Instructions for use
Turning power on and off
1. Press the POWER button (1) to turn on the camera.
2. Long press the POWER button (1) to turn power off.
Charging the battery
The camera has a built-in rechargeable lithium batter y. Please fully charge the batter y before use.
1. Turn off the camera.
2. Connect one end of the USB cable to the camera and the
other end to a PC/mains charger USB port.
3. The status indicator will turn red whilst charging.
4. Once fully charged the status indicator will turn off.
Note: The camera body may be warm after ex tended use. This is normal.

Inserting the memory card
The Splash camera doesn’t have any internal memor y. To be able to record video or capture photos using the camera, you must have your micro SD card (at least class 4) inserted.
1. Ensure the camera is turned of f.
2. Insert your memor y card into the TF/micro SD card slot (5). The camera uses the FAT32 ling system. If the micro SD card is incompatible, it will ne ed format ting.
3. To format the card correctly, go to the ‘Changing the Camera Settings’ section later in this manual and follow the ‘General Settings’ instructions.
Changing the mode of the camera
The camera has 3 different modes: Capture mode, Video mode and Playback mode.
1. Press the MODE button (10) repeatedly to select between
these modes.

Recording videos
1. Turn on the camera and it will start in Video mode
automatically. If in another mode, press the MODE button (10) to set the camera to Video mode.
2. Use the LCD screen (7) to view your shot, then press the SHUTTER button (1) to start recording.
3. The LCD screen (7) will display how long it has been
recording for.
4. Press the SHUTTER button (1) again to stop recording.
Note: The camera will stop recording automatically when the memory capacity is full or it has run out of bat tery power.
Recording audio within a video
If using the camera with the waterproof case, audio will be recorded although it will be barely audible. For best audio quality, the camera will need to be used without the case. When using the camera without a case, please take ex tra care and make sure it does not get wet.
Taking a still image
1. Turn on the camera and press the MODE but ton (10) to set
the camera to Capture mode.
2. Use the LCD screen (7) to view your shot, and then press the SHUTTER button (1) to take a still image.
3. After the image has been taken, the LCD scre en (7) will display the image for a brief second.

Playback of files
1. Turn on the camera and press the MODE (10) button to set the camera to Playback mode.
2. Press and hold the MODE button (10) and the camera will
scroll through all les on the micro SD card. Release the MODE button (10) and the camera will stop on the selected le.
Viewing video files
1. When a video le is selected, press the SHUTTER button (1).
2. The LCD screen (7) will show the options ‘Delete’ or ‘Play’.
3. Press the MODE button (10) to select either ‘Delete’ or ‘Play’.
4. To watch a video, press the SHUTTER button (1) and select ‘Play’.
5. To stop the video, press the MODE button (10).
6. To delete the le, press the SHUT TER button (1) and select ‘Delete’. Then, press the MODE but ton (10) to select ‘Yes’ and press the SHUTTER but ton (1).
Deleting picture files
When viewing a picture le, you can delete it if it’s not wanted.
1. Press the SHUTTER but ton (1), then the MODE but ton (10) to
select ‘Yes’ followed by the SHUTTER button (1) to conrm.

Changing the camera settings
General settings
1. To enter the general settings menu, press and hold the MODE button (10) whilst in either Video or Capture mode.
2. Press the SHUTTER but ton (1) to select the general set tings
menu in the top navigation bar.
3. Press the MODE button (10) to enter the menu.
4. The MODE button (10) will scroll through the settings and
the SHUTTER button (1) will select/change them.

Video mode settings

Capture mode settings

Connecting the camera to an HDTV
1. Connect the Micro HDMI end of a micro HDMI to HDMI cable (not included) to the camera’s micro HDMI por t (14), and the other end to the HDTV’s HDMI port.
2. Turn on the HDTV and select the appropriate HDMI source.
3. Follow the ins tructions for ‘Playback of les’ mentioned
earlier in this manual.
4. When viewing is nished, turn off the camera and HDT V
before removing the HDMI cable.
Connecting the camera to a PC
There are two ways to download les from the camera’s Micro SD to a computer:
• By inserting the Micro SD into a card reader.
• By connecting the camera to a computer using the supplied USB cable.
Connecting the camera to a PC with the USB cable
1. Connect one end of the supplied USB cable to the camera’s
micro USB jack (4), and the other end to the PC’s USB port
and turn the camera on.
2. Turn on the camera, ‘Mass Storage’ will appear on the LCD
screen (7)
3. Open [My Computer] or [Windows Explorer] on your PC .
‘Removable Disk ’ will be in the drive list. Double-click the ‘Removable Disk ’ icon to view it s contents. Files stored on the camera are located in the folder named ‘ DCIM’.

4. Copy the les that you want to your PC.
How to use the PC camera function
1. Connect one end of the supplied USB cable to the camera’s micro USB jack (4), and the other end to the PC’s USB port
and turn the camera on.
2. Turn on the camera, then press the MODE button (10) to
switch from ‘Mass Storage’ mode to ‘PC Camera’.
3. If using Windows XP, Open [My Computer], double click ‘USB
video tool’. If using Window Vista, 7 or 8, the PC Camera function can only be used with third-party software (Skype, etc.)

Waterproof case
The Splash action camera includes a case that is waterproof up to 15 metres. When using the camera in a wet environment, always use the waterproof case.
Using the waterproof case
1. Open the waterproof cas e (11) by releasing the clip (12) on the
side of the case.
2. Insert the camera correctly so that the case closes easily and provides a tight seal.
3. Snap the clip (12) shut to ensure the case is waterproof.
4. To operate the camera, use the waterpro of POWER/ SHUTTER button (13).
Note: The other functions and buttons of the camera cannot be used whilst in the waterproof case. Access these buttons/ functions before inserting the camera into the case, or make sure the case is thoroughly dried before removing the camera.
Mount accessories
In order to use the camera for various outdoor activities, we have provided three different mounts.
• Mount (A) is used to x the camera to the handlebars on a bike.
• Mount (B) is used to x it to a helmet.
• Mount (C) is used to at tach the camera to at, clean,
smooth surfaces.

Fixing the camera to a bike
1. Unscrew both screws and remove the metal ring of Mount A.
2. Place the plastic section underneath the handlebar and place the metal ring over the handlebar.
3. Replace the screws and tighten them up.
4. If needed, choose extra connec tors from the three shown
and then x them to part (i) of Mount A.
5. Screw connector (ii) directly to the camera or the
camera case.
6. Attach the camera assembly to the Mount A assembly.

Fixing the camera to a helmet
1. Fix connector (iii) to Mount B as shown.
2. If needed, choos e extra connectors from the three shown
and then x them to connector (iii).
3. Screw connector (ii) direc tly to the camera or the camera case.
4. Attach the camera assembly to the Mount B assembly.
5. After xing the camera to the mount correctly, use the strap to x it to the helmet. Adjust the length according to the helmet ’s size, and then tie the strap up to your helmet.

Fixing the camera to a board/flat surface
1. Ensure the sur face is clean and dr y before applying the
adhesive mount.
2. Peel off adhesive paper and stick the mount in the desired
position.
3. Fix connector (iii) to Mount C as shown.
4. If needed, choose extra connec tors from the three shown
and then x them connector (iii).
5. Screw connector (ii) directly to the camera or the camera case.
6. Attach the camera assembly to the Mount C assembly.

Care for your Splash
Please DON’ T:
• Get the Splash wet , unless sealed in the included
waterproof case.
• Drop the Splash as this will invalidate your warranty.
• Open up the Splash. There are no user serviceable
parts inside.
• Expose the Splash to extreme temperatures or rapid changes
of hot to cold or vice ver sa.
Please DO:
• Clean the Splash with a soft dry cloth and no detergents.
