Situation:
Due to part obsolescence, the A20 ADC and A70 Passthrough assemblies have been redesigned. The
new assemblies have reference designations of A21 ADC assembly and A71 Passthrough assembly
and require firmware version A.09.01 or greater to installed in the analyzer. The new assemblies are
not compatible with the old assemblies. The A20 ADC assembly is no longer available for repair. The
A70 Passthrough assembly will continue to be available for repair.
Solution/Action:
1. When replacing an A20 ADC with an A21 ADC, the A70 Passthrough must be replaced with the
A71 Passthrough. If the analyzer contains option AY7 (second input channel), the second A20
ADC must also be replaced with an A21 ADC.
2. The analyzer firmware must be upgraded the version to A.09.01 or greater. Firmware upgrades
are available on the web using the URL http://www.agilent.com/find/89400 or upgrade kits can be
purchased using part number 89400-84401. To verify the firmware version that is installed press
System Utility, more, firmware version.
