WARNING!
The Lippert Bike Rack & Tire Carrier is intended for the purpose of carrying
a maximum of two bicycles and one tire with a total load capacity of 150 lb.
Its function should not be used for any other purpose or reason than it’s
intended use. To use the feature for any reason other than what it is
designed may result in damage to the coach and/or cause serious injury or
even death.
Before installing the Lippert Bike Rack & Tire Carrier, please keep these
things in mind:
1. Follow all Lippert Bike Rack & Tire Carrier installation instructions.
Failure to complete the installation utilizing the instructions provided
may result in damage to the unit or cause serious injury or death.
2. After installing the Lippert Bike Rack & Tire Carrier and prior to travel, a
padlock must be engaged on the Bike Rack. Failure to lock the Bike
Rack may result in property damage, serious injury or death as well as
voiding any and all warranty claims.
3. Be sure to install using only the parts provided in the installation kit. For
any replacement parts or questions on replacement fasteners, contact:

DESCRIPTION
The Lippert Bike Rack & Tire Carrier are ad-on components. These
components are mounted to the rear bumper. Be sure to follow all
directions, cautions and warnings in regards to the component.
All Lippert Bike Rack & Tire Carrier components are replaceable. Contact
Lippert Components, Inc. to obtain replacement parts.

The Lippert Tire Carrier has three basic assemblies:
1. Main Assembly – The main structure of the tire carrier. All other
components are either welded to or will attach to this assembly.
The actual component that holds the tire.
2. Tire Bracket – Mounts to pre-existing tire carrier and main
assembly is bolted to this plate.
3. Mounting U-Bolts – Inserted into holes on plate on Main
Assembly and goes around rear bumper of unit.
The Lippert Bike Rack has four basic assemblies:
1. Main Assembly w/Clamping Assembly – The main structure of
the bike rack. All other components are either welded to or will
attach to this assembly. The actual component that holds the
bicycles.
2. Mounting Plate – Mounts to tire carrier and main assembly is
bolted to this plate.
3. Screw Handle – Inserted into hole in Main Assembly and
screws into Mounting Plate to hold Main Assembly to tire carrier.
4. Stabilizing Bracket – Bracket that mounts to rear outer wall of
RV and to tire carrier. Provides stability for Tire Carrier to assist
in bearing the added weight of bicycles to the unit.
PRIOR TO INSTALLATION
Prior to installation of the Lippert Bike Rack & Tire Carrier, follow these
guidelines:
1. Coach should be parked on the most level surface available.
2. Area should be clear of debris and work area clean.
3. Be sure to tighten all fasteners securely.

INSTALLATION
INSTALLING TIRE CARRIER
1. Hold Tire Carrier up to rear bumper
of RV.
2. Place one U-bolt around back side
of bumper and insert threads
through holes in Mounting Plate.
3. Tighten nut on threads by hand.
4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 with second
U-bolt.
5. When all 4 nuts have been installed
by hand, finish tightening nuts with
wrench, ensuring Tire Carrier is
secure and perpendicular to
bumper.

INSTALLING STABILIZING BRACKET
Top surfaces of Tire Carrier bracket and
Bike Rack Stabilizing Bracket must be
parallel to each other and perpendicular
to outside wall of RV.

1. Attach Stabilizing Bracket using enclosed hardware. (See note at top
of page regarding alignment of bracket).

3/8” x 1” Lag Bolts
3. With Stabilizing Bracket
perpendicular to rear outer wall of
RV, drill pilot holes (1/4”) into
outer RV wall using the two
bracket holes as guides (See
Fig. 6).

5. Apply a silicon sealant into the holes before securing bolts (Fig. 7).

6. With socket, closed or open end wrench, secure bolt into wall.
Fasten securely being careful not to strip out hole.
4. After pilot holes are drilled,
drill out holes to accomodate
mounting bolt size (5/16”).

INSTALLING BIKE RACK
1. Place Mounting Plate on tire
carrier by inserting the top lug
bolt in one hole of the Mounting
Plate.

2. Mount spare tire on the top lug of
the tire rack, (The same lug the
Mounting Plate was placed).

3. Start a lug nut on the top lug bolt.
Place the Angle Bracket on the
bottom lug bolt, start and tighten
lug nut. Tighten top lug nut.

4. Insert Screw Handle through hole on
Main Assembly and into threaded
block on Mounting Plate and tighten.
The last turn should line up one of
the two holes in the Screw Handle
with the hole in the Lock Plate to
allow for a padlock.

NOTE: A padlock must be engaged on the Lippert Bike Rack prior to

5. Secure Main Assembly to Stabilizing
Bracket with Nylon Strap. This strap
cinches all components together to
assist in stabilizing the Bike Rack.
