Special features

ACTIVE RECEPTION (A.R.) (KTF-3010 only)
When t he receiving frequency changes by a t uning operation or recalling a preset station, t he tuner automatically switches the IF BAND, RF ATT and ANT A/ B functions to obtain the optimum reception conditions for the signals being received.
RDS (Radio Data System) & EON(Enhanced Other Netw ork) reservation
The RDS makes it poss ible to selec t stations acc ording to their program types (P TY s earc h) and to display the station names. Moreover, the RDS automatic memory function which stores up to 40 RDS s tations automatically in the memory is featured. This func tion chec ks the RDS data when storing stations in the memory to avoid storing stations which are broadcasting the same program simultaneously. In addition, by using the EON function which administers the information of ot her stations, you can reserve the desired information such as traffic announcement, news and so on, even though these types of programs are not currently broadcast. While listening to a station which makes the EON indicator light, t he tuner aut omat ically selects the station w hich starts broadcast ing the program of the desired information. When the program of the desired information ends, the tuner automatically returns to the previous program. If this tuner is connected t o a KENWOOD am plifier wit h t he system control cord, the am plifier autom at ically sw itches the input source to the t uner input w hen t he program of t he reserved information starts, even when you are listening to the input source other than the tuner.

STATION PRESET
This unit features a function w hich stores the broadcast stat ion you are listening t o w it h easy operations and allows you to store a name for the station. It is very convenient to register the desired st ations. Also, you can recall the stations w ith easy operations.

RDS is a system which transmits useful information (digital data) for FM broadcasts together with the broadcast signal. Tuners and receivers designed for RDS reception can extract the information from the broadcast signal for use with various functions such as automatic display of the station name.
This unit is equipped w ith the follow ing functions utilizing RDS data: (Be sure to set the automatic memory function - otherw ise, the RDS function w ill not w ork.)
9
RDS Auto Memory function
RDS stations and FM station are automatically selected and stored in the memory (up to 40 stations).
PTY (Program Type Identification) Search (FM band)
The tuner automatically searches for a station which is currently broadcasting a specified program type (genre).
EON (Enhanced Other Network) reservation
When you select one or two of the types of information beforehand, the tuner automatically switches to the station which is broadcasting the program of the reserved information even though you are listening to another station. When the program of the reserved information ends, the tuner returns to the previous station.
RT (Radio Text) indicator: (See below.)
Some RDS stations transmit the text data.
