Description

The Kidde KN-COB-DP2 AC/DC carbon monoxide alarm plugs
directly into your home’s standard wall outlet making installa­tion quick and easy. The 2-AA battery backup provides protec­tion even during power outages when many CO incidences
occur. The tamper resist feature can be activated to deter tam­pering or theft of the unit by sounding a loud alarm if the unit
has been unplugged or come loose from the outlet. It is a great
option for property owners that are concerned with theft or
interference with the CO alarm. The KN-COB-DP2 alarm uses
advanced electrochemical sensing technology to monitor for
carbon monoxide levels in your home. This alarm has a com­pact design that does not conceal secondary receptacle space
in a standard outlet.

The Kidde KN-COB-DP2 plug-in carbon monoxide alarm with
battery backup provides you and your family with a warning
signal to protect against dangerous levels of carbon monoxide
in your home. The rotating AC blades allow for use in vertically
or horizontally oriented outlets and the preinstalled backup
batteries with pull tab make setup fast and easy. The green
LED shows that AC power is present and the alarm is working
properly. The red LED will illuminate when the alarm detects
carbon monoxide and indicates that you and your family
should move to fresh air. The Low Battery Hush feature tempo­rarily silences the low battery chirp in order to maintain protec­tion without having to replace the batteries at an inconvenient
time. With the Event Memory feature, if the unit has detected
a CO concentration of 100ppm or greater the green LED will
flash every 10 seconds, which can be helpful in recognizing a
CO event after being away from home. This carbon monoxide
alarm is UL Listed and offers a 10 year limited warranty.

Specifications

The carbon monoxide alarm shall be Kidde Model KN-COB-DP2
or approved equal. It shall be powered by a 120V AC, 60 Hz
source, along with 2 AA backup batteries. The temperature
operating range shall be between 40°F and 100°F (4°C and
38°C) and the humidity operating range shall be between 10%­95% relative humidity, non-condensing.

The CO sensor shall be of a fuel cell design and shall
meet the sensitivity requirements of Underwriters Laboratories
UL2034 Single and Multiple Station Carbon Monoxide Alarms.

The alarm shall include a test/reset button. If pressed and
released during normal operation, it shall electronically simulate
the presence of CO and cause the unit to go into alarm. This
sequence tests the unit’s electronics to ensure proper operation.
If pressed during alarm mode, the unit will be silenced and will
begin monitoring CO levels again.

In accordance with UL 2034, the CO sensor will not alarm to
levels of CO below 30 ppm and will alarm in the following time
range when exposed to the corresponding levels of CO.

70 ppm CO concentration 60 – 240 minutes
150 ppm CO concentration 10 – 50 minutes
400 ppm CO concentration 4 – 15 minutes

The alarm shall include a piezoelectric horn that is rated at 85
decibels at 10 feet. When the unit detects carbon monoxide,
the alarm pattern will be four (4) short beeps – followed by five
(5) seconds of silence – followed by four (4) short beeps.

The unit shall contain an End of Life Notification. Ten (10)
years after the alarm is first powered, it will chirp two times
every 30 seconds to indicate it is time to replace the alarm. The
End of Life Hush feature will allow the end of life “chirps” to be
silenced for 3 day intervals for a total of 30 days. The unit shall
be listed to UL 2034. It shall include a 10 year manufacturer’s
warranty.
