• Ensure that the b attery “lock key ” at the bottom of the camer a is unlocked
• Push the bat tery into the slot comple tely as below
• Start up the un it to check the ba ttery power. If the batt ery level is low, charge it using t he supplied po wer adaptor or USB po rt of a PC

Instructions for use
Installing th e TFT display
The Edge HD30W supp orts an ex ternal dedicated 2" TF T display, which can perform setup, playb ack, dele te and other functions on th e camera, allowing you to pr eview or play back the v ideo. Insta ll the display as sho wn below.
Inserting an d removing the memory card
The Edge HD30W supp orts ex ternal micro SD cards up to 64 GB.
Note: Altho ugh all micro SD cards above Class 6 c an be used, hig h-speed ca rds are recommended to enable smooth high-definition shooting.
Inserti ng the memor y card
1. Ensure that th e Edge HD30W is switched off
2. Insert the micro SD c ard into the memory card sl ot in the direction of the ar row as shown. A “cli ck” will ind icate that the c ard has been inserted cor rectly
Removing the m emory car d
1. Press the ce ntre of the exposed par t of the micro SD card and it will pop o ut slightly
2. You can then pull it out
Startup
Turn the power swi tch to the “ON ” position. Three red in dicators wil l be lit up (one on the fr ont cover, one on the t op cover and one on the display)
• The TFT dis play will be shown as right
• The LCD segme nt screen will b e shown as right
Setting the time and date
Set the time an d date by following these ste ps:
1. Turn on the camera to e nter recording standby mod e
2. Press the “M” but ton to enter the camera s etting men u
3. Press the < or > bu tton to select
4. Press the – or + butto n to select th e time setting option an d press the “O K” button to confirm
5. Press the < or > but ton to move the cu rsor to the ti me or date to be modified . Then press the – or + butto n to modify th e time and date and pres s “OK” to confirm
6. Press the “M” but ton to exit the menu and ret urn to recordin g standby mod e
Use the < or > but ton to select the item to th e left or right, and use th e + or – button to select th e item above or below of the s elected it em. After s election, press the “ OK” button to confirm .
Note: Pleas e ensure that th e date and time are correctly s et. The Edge HD30W will add the ti me to the photo/v ideo
according to this s etting.

Video recording

Starting video r ecording via G-SENSOR mode
Turn the G-Sensor key t o “ON” so th at the Edge HD30W can ac tively sense the change of grav ity. The cam era will automa tically start video r ecording when it is jolted or til ted etc. When t his mode is applied in fixed insta llation, for e xample when it is moun ted on a vehicle o r helmet, vi deo recording can begin wit hout the need to star t the recording in advance , conserving batte ry power an d meaning you won’t hav e to operate it manually. When th e camera does not sense a ny gravity c hange for 3 minute s, it will exit video reco rding
Parameter setting for video recording
To set the parame ters for vide o recording, perfor m the followin g operations:
1. Press the “ M” button to enter the se tting menu
2. Press the < or > butt on to select
3. Press the + or – bu tton to move the blue curs or to the sub-menu you want t o configure
4. Press the “OK” bu tton to enter the sub-me nu

180° rollover
• When this func tion is activated, upr ight video files can be obtai ned when using t he Edge HD30W to shoot video upside down.
OFF: upside- down video files can be obt ained when usin g the Edge HD30W to shoot video upsi de down.
ON: upright vi deo files can be o btained when using the Edge HD30W to s hoot video upside down.
Note: This fun ction is not available for PAL : 480p–100 FP S and NTSC: 4 80p–120 FPS.

You can activate o r deactivate the loop r ecording func tion. If it’s set to ON, t he video file wi ll be automati cally stored in a segment of 15 min utes; If it ’s set to OFF, the video file will be stor ed in a segment o f 30 minutes.

Auto standby
The Edge HD30W is se t to automatically enter st andby mode if no operatio n (photo shooting, vide o recording or button operatio n) is carried out in a certain a mount of time. Uploading audio/vide o/photo files to a PC
1. Use the USB cable t o connect the c amera to a PC
2. Switch on the Edge HD30W
3. Click the “My Com puter” ico n on the desk top and find the “Removabl e Disc”. If the cam era is not detected, clo se the “My Compu ter” windo w, wait, then reopen it . The “Remo vable Disc ” should then be displayed
4. Double click the “Rem ovable Disc ” icon
5. Copy/move the files to the P C’s hard drive
Viewing videos/photos on HDTV
• The recorde d files can also be played on a TV o r a display with an HDMI interfac e
• Ensure that your c amera is properly configur ed to NTSC (Nor th America) or PAL (Non-N orth America) video f ormat;
otherw ise, the vid eo and images on t he camera cannot be prope rly displayed
• Use the HDMI cab le to connect t he Edge HD30W to the T V set:

Using Wi-Fi
Thanks to t he Edge HD30W’s bu ilt-in Wi-Fi fea ture, it can be connected to a W i-Fi remote control, sm artphon e, tablet or PC, enabl ing it to be contro lled remotely.
Downloading the W i-Fi App
• The Wi-Fi ap p is available to download for fr ee at the Apple App Store and Go ogle Play
• Android use rs: Enter the G oogle Play store, searc h for “AEE APP” ( including quot ation mark s), download and install, following thi s user manual to con nect the Wi -Fi and operate
• iPhone user s: Enter the Apple App stor e, search for AEE, downloa d and install, following this u ser manual to conn ect the Wi-Fi an d operate. A PP icon:
Switching on Wi-F i
Switch the Wi- Fi button to the “ON” p osition
• The blue indic ator will star t to flash and the Wi-Fi signal i con

• Turn the camera on an d wait for the blu e Wi-Fi indicator to flash slow ly.
• Search for a Wi- Fi hotspot on a mobile re ceiving dev ice, selec t the “EDGE” network and connect (de fault password: ‘00000000’ ). The camera and the mob ile device will t hen be connected.
• Click the app icon
on the mobile d evice to display t he
icon shown in Fig . 1. Enter the interface sho wn
in Fig. 2 to remo tely view your c amera’s screen and set up p arameters.
Note: To indicate Wi-Fi conn ection failure, the
icon will appear. Sel ect “Yes” to try to conne ct again. If you select
“No ”, click the icon to enter the W LAN settings inter face or click the
icon to enter the main interface

Video recording
• Click the vide o recording mode icon

Trimming videos
When viewin g the downloaded files on a mo bile device , you can click the icon at the bottom o f the screen to enter the vid eo trimming interface sh own below (this function i s only availabl e for iPhone).
Changing Wi-Fi connection name and password
1. Changing the W i-Fi connec tion name: Connect th e Edge HD30W (with micr o SD installed) to the compute r and turn the cam era on. On the computer, double click “ My Computer ” to find and enter the removab le disk, and th en open the “WiFi.co nf” file in the f older “MISC”. Find “AP_ SSID=EDGE”. Cha nge the conten t following th e equal sign “=” to yo ur desired name a nd save it.
2. Changing the Wi-Fi co nnection p assword: Connect th e Edge HD30W (with micr o SD installed ) to the computer a nd turn the cam era on. On th e computer, double click th e icon “My Computer” to find an d enter the rem ovable disk , and then open the “WiF i.conf” file in the folder “MISC ”. Find “AP_ PASSWD=00000000”. Change t he content following the equ al sign “=” to your de sired password (con taining at leas t 8 digits) and save it.
Note: If the mic ro SD is formatt ed, you need to reconnec t the Edge HD30W to your camera in orde r to find the folder
“MISC” and chan ge the name and pa ssword.
Note: If oper ating the cam era using its b uttons and using the Wi-F i based remo te control at th e same time, t he Edge
HD30W will give pri ority to the o peration command from th e camera.

The Edge HD30W is suit able for handheld or hands-fr ee use in most s ituations by us ing the appropr iate accessories. The Edge HD30W is fit ted with a waterproof hou sing which can be u sed to record v ideos underwater.
Waterproof hous ing and anti-fog ins erts
The Edge HD30W ’s waterproof housing has a ra ting of up to IP68 and can protect t he camera 100 meters underwa ter. Follow these s teps to load the camera into t he waterproof housing:
In order to avoi d and reduce the d ewing on the glas s of the waterproof housin g, we sugges t putting the anti-fog insert ins ide the water proof case in environmen ts with a wide t emperatur e range.
The plug brac ket can fix the wa terproof ho using firmly onto the mount conn ector clip, as shown above .
The waterp roof housing is a p recision comp onent. Wh en using the wat erproof ho using, pleas e adhere to the following precautions:
1. Do not put th e waterproo f housing in a place w here corros ive gases are e asily generated due to str ong acid or alkali. Do no t bring the waterproof ho using into conta ct with chem ical or corros ive object s, such as strong acid or alkali
2. To avoid deformation, do n ot expose the waterpr oof housing to te mperature s higher than 50°C or lower than –10°C for an ext ended period of time
3. To avoid deterior ation of the wa terproof pe rformance, do not expo se the video camera to sun shine for an extende d period of tim e
4. Befor e use, ensure t hat the O-r ing is intact , the seal is free from any debr is, the hous ing is fully seal ed and the buckle is tig ht
5. After using the hou sing in sea wate r, wash it in fresh wate r and dry it in a cool place

Using the curv ed and adhesi ve mounts
The Edge HD30W come s with a curved and a flat adhes ive mount for in stallation o n different surfaces . You c an easily attach th e camera onto a h elmet, a veh icle or the sur face of other devices.
Precautio ns for the using t he 3M double -sided foam tape
1. Before fixin g the 3M double -sided foam tape, pleas e select an appropriate cur ved or flat surface for th e tape to stick to
2. Before using the 3M foa m tape, pleas e clean the surface that th e tape will be adhered to
3. Before applyi ng the 3M foam ta pe, we recomm end heating the surface (w ith a hair dryer, for example), esp ecially when the temp erature is below –20°C

3. The use of the di gital zooming f unction during shootin g will have a slight i mpact on the im age quality

5. To play a high-definition v ideo file smoothly, it is recom mended that yo u use a PC or similar device
6. I f you enable the c yclic recording function f or long period or you frequ ently shoot /d elete photos, the mem ory card may have data fr agments , meaning you may n ot be able to sto re or shoot pho tos. Pleas e back up the data to an external s torage device and forma t the memor y card
7. When the camer a is used in a high-temperat ure environm ent, the lattice scre en may become bla ck. This is normal and will not aff ect functionality
