• When listening through headphones with remote controller, set the volume of the main unit to around 40 and adjust with the volume control of the remote controller.
The letter written on the hand in each illustration accompanying the text indicates the position of the pressed key on the unit.

Press either key to skip tracks.

P.MODE/SEARCH (Play mode/Search) key
Press when using the program playback function or press together with one of the Skip keys to initiate the fast forward or fast reverse operation.

Press for using various playback features.

Press to play a disc, pause playback or switch power ON.

Press to stop the disc, turn power OFF or recharge the unit.

Press to switch the Digital Anti-Shock Circuit which prevents sound from skipping.

How to connect the DPC-781 to a digital recording component through the OPT. OUT jack.
1 Connect the DPC-781 to the household AC power supply through the
provided AC adaptor and play the DPC-781.
2 Set the D.A.S.C.to OFF. 3 Put the DPC-781 to pause mode. 4 Set the digital recording component ready for recording. 5 Start recording on the digital recording component. 6 Restart playback of the DPC-781.
• Secure the disc by pushing a position near the center hole until it clicks.

Auto power-Off function
If no operation key has been pressed for 3 minutes while the unit is in the stop mode, the power is turned OFF automati­cally to prevent battery power consumption.

Skipping to or searching a desired track

• The same number of tracks as the times the key is pressed can be skipped.
• When the 4 key is pressed once during playback, the played position returns to the beginning of the current track being played.

Fast forward, fast reverse

Perform the following procedure during playback.
1 Press the P.MODE/SEARCH key.

Various playback features

Pressing the REPEAT key in the play or stop mode allows you to enjoy various playback features.

Press the REPEAT key.

Each press switches the repeat modes as follows.
1 Cancelled position
Returns to the normal play mode.
2 One-track repeat
The track being played or selected track will be played repeatedly.
3 All-track repeat
All tracks on the disc will be played repeatedly.
4 Shuffle play
All tracks on the disc will be played in a random or­der.

Compensation of low frequencies

The low frequencies sound which is felt in headphone can be boosted.

Each press of the key switches the mode as follows.
1 Bass Boost 1
Low frequencies are boosted.
2 Bass Boost 2
Low frequencies are boosted more than Bass Boost 1.
3 Bass Boost OFF
Normal tone reproduc­tion. Indicator goes off.

• Playback resumes from the position where the key is released.
• The REPEAT key may sometimes be invalid if it is pressed near the end of a track. In this case, press the REPEAT key after playback of the current track has completed.
• In case shuffle play is selected during playback, the playback of the selected mode starts after the current track being played has completed.
• The repeat of 2 or 3 above stops after 16 times of repeats.

Programming tracks in desired order

Desired tracks can be played in the desired order.
Preparations
• Enter the stop mode by pressing the 7 key while playback.

Note on the key operation

The operation keys of the main unit except for the volume control are defeated. This position prevents undesired operation when the unit is put in a bag, etc.
