System Operating Procedure
Check the operation of the system according to the procedure described below.
1.Connect the camera cable to the CCU.
• Turn off the CCU before connecting or disconnecting the camera cable.
2.Plug the power cord of the Isolation Transformer into a power outlet.
3.Turn on the Isolation Transformer. Confirm that the red LED is not flashing.
If the red LED is flashing, do not use the unit. Improve the grounding of the power outlet.
4.Turn on the ZIP drive.
5.After the ZIP drive power stabilizes (about five seconds), turn on the CCU.
If the CCU is turned on before the ZIP drive power stabilizes, a communications error may be generated.
Load a ZIP disk into the ZIP drive, press the FREEZE button on the CCU’s front panel, and confirm that still images are loaded properly.
If the green LED on the ZIP drive lights, the unit is operating normally.
6.Turn on the W-VHS unit.
Load a W-VHS tape into the unit and confirm that the unit is able to record.
7.Turn on the monitor.
Confirm that the MODE selector on the CCU’s front panel is set to “CAMERA” and confirm that the image that is being shot by the camera appears on the monitor.
8.Operate each component in accordance with their operating procedures.
Note: Connections should be made only by JVC service personnel or other qualified service personnel. Do not disconnect or alter any connections.
