Once the DN9 630 is connected to a com puter it will appear a s a normal soundca rd on your

Mac or PC.

About this manual

This is the op eration manual for the D N9630 AES50 to USB 2.0 Converter. This man ual is intended

to help get yo ur unit installed a nd in operation as qu ickly as possibl e by giving you unpack ing,

installa tion, connecti on, setting up an d operating inst ructions. To help fa miliarise you with

the DN9630, the re is a descripti on of the front and rea r panels, along with e asy-to-follow

user instructions.

2. Getting Started

This sec tion shows you how to un pack, install, con nect up, switch o n and con gure the DN9630

AES50 to USB 2.0 Conver ter.

Unpacking

Carefu lly unpack your DN9630 un it. Then, inspec t the DN9630 unit caref ully for any signs of

damage that m ay have occurred duri ng transit, and the n notify the cour ier immediately if y ou do

discover any d amage.

Check the c ontents of your DN9630 u nit equipment pac kage. If there are any pa rts missing,

incorre ct or faulty, plea se contact your lo cal distribu tor or KLARK TEKNIK at t he address at the

front of t his manual.

Please re tain the original p acking in case you sh ould need to retur n the equipment to t he

manufac turer or suppli er, or transp ort or ship the uni t later.

Installation

Before i nstalling and ope rating this equip ment, make sure it is cor rectly connec ted to the

protec tive earth conduc tor of the mains volta ge supply.

Ideally a coo l area is preferre d, away from power dist ribution equipm ent or other potenti al

sources of interference.

Do not inst all the equipment in p laces of poor ventilat ion.

Do not inst all this equipmen t in a location subje cted to excessiv e heat, dust or mecha nical

vibrati on. Allow for adequate ve ntilation around th e equipment. Whene ver possible, keep the

equipme nt out of direct su nlight.

The DN9630 is pow ered via USB from a compu ter USB connection .

Make sure the p lug  t ted on the supplie d USB cable is securel y  tte d to the USB port on the u nit.

When  tting or r emoving a plug, always h old the plug itsel f and never use the cab le, as this may

damage it. Ne ver insert or remove a n electric plug wi th wet hands.

Handling the equipment

When lif ting or moving the e quipment, always t ake its size and weight in to consideration .

Completel y isolate the equipm ent electric ally and disconnec t all cables from t he equipment

before m oving it.

Driver Installation (Windows)

1. Download t he latest DN9630 Windo ws driver from the K lark Teknik website

2. Unzip the dow nloaded  le

3. Connect t he DN9630 to your PC via USB

4. Run the set up.exe  l e and follow the on scre en instruct ions

Electric  elds

In accord ance with Part 15 of t he FCC Rules & Regulat ions, “… change s or

modi catio ns not express ly approved by the p arty respo nsible for com pliance could

void the us er’s authorit y to operate the equ ipment.”

Should thi s product be use d in an electroma gnetic  eld that is amplitu de modulated by an audi o

freque ncy signal (20 Hz to 20 kHz), the s ignal to noise ratio m ay be degraded. Deg radation of

up to 60 dB at a fr equency corr esponding to the mo dulation signal may be e xperienced un der

extre me conditions (3 V/m, 90% mod ulation).

also suppl ies power to the unit.

4. Operation

Before ap plying power to the DN9 630 set the sample rate t o match that of the AES50 enab led

device it wi ll be connected to. T hen plug in the USB cabl e. The device will appe ar like a normal

soundc ard in your audio appli cation and you can co n gur e according to the app lications

instruc tions. Connec t the AES50 and wait for i t to syncronise.

Once this is do ne the DN9630 is ready to be u sed for recordin g or playback.
