Multicast Forwarding or Filtering
KDS-EN6, KDS-DEC6
Minimum Network Requirements
KDS-EN6 / KDS-DEC6 runs o n standard 1 Gigabit Ethernet networks. This document outlines the
minimum network requirements for deployment. For more information, refer to the Kramer AV over
IP Deployment Guide, available at www.kramerav.com/downloads/KDS-EN6
Network Switch
Use non-blocking Layer 3 managed network switches with:
• 1 Gigabit port for every connected KDS device.
• Multicast forwarding or filtering enabled.
• Jumbo Frames frame size up to 9216.
• IGMP Laye r 2.

Cascade Network Deployment Notes
• Verify that trunk ports on a switch used to connect to other switches are properly configured.
• While computing trunk uplink bandwidth utilization, note that any multicast sources (encoders)
connected to the original switch must send all their data to the master IGMP (Internet Group
Management Protocol) querier / multicast router. If anot her switc h is the master IGMP querier
/ multicast router, the multicast traffic must flow to that switch.
