wet hands. Do not let foreign substances (e.g., soft drinks or water) enter the touch pen and cradle; if this happens, do not use the touch pen and cradle. Do not touch the optic receiver of the touch pen and cradle with a sharp object. This can result in electrical shock or damage the product. Do not use the product under extreme
y
temperature conditions. Do not use the product immediately after going from the cold outdoors to the warm indoors. This can cause condensation in the pen. * This can result in damaging the product. Turn off the power and wait several hours until the moisture evaporates before using the product. Never disassemble or modify the touch
y
pen and cradle. * The product warranty does not cover damage or injury caused by unauthorized disassembly. This can result in electrical shock or damage the product. If fluid leaks from the touch pen and cradle, the
y
use of fire in the vicinity is strictly prohibited. The leaked fluid or gas can ignite a fire or cause damage. Avoid extreme shocks or impacts to the
y
product, for example, placing a heavy object on it or pressing it. Do not display fixed characters or images on
y
the screen for extended periods of time. This can cause image sticking. Do not connect the charging cable to
y
peripheral devices or disks that are not specified. This can cause malfunctions or failures. Do not leave the touch pen and cradle on the
y
floor. Stepping on it can damage the product or cause personal injury. Be careful when disposing of the product. The
y
touch pen and cradle consists of a lithiumpolymer battery and plastic material. Burning can be dangerous, so dispose of it according to local regulations. Do not remove the charging cable using
y
excessive force. This could damage the charging port and PC. Do not handle the touch pen and cradle with
y
excessive force. If you use the touch pen and cradle with excessive force, you may leave foreign substances on the screen. Clean the product with the product cleaning cloth provided.
When multiple people use the touch pen and
y
cradle, make sure that sufficient space is available. Collisions can cause injury or failures.

4 Disconnect the USB storage device only when
the message says that it is safe to remove.
CAUTION
y Do not turn the TV off or remove a USB
storage device while the USB storage device is connected to the TV, as this could result in loss of files or damage to the USB storage device.
y Back up your files saved on a USB stor-
age device frequently, as you may lose or damage the files and this may be not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
Tips for using USB storage devices
y Only a USB storage device is recognizable. y If the USB storage device is connected
through a USB hub, the device is not recognizable.
y A USB storage device using an automatic
recognition programme may not be recognized.
y A USB storage device which uses its own
driver may not be recognized.
y The recognition speed of a USB storage
device may depend on each device.
y Please do not turn off the TV or unplug the
USB device when the connected USB storage device is working. When such device is suddenly separated or unplugged, the stored files or the USB storage device may be damaged.
y Please do not connect the USB storage
device which was artificially manoeuvred on the PC. The device may cause the product to malfunction or fail to be played. Never forget to use only a USB storage device which has normal music files, image files or movie files.
y Please use only a USB storage device which
was formatted as a FAT32 file system, NTFS file system provided with the Windows operating system. In case of a storage device formatted as a different utility programme which is not supported by Windows, it may not be recognized.
y Please connect power to a USB storage
device(over 0.5 A) which requires an external power supply. If not, the device may not be recognized.
y Please connect a USB storage device with
the cable offered by the device maker.
y Some USB storage devices may not be sup-
ported or operated smoothly.
y File alignment method of USB storage
device is similar to Window XP and filename can recognize up to 100 English characters.
y Be sure to back up important files since data
stored in a USB memory device may be damaged. We will not be responsible for any data loss.
y If the USB HDD does not have an external
power source, the USB device may not be detected. So be sure to connect the external power source.

y If your USB memory device has multiple
partitions, or if you use a USB multi-card reader, you can use up to 4 partitions or USB memory devices.
y If a USB memory device is connected to a
USB multi-card reader, its volume data may not be detected.
y If the USB memory device does not work
properly, disconnect and reconnect it.
y How fast a USB memory device is detected
differs from device to device.
y If the USB is connected in Standby Mode,
specific hard disk will automatically be loaded when the TV is turned on.
y The recommended capacity is 1 TB or less
for a USB external hard disk and 32 GB or less for USB memory.
y Any device with more than the recommended
capacity may not work properly.
y If a USB external hard disk with a “Energy
Saving” function does not work, turn the hard disk off and on again to make it work properly.
y USB storage devices below USB 2.0 are
supported as well. But they may not work properly in the movie list.
y Maximum of 999 folders or files can be rec-
ognized under one folder.
y The file arrangement of the USB storage
device is similar to that of Windows XP and supports up to 100 alphabetical characters.

Cleaning your TV

CAUTION
Make sure to turn the power off and disconnect the power cord and all other cables first.
y
When the TV is left unattended and unused for a long time, disconnect the power cord from the wall
y
outlet to prevent possible damage from lightning or power surges.

Screen and frame

To remove dust or light dirt, wipe the surface with a dry, clean, and soft cloth. To remove major dirt, wipe the surface with a soft cloth dampened in clean water or a diluted mild detergent. Then wipe immediately with a dry cloth.
CAUTION
Do not push, rub, or hit the surface with your fingernail or a sharp object, as this may result in
y
scratches on the screen and image distortions. Do not use any chemicals, such as waxes, benzene, alcohol, thinners, insecticides, air fresheners,
y
lubricants, as these may damage the screen’s finish and cause discolouration.

Cabinet and stand

To remove dust or light dirt, wipe the cabinet with a dry, clean, and soft cloth. To remove major dirt, wipe the cabinet with a soft cloth dampened in a clean water or water containing a small amount of mild detergent. Then wipe immediately with a dry cloth.
CAUTION
Do not spray liquid onto the surface. If water enters the TV, it may result in fire, electric shock, or
y
malfunction. Do not use any chemicals as this may deteriorate the surface.
y

Power cord

Remove the accumulated dust or dirt on the power cord regularly.

Preventing “Image burn” or “Burn-in” on your TV screen

If a fixed image displays on the TV screen for a long period of time, it will be imprinted and become
y
a permanent disfigurement on the screen. This is “image burn” or “burn-in” and not covered by the warranty. If the aspect ratio of the TV is set to 4:3 for a long period of time, image burn may occur on the
y
letterboxed area of the screen. Avoid displaying a fixed image on the TV screen for a long period of time (2 or more hours for LCD,
y
1 or more hours for the Plasma TV) to prevent image burn.
