RUSH DELAY sets the delay between the time the power switch is pressed and the time power is actually supplied to the monitor’s circuits. STD. : Power turns on approximately
1 second after the power switch is pressed.
SLOW : Power turns on approximately
3 seconds after the power switch is pressed.
* When turning on multiple Color-
Video Monitors simultaneously, it is recommended to use STD. or SLOW settings to reduce the rush current of the entire system.

BASIC CONNECTION EXAMPLE
Notes:
Before connecting your system, make sure that all units are turned off.
The illustration below shows some examples of different connections. Terminal connections may differ depending on the component connected.
Be sure to refer to the instructions provided with the unit(s) you are connecting.
Each pair of input (IN) and output (OUT) terminals are bridge-connected.
If you’re not connecting any equipment to a bridged output (OUT) terminal, be sure not to connect any other cables to the bridged output (OUT)
terminal as this will cause the terminating resistance switch to open (auto terminate function).
When making a bridge connection, connect the input (IN) and output (OUT) terminals on the monitor to separate video components.
(For example, if both terminals are connected to the same VCR, resonance may occur except during playback. This is caused by the same video signal “looping” between the VCRs, and is not a malfunction.)
Select the video input signal (INPUT A(VIDEO) or INPUT B (VIDEO/Y/C)) with the INPUT SELECT buttons on the front panel. When both
VIDEO B terminals are connected (input) at the same time, the Y/C terminal has priority.

No colors, wrong color, or dark picture.
Unnatural, irregularly colored, or distorted picture.
Dark stripes appear at the top and bottom of the screen, picture vertically squeezed.
The overall picture size is too small.
Function buttons on the front panel do not function. The INPUT SELECT buttons do not function.
Points to be checked
Is the power plug loosened or disconnected? Is the main power turned OFF? Is the video signal output from the connected
component? Is the input signal selected properly?
Is the video cable disconnected?
Is the audio signal output from the connected component?
Is the volume output set to minimum?
Is the audio cable disconnected?
Is the monitor close to a device generating a strong magnetic field?
Is the color system selected properly?
Has the picture control setting (CONTRAST, BRIGHT, CHROMA or PHASE) been changed?
Is the monitor close to a speaker, magnet or any other device generating a strong magnetic field?
Is the aspect ratio set to 16:9?
Has the UNDER SCAN button been pressed so the UNDER SCAN button lights?
Has control of the buttons been locked? (Has the CONTROL LOCK function been set to ON?)
Is input selection under external control? (Has the REMOTE ENABLE function been set to valid?)
Measures (Remedy)
Firmly insert the power plug. Turn the main power ON. (See page 6.) Set the connected component correctly.
Select the required video signal input with the Input select button. (See page 10.)
Connect the video signal cable firmly. (See pages 16 and 17.)
Set the connected component correctly.
Adjust the speaker volume with the VOLUME/ SELECT button. (See page 10.)
Connect the audio signal cable firmly. (See pags 16 and 17.)
Move the device away from the monitor until the picture stabilizes.
Set COLOR SYSTEM in the <MENU> screen to AUTO. (See page 12.)
Set each picture control to the standard setting. (See page 9.) Press the COLOR OFF button and BLUE CHECK button to adjust. (See page 11.)
Move the device away from the monitor and turn the monitor’s power off. Wait at least 30 minutes, then turn the power on again.
Switch the aspect ratio to 4:3 with the ASPECT button on the front panel.
Press the UNDER SCAN button to turn off the button. (See page 4.)
Set CONTROL LOCK in the <SET-UP MENU> screen to OFF. (See pages 13 and 14.)
Set REMOTE ENABLE to OFF (invalid). (See page 18.)
TROUBLESHOOTING
Solutions to common problems related to your monitor are described here. If none of the solutions presented here solves the problem, unplug the monitor and consult a JVC-authorized dealer or service center for assistance.
The following are not malfunctions:
When a bright still image (such as a white cloth) is displayed for a long period, it may appear to be colored. This is due to the structure of the cathode ray tube and will be deleted when another image is displayed.
You experience a mild electric shock when you touch the picture tube. This phenomenon is due to a normal buildup of static electricity on the CRT and is not harmful.
The monitor emits a strange sound when the room temperature changes suddenly. This is only a problem if an abnormality appears on the screen as well.
If two or more monitors are operated next to each other, their images may shake or be distorted. This phenomenon is due to mutual interference; it is not a malfunction. Move the monitors away from each other until the interference disappears or turn the power off on any monitor that is not being used.

HOW TO USE EXTERNAL CONTROL
ABOUT EXTERNAL CONTROL
This monitor is provided with an external control terminal. MAKE (make contact) or TRIG. (trigger) system can be selected by the setting of REMOTE SYSTEM in the <SET-UP MENU>. MAKE (make contact system): The functino is controlled by short-circuiting or disconnecting each control terminal with pin 15
(GND).
TRG. (trigger system) : The function is controlled by short-circuiting with pulses (for about 1 second) (short-circuit/open
with the 15th pin GND).
* The 14th pin (REMOTE ENABLE) is controlled with MAKE even though TRG. is selected. * The 1st pin (TALLY) is always controlled by the make contact system regardless of the setting (ON/OFF) of the 14th pin
(REMOTE ENABLE) or the REMOTE SYSTEM setting (MAKE, TRG.) in <SET-UP MENU>.
Note:
When this monitor is externally controlled, the following buttons are disabled. MAKE: INPUT-A to D, UNDER SCAN, COLOR OFF, ASPECT on the front panel.
*1: OFF stands for disconnection, and ON stands for short-circuit. *2: When INPUT REMOTE in the <SET-UP MENU> is set to A/B, OFF means “select INPUT A” and ON means “select INPUT B”. *3: When INPUT REMOTE in the set-up menu is set to A/B, pins not used should not be connected. *4: Do not connect. *5: Setting REMOTE ENABLE to ON enables external control from each terminal. (Only TALLY can be externally controlled all the time.) *6: INPUT REMOTE setting in the set-up menu (REMOTE SYSTEM shown only when MAKE is selected.)
For the D-sub pins 2, 3, 4 and 5, 4-pin or 1-pin control can be set with INPUT REMOTE in the set-up menu.
•4-pin control: Switches input by short-circuiting a specified signal line in INPUT A to D.
•1-pin control: Switches between INPUT-A and INPUT-B only with the 2nd pin of the D-sub connector. In this case, INPUT-C and INPUT-D cannot be selected. OFF: INPUT A ON : INPUT B
NOTES :
* When more than two terminals are selected (short-circuited) from INPUT A through INPUT D under the MAKE system, the signal
input is prioritized alphabetically (A, B, C, D).
* To control INPUT A through INPUT D under the MAKE system, we recommend using the interlock switch, which turns off a
switch when another switch is turned on. To control INPUT A through INPUT D under the TRG. system, we recommend using the return switch, which stays ON while pressed.

To use the SWITCHED OUT terminal, the main power must be ON. (Unlike a bridged output, this connector outputs relocked digital signals.)
Signal output from the SWITCHED OUT terminal can be changed by selecting INPUT C (SDI 1) or INPUT D (SDI 2). You can use the front panel buttons or do it via external control.
When INPUT-A or INPUT-B is selected, this terminal outputs the signals last selected. In the standby mode, signals from the SDI 1 connector are output.
