CD packaged with your frame.

Installing the software

The CD that was packaged with your frame contains two applications that work well independently, but also work together for the best experience with your frame:
KODAK EASYSHARE Digital Display Software —manage your frame right
from your computer, and use the Sync feature to copy all your pictures from your computer to your frame’s internal memory (see page 16).
KODAK EASYSHARE Software —organize, edit, and share your pictures.
IMPORTANT:
Click Typical to install EASYSHARE Digital Display Software and to upgrade a
previous version of EASYSHARE Software.
If you do not have EASYSHARE Software on your computer, click Custom and
choose both applications for a new installation.
Update—if an update to Digital Display Software is available on the Web, you
receive a notice during installation. Click Yes to install the latest version and take advantage of new features, including Sync.
The software icons appear on your desktop when the installation is complete.
We recommend that you install both. If you already have EASYSHARE Software on your computer, upgrade to this version for additional features.

Getting started

Charging the battery

Your frame’s rechargable battery was installed at the factory.

Charging

Plug the frame in and leave the power connected for at least 3 hours.
The battery automatically charges when the AC power adapter is connected. You don’t need to turn the frame on.

Using battery power

Because the battery may be fully discharged when you unpack your frame, you
must charge the battery for at least 3 hours before running the frame on battery power.
Unplug the AC adapter and share your pictures at a party or wedding, or take your
frame to an outdoor event where AC power is unavailable.
Your frame can run for up to an hour* on battery power.
*Battery life may vary. Factors that may adversely affect battery life include playing videos, playing audio files, using a high volume setting, and using a high screen brightness setting.

Monitoring battery charge level

The battery icon indicates the charge level.
Full charge
1/2 charge
Empty—icon blinks for 5 seconds, then the frame turns off. Plug in the AC adapter and charge the battery.
NOTE: If your frame hasn’t been plugged in to AC power for a long time (more than a year), you may need
to refresh the battery to fully charge it. See Refreshing the battery, page 39.

Resetting the clock and calendar after losing power

If you turn off the power on the frame or otherwise lose power for longer than 12 hours, the clock and calendar return to the factory setting and the automatic on/off times, if set, are disabled.
When you turn the frame back on, the Clock and Date screen appears.

NOTE: If you exit the Clock and Date screen without setting the time, you can manually reset the clock and
re-enable the automatic on/off times (see page 7). It is not necessary to reset the on/off times.

Refreshing the battery

Refresh the battery if your frame hasn’t been plugged in to AC power for a long time (more than a year), or if the battery isn’t holding a charge.
1 Fully charge the battery—connect the power cord and leave connected for at least
3 hours.
