1. Introduction

Welco me!

Thank you fo r purchasing a Klark Tekni k DN9610 AES50 Repeater.
The DN9610 is a premiu m quality, dual channe l Klark Teknik AES50

repeater b ox. A single DN9610 extend s any AES50 connecti on by up
to a distan ce of 100 metres, but f or greater distanc es multiple DN9610
devices c an be connected t ogether in serie s (dais y-chained).

This DN9610 is par ticularly desi gned for sound rei nforcement as an
extens ion to existing AES50 n etwork connec tions. A pair of AES50
port s is provided so that c urrent AES50 device s that use redundant ‘ X’
and ‘Y’ ne tworks can b e catered for with in a single box.

The DN9610 has two i nputs and outpu ts that provide bi -directio nal
transmis sion of 24 channels of audi o at 96kHz or 48 chann els of audio
at 48kHz , both at 24-bit plus con trol data. Each in put and ouput is via
a Neutrik E therCON connec tor, which has a suppor ting activit y LED.

Note: Although AES50 is a bi-di rectional audio protocol th e “input” and
“output” na ming convention has been used to help the user wi th clock
transmission.

3. Getting Started

3.1 Unpacking

Carefu lly unpack your DN9610 equ ipment package. Th en inspect the
DN9610 unit care fully for any signs of d amage that may have occur red
during tr ansit and notif y the courier immed iately if you discove r any.

Check the c ontents of your DN9610 equ ipment package. If t here
are any par ts missing, incor rect or fault y, please contact yo ur local
distri butor or Klark Teknik at t he address at the fr ont of this manual.

Please ret ain the original p acking in case you sh ould need to retur n
the equip ment to the manufac turer or supplie r, or tra nsport or ship
the unit late r.

3.2 Installation

DC inlets a re provided on the rea r panel. The correc t mains power
adaptor is su pplied with the un it complete with a s election of cou ntry
variant plu g attachments t o suit your local mains p ower outlet socket
requirements.

3.3 Connecting up

When conne cting up, note the f ollowing:

• • AES50 cabl es can be up to 100 m long and mu st be Cat5e or

Cat6.

• • Always conn ect DN9610 inputs to cl ock master and DN9610

output s to clock slave.

• • Always conn ect AES50 cables t o like numbered input a nd

output p orts. For exam ple, if you are connec ting to input por t
AES50IN1, connect i ts output to AES50OUT1.

• • When dais y-chaining, alwa ys connect the ou tput(s) of one

DN9610 to the input (s) of anot her.

• • With power on, w hen you connect an AE S50 cable to the unit

(input or ou tput) its local g reen 'activit y' LED will illuminate.
When the con nection is act ive the LED will  ash.
