IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
1. Read all instructions. Misuse of appliance may result in personal injury.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3. The appliance must not be immersed. To protect against electrical shock do not immerse cord, plugs or appliance in water or other liquid. Avoid spillage on the connector.
4. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are closely supervised and instructed concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
5. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualied persons in order to avoid a hazard.
6. Unplug Electric Kettle from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
7. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest Authorised Service Centre for examination, repair, or adjustment.
8. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in re, electric shock or injury to persons.
9. The Electric Kettle is only to be used with the base provided.
10. Do not use the appliance outdoors.
11. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
12. To disconnect, turn any control to “OFF”, then remove plug from wall outlet.

13. The heating element surface is subject to residual heat after use. Do not touch hot surface. Use handles.
14. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
15. The Electric Kettle should only be used to heat water.
16. Do not use the Electric Kettle without lid properly closed.
17. Do not use the Electric Kettle with a loose or weakened handle.
18. Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.
19. Do not overll Electric Kettle. If the Electric Kettle is overlled, boiling water may be ejected.
20. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the brewing cycles.
21. Do not clean Electric Kettle with abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or other abrasive materials.
22. This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, ofces or other working environments;
- farmhouses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
- bed and breakfast type environments.
23. WARNING: To prevent electric shock, unplug before servicing.
24. WARNING: Do not remove the lid while the water is boiling.
25. CAUTION: Position the lid so that steam is directed away from the handle.
26. CAUTION: Do not operate the kettle on an inclined plane. Do not operate the kettle unless the element is fully immersed. Do not move while the kettle is switched on.

Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, fire, or electrical shock.

NOTE: The Electric Kettle has an earthed
plug. To reduce the risk of electrical shock, this plug will fit in an outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit in the outlet, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way.
Do not use an extension cord. If the power supply cord is too short, have a qualified electrician or service technician install an outlet near the appliance.
A short power supply cord (or detachable power supply cord) should be used to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
