Safety instructions
Connection and operation
Küppersbusch fitted ovens may only be connected to the corresponding
Küppersbusch fitted hobs by a qualified and authorised fitter.
Fitting a mains socket, repairing and servicing the appliance are jobs that
should be left to a qualified electrician according to valid safety regulations. For your own safety, do not allow anyone other than a qualified service technician to install, service or repair this appliance.
Do not switch the appliance on until it has been installed!
The surfaces of the oven door and the appliance become very hot in use.
Always make sure that children are kept well away!
Connection leads of electrical appliances may not be placed on the hot
cooking zones or get jammed in the hot oven door.
Never use steam and/or pressure cleaners to clean the oven! Damage
caused to your appliance by cleaning it this way can make it lethally dangerous.
The appliance is designed solely for the preparation of food in the home.
Hob
Overheated fats and oils may spontaneously ignite. Food involving the use
of fats and oils, e.g. chips, may only be cooked under supervision. Never extinguish ignited fats and oils with water! Put the lid on, turn off the cooking zone and remove the pan.
If cracks, fractures or any other defects appear in your glass ceramic hob,
immediately switch off the appliance. Disconnect the fuse.
With glass ceramic hobs with a warming zone, it is possible for the warming
zone to be switched on unintentionally or by a defective electronic component. For this reason, no objects which pose a general hazard may be left on the warming zone even after use.
Do not place aluminium foil or plastic on the cooking zones.
Do not place combustible or ignitable objects on the cooking area which
might be dangerous if the appliance is switched on unintentionally.
Oven
Always disconnect the cooker from the mains, by unplugging or switching
off the consumer unit (switch off the fuse!), before carrying out repairs and replacing oven light bulbs.
Never keep items in your oven that could be hazardous if the oven is
accidentally switched on.
Take special care when working in the hot oven and always use an oven
cloth, oven gloves or similar protection.
Never use the oven with the grill removed.
If the grill is removed, the grill
socket is no longer protected. Treat this like any other power socket: Never wipe it or allow water or oven spray to come into contact with it.
Be careful opening the door when
the oven is hot; don’t lean over the open door straight away. Hot air and steam are released when you open the door.
The oven door must form a good seal when closed. If the hinges or the
door glass are damaged, do not use the oven until it has been repaired and checked by a service engineer.
A damaged door seal must be replaced. Do not use the oven if the door
seal is damaged.
Always close the oven door tightly when cooking food in the oven.
Keep a distance of at least 5 cm from the grill.
Before using the appliance for the first time
Disposing of the packaging and your old appliance
Please dispose of the packaging that came with your appliance in an environmentally friendly way.
If you bought your appliance in Germany, the dealer who sold it to you will take the packaging back for recycling. Recycling in this way saves on resources and cuts down on waste. Your old appliance still contains useful raw materials. Take your old appliance to a recycling collection point. Please make your old appliances unserviceable before disposing of it, to prevent it from misuse.
Initial cleaning
– Remove packaging and non-essential components. – We recommend that you clean your oven before using it for the first time.
Clean the glass ceramic cooking area or hob, the oven interior, baking tray and gridiron etc. using a damp cloth and a little detergent.
Heating the hob (not for glass ceramic hobs):
Consecutively heat up the cooking zones for 5 minutes each at the highest setting. Air the kitchen well because of the “new smell”.
Heat the oven.
Close the oven door. Heat the oven using Hot air convection at 250°C for 60 minutes. Make sure that the kitchen is well ventilated during this time.

Using the hob

Please note the safety instructions on page 20.
The cooking levels
Each cooking zone has its own control. Nine cooking levels are marked on each cooking zone control. You can also select intermediate settings.
F
As far as possible, start cooking at the highest setting and continue at a smaller setting.
Pilot light
If at least one cooking zone is switched on, the cooking zone pilot light lights up on the control panel.
Which are the best pots and pans?
You can save time and power by choosing the best pans.
Use pots and pans with flat, smooth bottoms.
Choose a pot or pan whose diameter fits the hotplate.
Features of the glass ceramic hob
Frying or dual-circuit cooking zone
As a standard rule, the smaller cooking zone diameter is heated. The outer cooking zone circuit can be switched on for frying pans and large saucepans.
Switching the dual-circuit zone on:
– Turn the control to the right as far as it will go. – Then set it to the required cooking level.
Switching the dual-circuit zone off:
– Turn the control to “0” briefly. – Then set it to the required cooking level.
Heat indicators (1)
[
Caution! The indicator can fail (defective light bulb). You will now not be warned when the cooking zones are hot. Have the light bulb replaced immediately!
The indicators are on for as long as the cooking zones are still very hot and even after they have been switched off.
Warming zone
Some glass ceramic hobs are provided with a zone for keeping food warm. The warming zone is controlled via sensor buttons.
Switching on:
– First touch sensor button 2, then
3. The pilot light under the sensor buttons comes on.
Switching off:
– Touch sensor button 4.
