MODEL SOLAR3
53.78"
29.16"
CORRECT Panel Placement
Installation must be free of obstructions
that block sunlight. Install facing SOUTH.
Panel should be tilted
between 40° and 45°
MAINTENANCE: Solar modules require little maintenance. It is not uncommon for a remote site to be checked once a year. Under most conditions,
normal rainfall is sufficient to keep the power modules clean. If dirt build-up becomes excessive, clean the solar panel with a soft cloth, mild detergent and
water. Modules that are mounted flat (0° tilt angle) should be cleaned more often as they will not "self clean" as effectively as modules mounted at 15° tilt
or greater. Once a year, check the general condition of the wiring and connections. Also, check to be sure that mounting hardware is tight. Loose bolts
could result in a damaged module or array.
Solar3 thin film, power modules convert sunlight directly into electricity using advanced thin
film technology. The Solar3 is durable, shadow-tolerant, and reliable.
WARNING-ELECTRICAL HAZARD This solar electric product
is a LIVE power source in sunlight. OBSERVE CAUTION and read instructions.
Wiring to a Non-Surge
Suppressor “Robo”
Use the yellow wires from the J1
plug. (Polarity does not matter).
Connect the wires from the solar
panel to the yellow wires from the
J1 plug on the control board.
Sunlight will energize the battery
through the solar panel.
Wiring to a Surge Suppressor “Robo”
Connect the two wires from the solar panel to the
Power Input connection on the surge suppressor
(Polarity does not matter). Sunlight will energize the
batteries through the solar panel.

Insulated for 90C Min.
During initial 8-10 weeks of operation, the module
has higher electrical output than rated output. The
output power may be higher by 15%, the operating
voltage may be higher by 11% and operating current
may be higher by 4%.
INCORRECT
Panel Placement
DO NOT install solar panel near
trees or buildings that will block
the sunlight. To do so will lose
charging efficiency.
