Installing Your iPad®

Turning the Keyboard On and Off

When the iPad is placed in the groove, the magnetic sensor automatically turns on the keyboard. The Status Indicator Light will glow blue for 3 seconds to indicate the power is on.

The keyboard automatically turns off when the iPad is removed from the groove, when the Folio is closed or folded in viewing mode.

Pairing

1 On your iPad, tap Settings.

2 Open Bluetooth and make sure Bluetooth is on.

3 On the Keyboard, press the Pairing Key for 3 seconds. The Status Indicator Light starts

blinking.

4 The Keyboard now appears on your iPad screen. Tap Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard.

5 Your iPad screen displays a passkey. Enter the passkey on the Keyboard, and press Enter. 6 Your iPad screen shows the Keyboard as Connec ted. On the Keyboard, the Status

Indicator Light turns off. You can now use your Keyboard to type in any app.

NOTE: The Keyboard will go into sleep mode if left idle for 15 minutes. To wake up the Keyboard, press any key to resume the connection.

To extend battery life, turn off the keyboard when not in use.

Troubleshooting

I can’t connect the Keyboard to my iPad.

Try the following in sequence. You can stop when the problem is fixed. 1 Make sure you have installed and set up Bluetooth correctly on your iPad. Check the

documentation that came with your iPad for instructions.

2 Make sure that the Keyboard is within range of your iPad. Maximum Bluetooth range is

about 10 meters/33 feet.

3 If your iPad is connected to other Bluetooth devices, you may need to disconnec t some

devices before you can connect to the Keyboard.

4 If you changed any Bluetooth settings on your iPad, try connecting the Keyboard to

your iPad again.

5 Make sure that both your iPad batter y and the Keyboard battery are sufficiently

charged.

• Do not modif y, disassemble, open, drop, crush, pun cture, or shred the KeyFolio.

• The KeyFolio contains a lithium-polymer battery, which is flammable. Keep away from o pen flame.

• To prevent short circ uit or other potential hazards, pre vent metal objects such as c oins or keys from coming into contac t with the KeyFolio, and do not ins ert foreign objects in to the KeyFolio or its ports.

• Keep your KeyFolio dr y, and do not use with wet hands. Mois ture in or on the KeyFolio may lead to elect rical shock. If ex posed to moisture during use, unplug th e KeyFolio immediately. If your KeyFolio ge ts wet, have a qualified techni cian evaluate the product ’s safety b efore resuming use.

• Your KeyFolio may become w arm during operation. This is normal. H owever, to prevent overheating, kee p area around KeyFolio ventilated and do no t place anything on or around KeyFo lio during operation . Do not operate your KeyFolio n ear a heat source, heat vent, or in direc t sunlight. Your KeyFolio should be use d in temperatures betwe en 50–80°F (10–27°C).

• If the KeyFo lio begins to swell or expand, emit s a strong odor, or becomes hot to th e touch, discontinue use of th e KeyFolio, and have the produc t examined by a qualified ele ctronic technician.

• Inspect your Ke yFolio and cables for damage befo re use. Have any damaged part repaired o r replaced before use.

• Your KeyFolio is not user se rviceable. Do not at tempt to open, modif y, or repair.

• If the batter y inside the KeyFolio leaks for any reas on, discontinue use, and do not allow th e KeyFolio’s contents to c ontact your skin or eyes. In the e vent of accidental contac t wash the affec ted area with large amounts of wa ter and seek medical attenti on immediately.

• Your KeyFoli o is not a toy. Keep them away from children. Insur e that all persons who use this produ ct read and follow thes e warnings and instructions.

• Do not leave the KeyFolio on prolonged charge when not in use.

Enhancing Performance by Proper Care and Storage of your KeyFolio

• Do not store yo ur KeyFolio either fully charged or disc harged. It is best to store your Key Folio with at least 30 % charge remaining . To check the charge level of yo ur KeyFolio press the batter y indicator button.

• Avoid frequent full di scharges because this puts addi tional strain on the batter y in the KeyFolio. Charge your KeyFolio b etween uses even if it is no t fully discharged. The lithium-po lymer battery used in this produc t has no “memory effe ct.” Therefore, several par tial discharges with frequent recharges are be tter than one full discharge, and will help p rolong the life of your KeyFolio. Shor t batter y life in laptops is mainly caused by heat , rather than charge/discharge patterns.

at elevated temp eratures (such as in your car) or in high humidity.

Disposing of your KeyFolio

• Do n ot incinerate or dispose of your KeyF olio in a fire or microwave.

• Do not dispose o f your KeyFolio as ordinary refus e, as it contains a lithium-poly mer battery. Consult your local municipal or c ivil authority for instruc tions on correctly disp osing of a lithium-polymer bat tery.

• In the USA and Canada: This mark

indicates your Key Folio can be recycl ed by the Rechargeable

Batter y Recovery Corporatio n (“RBRC”). When you are ready to dispos e of the KeyFolio, please contact th e RBRC at 1-800-8-BATTERY o r www.rbrc.org.

Installation de votre iPad®

Activer et désactiver le clavier

Lorsque l’iPad est placé dans la rainure du clavier, le capteur magnétique active automatiquement le clavier. Levoyant d’état s’allume et reste bleu pendant 3 secondes.

Je ne peux pas connecter le clavier à mon iPad.

Suivez la procédure ci-dessous. Vous pouvez l’interrompre lorsque le problème est résolu. 1 Vérifiez que vous avez installé et configuré Bluetooth correctement sur votre iPad.

Amélioration des performances grâce à une manipulation et un stockage corrects de votre KeyFolio

• Ne pas ranger le KeyFolio s’il est complètement chargé ou déchargé. Il est préférable de le stocker lorsqu’il reste au moins 30 % de charge. Pour connaître le niveau de chargement du KeyFolio, appuyez sur la touche d’indicateur de batterie.

• Éviter les dé charges complètes fréquen tes qui endommagent la batteri e du KeyFolio. Charger votre KeyFolio après chaqu e utilisation, même s’il n’est pas complètem ent déchargé. Ein- und Ausschalten der Tastatur

Wenn Sie das iPad in der Rille platzieren, schaltet der magnetische Sensor die Tastatur automatisch ein. Die Statusanzeigeleuchte leuchtet drei Sekunden lang blau.

Die Tastatur wird automatisch ausgeschaltet, wenn das iPad aus der Rille entnommen bzw. das Folio geschlossen oder in den Betrachtungsmodus geklappt wird.

Fehlerbehebung

Ich kann die Tastatur nicht mit meinem iPad verbinden.

Führen Sie folgende Schritte in angegebener Reihenfolge aus. Sie können unterbrechen, sobald das Problem behoben ist.

1 Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Bluetooth-Funktion auf Ihrem iPad ordnungsgemäß

installiert und eingerichtet wurde. Anweisungen dazu finden Sie in der Dokumentation zu Ihrem iPad.

2 Stellen Sie sicher, dass sich die Tastatur in Reichweite Ihres iPads bef indet. Die

maximale Bluetooth-Reichweite liegt bei etwa 10 Metern.

3 Wenn Ihr iPad mit anderen Bluetooth-Geräten verbunden ist, müssen Sie vor dem

Verbinden der Tastatur eventuell einige Verbindungen trennen.

4 Falls Sie Bluetooth-Einstellungen auf Ihrem iPad geänder t haben, versuchen Sie, erneut

eine Verbindung zwischen der Tastatur und dem iPad herzustellen.

• Untersuchen Sie Key Folio und Kabel vor der Verwendung auf S chäden. Lassen Sie etwaige beschädig te Teile v or Gebrauch reparieren oder aus tauschen.

• Ihr KeyFolio kann nicht vo m Benutzer gewartet wer den. Versuchen Sie nicht, die Teile zu öffnen, Änderungen daran vorzunehmen oder sie zu reparieren.

• Wenn der Batterien im KeyFolio ausläuft, verwenden Sie es nicht mehr und achten Sie darau f, dass der Inhalt des KeyFo lio nicht mit Haut oder Augen in Berührung komm t. Wenn es doch zu Kontakt mit der ausgetrete nen Flüssigkeit kommt, spülen Sie den betro ffenen Bereich mit reichli ch Wasser und suchen Sie sofor t einen Arzt auf.

• Das KeyFolio ist kein Spie lzeug. Bewahren Sie es außerhalb der Reichwei te von Kindern auf. Sorgen Sie dafür, dass alle Personen, di e dieses Produkt verwenden, diese Warnhinweise und Anweisungen lesen und befolgen.

Belassen Sie das KeyFo lio nicht in übermäßig langen Ladezyk len, wenn das Gerät nicht verwen det wird.

Steigerung der Leistung durch sachgemäße Pﬂege und Wartung des KeyFolio

• L agern Sie die KeyFolio nicht in vollständig ge ladenem bzw. entladenem Zustand. D ie KeyFolio sollte am beste n mit einer Restkapazität von mindest ens 30 % gelagert werden.Drü cken Sie die Taste für die Batteriens tandsanzeige, um den Ladestat us Ihres KeyFolio zu prüfen.

• Verbinde n Sie das KeyFolio zum Prüfen des Batte rienladestands über das integrie rte USB-Kabel mit einer Stromquelle. Pr üfen Sie, ob die LED-Bat teriestatusanzeige grün leuchte t. Vermeiden Sie es, das KeyFol io häufig vollständig zu entladen, da dies den Ba tterien zusätzliche belas tet. Laden Si e das KeyFolio auf, wenn es nicht ve rwendet wird, auch wenn es nich t vollständig entladen wurde. Der in diesem Produkt verwendete Lithium-Polymer-Bat terien weist keinen Memor y-Effekt auf. Daher sind mehrere Teilentladungen mit häu figer Wiederaufladung b esser als eine vollständige Entladung und tragen zur Verlängerung der L ebensdauer des KeyFolio bei . Eine verkürzte Batterienl ebensdauer bei Noteboo ks wird häufig durch Hitze anstell e von Lade- und Endladezyk len verursacht.

Entsorgen des KeyFolio

• Verbrenn en Sie das KeyFolio nicht und entsorge n Sie es nicht in Feuer oder Mikrowellen strahlung.
