Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Der Grill ist ein Holzkohle-Grillgerät zur Verwendung
im Freien. Er wird bestimmungsgemäß verwendet,
wenn er ausschließlich für die Zubereitung von grillbaren Speisen eingesetzt wird und dabei alle Vorgaben dieser Anleitung eingehalten werden. Als Brennmittel sind nur Grill-Holzkohle und Grill-Briketts
zugelassen.
Der Grill ist nur für den privaten Gebrauch bestimmt.
Nicht bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Eine andere oder darüber hinausgehende Verwendung ist nicht zulässig. Dies gilt insbesondere für
folgende vernünftigerweise vorhersehbare Fehlanwendung:
• Grill nicht als Heizung verwenden.
• Im Grill keine anderen Stoffe als zugelassene GrillHolzkohle oder Grill-Briketts verbrennen.
• Grill nicht zum Erhitzen von Stoffen und Materialien außer grillbarer Lebensmittel verwenden.
Gewährleistungsansprüche
und Garantie
Ihr Landmann-Grill hat das Werk als Qualitätsprodukt
in technisch einwandfreiem Zustand verlassen.
Landmann übernimmt daher über Ihre gesetzlichen
Gewährleitungsansprüche hinaus eine erweiterte
Qualitäts- und Haltbarkeitsgarantie gegen Durchrosten und Durchbrand der Feuerschüssel und des
Deckels von 10 Jahren.
Gewährleistungs- und Garantieansprüche sind
grundsätzlich ausgeschlossen bei nicht bestimmungsgemäßem Gebrauch des Grills sowie bei Verwendung
nicht zugelassener Brennmittel. Verfärbung, Anrosten oder leichte Verformung der direkt den Flammen ausgesetzten Teile (Grillrost, Kohlerost) beeinträchtigen nicht die Funktion und begründen daher
keine Ansprüche.
Bitte bewahren Sie für eine eventuelle Geltendmachung von Garantie- oder Gewährleistungsansprüchen Ihren Kaufbeleg auf.

Gefahr: Kohlenmonoxyd-Vergiftung
Kohlenmonoxyd entsteht durch unvollständige
Verbrennung von kohlenstoffhaltigem Material,
wie z. B. Holzkohle oder Briketts.
Kohlenmonoxid ist geruchlos, farblos und nicht
reizend. Daher löst es keinen Warneffekt beim
Menschen aus.
Mögliche Folgen:
• In geschlossenen Räumen kann dies zum Tod
oder schweren Personenschäden auf Grund
einer Kohlenmonoxyd-Vergiftung führen.
Restgefahren
Gefahr: Explosionsartige Verpuffung
Anzündhilfen wie Benzin, Spiritus und ähnliche
flüssige Brandbeschleuniger sind sehr gefährlich
zum Zünden des Brennstoffs (Grill-Holzkohle oder
Grill-Briketts), da sie beim Zünden explosionsartig
verbrennen.
Dies gilt insbesondere, wenn solche Brandbeschleuniger auf heiße Brennstoffe gespritzt
oder gegossen werden, da dies einen FlammenRückschlag in den Brennmittelbehälter zur Folge
haben kann.
Wenn heiße Holzkohle oder Briketts mit Wasser
gelöscht werden, entsteht eine explosionsartige
Verpuffung, da das Wasser schlagartig verdampf.
Mögliche Folgen:
• Schwere Personen- oder Sachschäden
Schutzmaßnahmen:
• Grill nur im Freien und bei guter Belüftung
benutzen.
• Brennstoff (Grill-Holzkohle oder Grill-Briketts)
nur mit einer zugelassenen Anzündhilfe
anzünden (EN 1860-3).
• Beim Zünden des Brennmittels nicht über die
Grillfläche beugen.
• Brennende Holzkohle oder Briketts niemals
mit Wasser löschen.

Gefahr: Verbrennungen und Feuer
Während des Betriebs werden einige Teile des
Grills sehr heiß, insbesondere in der Nähe der
Feuerschüssel und des Deckels. Wenn Windböen
in die Feuerschüssel gelangen, kann es zu Funkenflug und/oder Flammenbildung kommen.
Mögliche Folgen:
• Schwere Verbrennungen beim Berühren von
heißen Teilen.
• Feuer oder Schwelbrand, wenn sich brennbare
Materialien oder Stoffe in der Nähe des Grills
befinden.
Schutzmaßnahmen vor dem Grillen:
Den Aufstellort so wählen,
– dass sich keine brennbaren Materialien
oder Stoffe in der Nähe des Grills befinden
oder dorthin gelangen. Mindestabstand zu
brennbaren Materialien oder Stoffen 5 m.
Abstand zu schwer entflammbaren Materialien oder Stoffen, z. B. Hauswänden, min-
destens 1 m.
– dass der Grill windgeschützt steht.
– dass der Grill sicher auf einer ebenen, aus-
reichend großen Fläche steht. Er darf wäh-
rend des Betriebs nicht bewegt werden.
Schutzmaßnahmen während des Grillens:
• Grillhandschuhe tragen.
• Grill nie unbeaufsichtigt lassen. Insbesondere
aufpassen, dass keine Kinder oder Haustiere in
die Nähe des Grills gelangen.
Schutzmaßnahmen nach dem Grillen:
• Lüftungsschlitze unter der Feuerschüssel
schließen, damit der Glut weniger Sauerstoff
zugeführt wird.
• Deckel auf die Feuerschüssel setzen, damit die
Glut abgedeckt ist.
• Lüftungsschlitze im Deckel öffnen, damit die
Hitze austreten kann.
• Grill solange beaufsichtigen, bis er abgekühlt
ist - erst dann reinigen.
Damit Sie schnell und erfolgreich Ihren Grill montieren,
hier einige Hinweise:
• Kontrollieren Sie den Lieferumfang und legen Sie
die Einzelteile übersichtlich auf einem leeren Tisch
ab (kleinere technische Änderungen behalten wir
uns vor).
• Sollte trotz sorgfältiger Kontrolle im Werk etwas fehlen, kontaktieren Sie unseren Kundendienst (siehe
letzte Seite). Wir werden Ihnen umgehend helfen.
• Verwenden Sie nur einwandfreies und gut passendes
Werkzeug. Mit abgenutztem oder nicht passendem
Werkzeug können Sie die Schrauben nicht fest
genug anziehen, aber auch so beschädigen, dass sie
nicht mehr zu verdrehen sind.
• Montieren Sie immer alle Verbindungselemente
(Schrauben, Muttern usw.), so wie es in den Abbildungen gezeigt wird. Falls ein Verbindungselement
abhanden gekommen ist, besorgen Sie passenden
Ersatz. Nur so ist eine sichere und stabile Konstruktion gewährleistet.
• Halten Sie die vorgegebenen Arbeitsschritte unbedingt in der angegebenen Reihenfolge ein!
• Auch wenn Sie kein erfahrener Heimwerker sind,
benötigen Sie für die Montage in der Regel nicht viel
länger als eine Stunde.

Mit dem OptiHeat-System verfügen die Kugelgrills
der black pearl-Serie weltweit als einzige über eine
Höhenverstellung des Grillrostes.

Grill in Betrieb nehmen
Achtung:
Beachten Sie die maximal zulässige Füllmenge des
Grills mit Grill-Holzkohle oder Grill-Briketts (siehe
Technische Daten). Wenn Sie ihn überfüllen, kann
dies den Grill beschädigen.
Verwenden Sie nur zugelassene Grillgut-Anzündmittel (wie z. B. Landmann-Feststoffanzünder), niemals
Benzin, Spiritus oder andere beim Anzünden verpuffende Substanzen.
Verwenden Sie als Brennstoff nur Grill-Holzkohle
oder Grill-Briketts. Wir empfehlen, Qualitätserzeugnisse von Landmann.
1. Schichten Sie etwas Grill-Holzkohle oder einige
Grill-Briketts auf das Kohlerost.
2. Zünden Sie ein bis zwei Feststoffanzünder mit
einem Streichholz an. Legen Sie diese auf die vorhandene Schicht Holzkohle bzw. Briketts.
3. Lassen Sie die Feststoffanzünder 2 bis 4 Minuten
brennen. Füllen Sie danach die Feuerschüssel langsam mit Grill-Holzkohle oder Grill-Briketts.
Grill außer Betrieb nehmen
• Grillen Sie vorausschauend. Legen Sie nur so viel
Brennstoff auf, wie Sie zum Zubereiten Ihrer Speisen benötigen.
• Wenn Sie mit der Zubereitung Ihrer Speisen fertig
sind oder die Zubereitung kurzzeitig unterbrechen möchten:
– Lüftungsschlitze unter der Feuerschüssel schlie-
ßen, damit der Glut weniger Sauerstoff zugeführt wird.
– Deckel auf die Feuerschüssel setzen, damit die
Glut abgedeckt ist.
– Lüftungsschlitze im Deckel öffnen, damit die
Hitze austreten kann.
– Lassen Sie den Grill nicht unbeaufsichtigt,
solange der Brennstoff heiß ist.
– Schütten Sie niemals Wasser in die heiße Glut,
da das Wasser explosionsartig verdampfen
würde.
– Entsorgen Sie niemals heißes Brenngut. Lassen
Sie es so lange im Grill, bis es abgekühlt ist.
Reinigung
Bei Erstgebrauch sollte der Grill ohne Grillgut
aber mit geschlossenem Deckel ca. 20 Minuten aufgeheizt werden, damit die lebensmittelechte Lackierung aushärtet (wie bei jedem Backofen).
4. Wenn die Kohle bzw. die Briketts komplett mit
einer Ascheschicht bedeckt ist, diese mit einem
geeigneten Metallteil (z. B. Feuerharke) gleichmäßig in der Feuerschüssel verteilen.
5. Setzen Sie nun das eingefettete OptiHeat-Grillrost
ein und legen Sie Ihr Grillgut auf. Tragen Sie dabei
Grillhandschuhe oder sonstige vor Hitze schützende Handschuhe.
Gefahr: Verbrennungsgefahr beim Reini-
gen des heißen Grills
Einige Teile des Grills können sehr heiß werden.
Lassen Sie den Grill erst abkühlen, bevor Sie ihn
reinigen. Tragen Sie Schutzhandschuhe.
Damit Sie lange viel Freude mit Ihrem Grill haben,
sollten Sie ihn nach jedem Betrieb – nachdem alle
Teile abgekühlt sind – mit Spülmittel, einer Bürste
und einem Tuch reinigen. Später, bei angetrocknetem Schmutz, ist der Aufwand erheblich höher.
Umwelthinweise und
Entsorgungsmaßnahmen
Achten Sie auf Sauberkeit im Umgang mit dem Grill.
Zur Entsorgung des Grills, zerlegen Sie ihn in seine
Einzelteile. Geben Sie Metalle und Kunststoffe in die
Wiederverwertung.
Beachten Sie die örtlichen Bestimmungen.

Intended use
This is a charcoal barbecue that is intended for outdoor use. Intended use means only using the barbecue to prepare barbecue food, while observing and
complying with all of the instructions in this manual.
Only charcoal and barbecue briquettes should be
used as fuel.
This barbecue is only intended for private use.
Unintended use
Any other use or application extending beyond the
intended purpose is not permitted. This applies to
the following types of misuse in particular:
• Do not use the barbecue as a heating appliance.
• Do not use any fuel other than approved charcoal
or barbecue briquettes in the barbecue.
• Do not use the barbecue to heat materials and
substances other than food that is suitable for
barbecuing.
Guarantee claims and warranty
Your Landmann barbecue left the factory in a technically flawless condition.
In addition to your statutory warranty claims Landmann therefore also offers an extended 10 year quality and durability warranty against the fire bowl and
lid rusting or burning through.
Any warranty and guarantee claims shall become
void in the event of improper use of the barbecue or
if non-approved fuel is used. Discolouration, rusting
or slight deformation of parts exposed directly to the
flames (cooking grill, charcoal grid, et cetera) do not
impair the function of the barbecue and, as such, do
not form a basis for any claims.
Please retain your receipt in case you need to make a
warranty claim.

Residual risks
Danger: Carbon monoxide poisoning
Carbon monoxide is produced through the incomplete combustion of carbonaceous material such
as charcoal or briquettes.
Carbon monoxide is odourless, colourless and
non-irritating. Therefore, it does not trigger any
warning effect in humans.
Possible consequences:
• Death or severe personal injury as a result
of carbon-monoxide poisoning may occur in
closed-up areas.
Danger: Explosive deflagration
Firelighters such as petrol, spirits and other similar fire accelerants are very dangerous for igniting the fuel (charcoal or barbecue briquettes), as
they burn in an explosive manner when ignited.
This is particularly true if such accelerants are
sprayed or poured onto hot fuel, as this can cause
a flashback in the fuel container.
If hot charcoal or briquettes are extinguished
with water, it creates an explosive deflagration as
the water evaporates instantly.
Possible consequences:
• Severe personal injury or damage to property
Safety measures:
• Only use the barbecue outdoors and ensure
that the area is well-ventilated.
• Only ignite the fuel (charcoal or barbecue briquettes) by using an approved firelighter (EN
1860-3).
• Do not lean over the barbecue when igniting
the fuel.
• Never use water to extinguish hot charcoal or
briquettes.

Danger: Burns and fire
During operation some parts of the barbecue can
become very hot, particularly those close to the
fire bowl and the lid. If a gust of wind enters the
fire bowl, it can cause flying sparks and/or the
formation of flames.
Possible consequences:
• Severe burns from touching hot parts.
• Fire or smoldering fire if flammable materials
or substances are near the barbecue.
Safety measures prior to using the barbecue:
When setting up the barbecue, make sure that
– there are not, and will not be, any flam-
mable materials or substances nearby. The
minimum distance to flammable materials or substances is 5 m and the minimum
distance to flame-resistant materials or
substances, e.g. house walls, is at least 1 m.
– the barbecue is protected from the wind.
– the barbecue is positioned firmly on a suf-
ficiently large surface area. It must not be
moved during operation.
Safety measures while barbecuing:
• Wear protective barbecue gloves.
• Never leave the barbecue unattended. Take
particular care to ensure that children and
pets are kept away from the barbecue.
Safety measures after using the barbecue:
• Close the ventilation slots under the fire bowl
so that less oxygen is supplied to the embers.
• Place the lid on the fire bowl so that the
embers are covered.
• Open the vents in the lid so that the heat can
escape.
• Monitor the barbecue until it has cooled down
- only then should you clean it.
Assembly
Here are a few tips to help you assemble your barbecue
quickly and successfully:
• Check that no parts are missing by placing all of the
individual parts on an empty table (subject to minor
technical changes).
• If, despite careful factory checks, a component
should be missing, please contact our customer service department (see last page). We will immediately
attend to your request.
• Only use tools that are intact and suitable for the
job at hand. Worn or unsuitable tools will not allow
you to tighten the bolts sufficiently, but will damage them to the extent that they can no longer be
turned.
• Always fit all connecting elements (screws, nuts,
bolts, et cetera) as shown in the illustrations. If you
misplace a connecting element, replace it with an
appropriate part. Only by doing this can you ensure
that the construction is strong and safe.
• It is essential that you follow the instructions in the
order they are specified!
• Even if you are not experienced at DIY, assembly does
not generally take longer than one hour.

Operation
Getting to know the OptiHeat system
Thanks to their OptiHeat system, kettle barbecues in
the black pearl series are the only barbecues in the
world that enable height adjustment of the cooking
grill.
If you need more information on the OptiHeat system, please refer to www.landmann.com.

Starting up the barbecue
Caution:
Please note the maximum permitted capacity of
the barbecue with regard to charcoal and briquettes (see 'Technical specifications'). If the barbecue is overfilled it can result in damage.
Only use approved barbecue lighters (such as Landmann solid firelighters); never use petrol, spirits or
other substances that are subject to deflagration
when ignited.
Only use charcoal or barbecue briquettes as the fuel.
We recommend using quality products from Landmann.
1. Stack some charcoal or barbecue briquettes on the
charcoal grid.
2. Light one or two solid firelighters using a match.
Place these firelighters on top of the layer of charcoal or briquettes.
3. Allow the solid firelighters to burn for 2 to 4 minutes. Then slowly fill the fire bowl with charcoal
or briquettes.
The first time you use the barbecue allow it to
heat up for approximately 20 minutes (with the lid
closed) before adding any food; doing this will allow
the food-safe coating to harden (as is the case with
any oven).
4. When the charcoal or briquettes are completely
covered with a layer of ash, distribute them evenly
in the fire bowl by using a suitable metal utensil
(e.g. fire rake).
5. Now insert the greased OptiHeat cooking grill
and place the food to be cooked on top. Always
wear barbecue mittens or gloves that protect your
hands against the heat.
Switching off the barbecue
• Plan ahead before barbecuing. Only use the fuel
you need to prepare your food.
• If you have finished preparing your food or want
to temporarily interrupt the preparation process:
– Close the ventilation slots under the fire bowl
so that less oxygen is supplied to the embers.
– Place the lid on the fire bowl so that the embers
are covered.
– Open the vents in the lid so that the heat can
escape.
– Do not leave the barbecue unattended while
the fuel is still hot.
– Never pour water onto the hot embers, as it
will cause the water to evaporate in an explosive manner.
– Never dispose of hot embers. Leave them in the
barbecue until they have cooled down.
Cleaning
Danger: Risk of burning when cleaning
the hot barbecue
Some parts of the barbecue can become very hot.
Allow the barbecue to cool down sufficiently
before cleaning it. Wear protective gloves.
To make sure that you have many years of enjoyment
with your barbecue you should always clean it after
use - after making sure that all the parts have cooled
down - with detergent, a brush and a cloth. This will
be much harder to do later, once the soiling has dried.

Il s'agit d'un barbecue à charbon destiné à une
utilisation en plein air. Il est utilisé d'une manière
conforme lorsqu'il sert exclusivement à la préparation de grillades et que toutes les instructions du
présent mode d'emploi sont respectées. Les seuls
combustibles autorisés sont le charbon de bois pour
barbecue et les briquettes à barbecue.
Le barbecue est destiné à un usage personnel uniquement.
Utilisation non conforme
Toute utilisation différente ou allant au-delà de ces
recommandations est interdite. Ceci s'applique en
particulier à l'utilisation incorrecte suivante raisonnablement prévisible :
• Ne pas utiliser le barbecue en tant que radiateur.
• Ne pas brûler quoi que ce soit d'autre que du charbon de bois et des briquettes à barbecue dans le
barbecue.
• Ne pas utiliser le barbecue pour chauffer des textiles et matériaux, mais uniquement pour griller
des aliments prévus à cet effet.

Landmann octroie de de ce fait, outre la garantie
légale, une garantie étendue de qualité et de durabilité contre la corrosion traversante et la calcination
traversante du foyer et du couvercle de 10 ans.
Toute prise en charge au titre de la garantie est, par
principe, exclue en cas d'utilisation non conforme du
barbecue ainsi qu'en cas d'utilisation d'un combustible non autorisé. La décoloration, la corrosion ou
une légère déformation des éléments directement
soumis aux flammes (gril, grille à charbon) n'affectent
pas la fonction et ne justifient donc pas une demande
de prise en garantie.

Danger : intoxication au monoxyde de
carbone
Le monoxyde de carbone est généré par la combustion incomplète de matériau contenant du
carbon comme par exemple le charbon de bois ou
les briquettes.
Le monoxyde de carbone est inodore, incolore et
non irritant. C'est pourquoi il n'est pas perçu par
les humains.
Conséquences possibles :
• Dans des locaux fermés, cela peut provoquer
la mort ou une atteinte grave en raison d'une
intoxication au monoxyde de carbone.
Dangers résiduels
Danger : déflagration explosive
Les aides à l'allumage comme l'essence, l'alcool
et les autres accélérateurs de combustion liquides
comparables sont très dangereux pour allumer le
combustible (le charbon de bois ou les briquettes)
car ils se consument de manière explosive à l'allumage.
Cela est en particulier le cas lorsque de tels produits sont pulvérisés ou arrosés sur des combustibles chauds car cela est susceptible d'entraîner
un retour de flamme dans le récipient.
Lorsque du charbon de bois ou des briquettes
brûlants sont éteints à l'eau, il se produit une
déflagration explosive car l'eau s'évapore brutalement.
Conséquences possibles :
• Blessures et dommages matériels graves
Mesures de protection :
• Utiliser le barbecue uniquement à l'air libre
avec une bonne aération.
• Allumer le combustible (charbon de bois ou
briquettes à barbecue ) uniquement avec un
produit d'allumage agréé (EN 1860-3).
• Ne pas se pencher sur la surface de grillade lors
de l'allumage du combustible.
• Ne jamais éteindre le charbon de bois ou les
briquettes enflammés avec de l'eau.
