INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
ALUMINUM COVER FOR AIR CONDITIONER CLUTCH – Mr. Gasket Part No. 5325
Read all instructions carefully before beginning installation. Installation on vehicles equipped with a mechanical cooling fan
requires checking the distance between fan blades and compressor for adequate clearance for clutch cover.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Mr. Gasket Aluminum Cover for Air Conditioner Clutch fits
1978-93 GM cars and trucks with a radial A/C compressor.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
Step 1
Clean threads on inside of the clutch using solvent and a small
wire brush.
Step 2
Turn the ignition key forward WITHOUT STARTING ENGINE
to accessory 12V power and slide the A/C - Heater lever to
defrost. This will lock the compressor clutch. NOTE: Before
completing this step, unplug distributor to prevent module
from burning up.
Step 3
Apply thread locker onto end of threaded adapter that is
counter-bored (right hand thread) and install into clutch. Use

adjustable pliers to tighten the adapter securely.
Step 4
Install ¼”-28 set screw into threaded adapter using a 1/8” hex
key wrench and securely tighten.
Step 5
Apply thread locker onto the end of threaded adapter and install clutch cover (left hand thread) onto adapter securely. Turn
ignition key to OFF position.
Step 6
Allow thread locker 90 minutes to dry. Make sure to plug back
in distributor.
