•Severallayersofheavyclothing
mayinterferewithproper
positioningofbeltsandreduce
theoveralleffectivenessofthe
system.
•Keepbeltbucklesfreeofany
obstructionthatmayprevent
securelocking.
•Damagedorwornbeltsinthecab
orsleeper,subjectedtoexcessive
stretchforcesfromcrashes,cuts
ortears,ornormalwear,mustbe
replaced,theymaynotprotectyou
ifyouhaveanaccident.
•Ifbeltsshowdamagetoanypart
ofassembly,suchaswebbing,
bindings,bucklesorretractors,
theymustbereplaced.
•Donotallowsafetybeltsto
becomedamagedbygetting
caughtindoororseathardware,
orrubbingagainstsharpobjects.
•Thebeltsmustbekeptcleanorthe
retractorsmaynotworkproperly.
•Neverbleachordyeseatbelts:
chemicalscanweakenthem.Do,
however,keepthemcleanby
followingthecarelabelonthe
belts.Letthemdrycompletely
beforeallowingthemtoretract.

unoccupiedpassengerseatis
fullywounduponitsretractor,
sothatthebelttongueisinits
stowedposition.Thisreducesthe

•Donotmodifyordisassemblethe
seatbeltsinyourvehicle.They
willnotbeavailabletokeepyou
andyourpassengerssafe.
•Ifanyseatbeltisnotworking
properly,seeanauthorized
KenworthDealerforrepairor
replacement.
TetherBelts
Tetherbeltsareinstalledonsuspension
seats.Theyhelpsecuretheseattothe
oortorestrainitincaseofasudden
stoporanaccident.
FixedTethers
IfyourKenworthT2000hasbeen
equippedwithxedlengthtethers,no
manualadjustmentisrequired.The
sameinspectionandreplacement
guidelinesshouldbeusedasstatedin
SafetyRestraintSystem-Inspection
onpage5-56.
WARNING:Donotremove,
modify,orreplacethetether
beltsystemwithadifferent
tethersystem.Afailedor
missingtetherbeltcould
allowtheseatbasetofully

SleeperRestraintSystem
ForKenworthT2000cabsequipped
withasleeper,besuretousethe
lowerbunkrestraintdevices.Your
vehiclemayhavebeltswhicheither
areoverthebunkorcovertheopening.
Ofcourse,youdonotneedtouse
arestraintifyousleepinaparked
vehicle.Butanyoneusingthesleeper
whilethetruckisinmotionshouldbe
restrainedinasafetydevice.
WARNING:Besurethe
restraintsystemisusedwhen
anyoneisoccupyingthe
sleeperwhilethevehicleis
moving.Inanaccident,an
unrestrainedpersonlyingina
sleeperbunkcouldbeinjured
orkilled.Heorshecouldbe

womenworrythatinacrashtheseat
beltcouldhurtthebaby .Butifa
womanwearsherbeltproperly,low
