Doorscanbelockedfromtheinsideby usingthelockbutton.Closethedoor thenpushthebuttondowntolock. Doorsautomaticallyunlockwhenyou openthemfrominside,andcanbe lockedfromtheoutsidewiththekey only.
Asstandardequipment,twokeysare providedforthedoorsandignition. Whennecessary,additionallocks andkeysareprovidedforstorage compartments.

Thesystemincludestwokeyfobsthat providesecurerollingcodetechnology thatpreventssomeonefromrecording theentrysignal.

PresstheUNLOCKbuttononce.The driver'sdoorwillunlockandtheparking lightswillcomeonfor40seconds.
ToUnlockthePassenger'sDoor
PresstheUNLOCKbuttononceand pressagainwithin5seconds.The passengerdoorwillunlock.
ToLockBothDoors
PresstheLOCKbutton.Thedoorswill lockandtheparkinglightswillcome onfor2seconds.Ifthedoorsareopen theywillnotlock.
NOTE
Ifthissystemisretrotonvehicles builtbeforeMarch2002,doorsmay lockwhenopen.

TherangeoftheRKEsystemshould beapproximately30feet.Thiswill bereducedifitisoperatedcloseto otherRFsourcessuchasTV/radio transmittersandcelltowers.
Batteries
ThekeyfobusesoneCR2032, 3Vbattery.Batteriesshouldlast approximatelythreeyears,depending onuse.Consistentlyreducedrange isanindicatorthatthebatteryneeds replacement.Batteriesareavailable atmostdiscount,hardwareanddrug stores.
ToReplacetheBattery
1.Removerearcoverfromkeyfob.
2.Removethebattery.
3.Installnewbattery.
4.Reinstallcover.
5.Synchronizethekeyfob.
Synchronization
Thekeyfobmayneedtobe synchronizedtothevehiclewhenthe batteryisreplaced,orwhenthekey fobhasnotbeenusedforanextended periodtime.
ToSynchronizeaKeyFob
1.Holdthekeyfobnearthecenter gaugearea(middleofthe instrumentpanel).
2.Presseitherthelockorunlock buttontwicewithin2seconds.
°Whenthekeyfobis
resynchronized,thedoors willlockorunlock.
°Ifthefobfailstosynchronize,
itcouldbeprogrammedtoa differentvehicleorcouldhave failed.

IftheHoodSafetyLockmalfunctions, haveitrepairedbyanAuthorized ServiceCenterorKenworthDealer.
Toclosethehood,youmustrst releasetheLock.

Thestandarddriver'sseatcanbe adjustedforwardandrearwardaswell asupanddown.Theseatbackangle canalsobeadjusted.Thesethree movementsareeachcontrolledby leverslocatedeitherbeneathoratthe sidesoftheseat.

1.Removethe capfromthespring chamber.
2.Removethe releasestud assemblyfromthe sidepocket,and removetherelease nutandwasherfrom thereleasestud.
3.Slideoutthe releasestud.
4.Inserttherelease studthroughthe openinginthespring chamberwherethe capwasremoved. Insertitintothe pressureplate.Turn thereleasestud1/4 turnclockwiseinthe pressureplate.This securesthecross pinintothecrosspin areaofthepressure plateandlocksitinto themanualrelease position.
5.Assemblethe releasestudwasher andnutonthe releasestud.
6.Withawrench, turnthereleasestud assemblynutuntilthe compressionspring is90-95percent caged.Whiledoing this,checktomake surethepushrod (adapterpushrod orservicepush rod)isretracting. Donotover-torque thereleasestud assembly.(S-Cam typemaximum:50 lb-ft,Wedgetype maximum:30lb-ft). Thespringbrakeis nowmechanically released.
