Low Profile Earphone Kits
The Kenwood Low Profile Earphone Kits for Two­Way Radio communications are designed to permit remote and discrete operation of the portable radio.
These products feature:
• earphone with acoustic tube assembly
• remote push-to-talk switch (PTT)
• optional noise attenuating kit for high noise environments
optional flexible open ear inserts for ambient
noise
The 2-wire palm mic kit combines the microphone and PTT in the same housing. The 3-wire mini lapel mic kit has a separate microphone and pendant PTT.

Installation
(1) Turn the radio off. (2) As required, remove any dust caps or
covers from the radio accessory connector.
(3) Attach the earphone kit to the radio
accessory connector.
(4) If applicable, install appropriate
accessory clamp.

Operation
1. Turn the radio on and operate it as explained in
the operating instructions supplied with the radio. Installing the earphone kit (1) bypasses the radios speaker and routes the output to the earphone element and (2) disables the radio’s microphone and enables the remote mic.
2. The 2-wire palm mic kit has two cables
extended from the radio connector plug, one for the earphone with acoustic tube and the second for the combined microphone and PTT switch.
The 3-wire mini lapel mic kit has three cables extended from the radio connector plug, allowing the PTT switch to be concealed in the palm of the hand with the microphone clipped to a coat lapel or shirt pocket.
