Intended Use
The radio is intended for use in the reception of radio transmissions and of the alarm functions. The radio is not intended for utilisation in commercial or industrial applications. No warranty claims will be granted for damage resulting from improper use!
Safety Notices
This appliance is not suitable for children or for people whose physical, sensorial or intellectual faculties prevent the safe usage of the appliance without support or supervision. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Check the appliance and all parts for visible damage. The safety concept can work only if the appliance is in a faultless condition.
Risk of explosion!
Do not throw batteries into a fire. Do not re­charge the batteries.
Risk of electrical shocks.
NEVER submerse the appliance in water. Wipe it only with a slightly damp cloth.
Do not attempt to open the housing or to repair the radio. Should you do so, the radio may no longer be considered safe and the warranty is voided.
Risk of fire!
Do not use the appliance in the vicinity of hot surfaces.
Do not locate the appliance in places exposed to direct sunlight, If you do, it may overheat and become irreparably damaged.
Do not leave the appliance unattended when in use.
Do not cover the radio while it is switched on.
Do not place any open sources of fire, like candles, on the device.
Risk of personal injury!
Keep children away from the appliance. Children frequently underestimate the dangers of electrical appliances.
Do not operate the appliance if it has sustained a fall or is damaged. Arrange for the appliance to be checked and/or repaired by qualified technicians.
Keep batteries away from children. Children can put batteries into their mouths and swallow them.

Unpacking
1. Take the radio out of the packaging.
2. Remove all adhesive tapes and foils.
Important!:
Do not permit small children to play with plastic packaging. There is a risk of suffocation!
Check the delivered contents
Before taking the appliance into use check to ensure that all of the items listed have been supplied and that there are no visible signs of damage.

Inserting the batteries
For battery operation of the radio you must first in­sert four 1.5 V, Type AAA/LR03/Micro batteries (not supplied) into the battery compartment

1. Open the battery compartment

at the rear of the radio in that you remove the cover in the direction of the arrow.
2. Insert the four batteries into the battery com-
partment

, ensuring their positionings comply with the polarity markings given in the battery compartment

3. Replace the battery compartment cover.
Interaction with batteries
Leaking batteries can cause damage to the appliance.
• If you do not intend to use the appliance for an extended period, remove the batteries.
• Always change all batteries at the same time and always use batteries of the same type.
• Should the batteries leak, wear protective gloves and clean the battery compartment with a dry cloth.
