Introduction
Safety Precautions
• Installation of this unit requires expertise. Please contact your dealer for details.
• The ceiling to mount the camera has to be strong enough to support the weight of this product. If the ceiling is not strong enough, make sure to apply reinforcement to the ceiling before installation.
• Be sure to tighten the screws or nuts securely, Insufficient tightening may cause the unit to fall from its mount.
• The unit is to be powered by a DC 12 V or an AC 24 V power supply. The AC 24 V power supply should conform to the following: Class 2 only (U type) Isolated power supply only (E type)
• The rating label is displayed on the bottom of the unit.
• JVC will not be liable for any damage resulting from the camera dropping due to incomplete installation by not following the installation instructions. Take caution when performing installation.
• Before starting an important recording, be sure to perform a test recording in order to confirm that a normal recording is possible.
•We do not accept liability for the loss of a recording in the case of it becoming impossible to record due to a problem in the video camera, VCR or video tape.
•We do not accept liability for any damage to the camera in cases when it is dropped because of incomplete installation due to not observing the installation instructions correctly. Please be careful when installing the camera.
E-5
English
If a high-intensity object (such as a lamp) is shot, the image on the screen may have vertical lines (smear) or blur (blooming) at its periphery. This is a characteristic of the CCD, and is not a defect.
Observe the following when carrying out camera maintenance.
•Turn the power OFF before proceeding
to carry out maintenance.
• Clean the dome cover and the lens using
a lens wiper cloth (or a tissue). If it is contaminated seriously, clean the contaminated part with a cloth (or a tissue) which has been soaked in a solution of water and a neutral detergent.
Do not install the unit in an environment where there is cold air or near the air outlet of an air conditioner. The dome cover will cloud as a result.
When the camera from a cold area to room temperature, condensation may occur causing the camera to malfunction as a result. In this case, turn on the power after waiting for a few hours.
When the temperature becomes cold, water droplets may appear on the interior of the dome camera. To prevent this, use the accompanying silica gel.
If the D/N switch is turned on, the mode changes automatically to black and white in dark places. As the sensitivity increases, the image may look grainy and white spots may appear. When changing modes, bright portions of image may be emphasized but this is not a failure of the camera.
Operating Precautions
To save energy, turn the power off when not in use.
This camera has been designed to be hung from the ceiling. It may malfunction if it is placed on a surface or if it is tilted.
Do not install or use the camera in the following places.
• In a place exposed to heavy rain.
• In a place with vapor or oil soot, for
example in a kitchen.
• In a temperature outside the operating
temperature range (–10°C to 50°C).
• Near a source of radiation, X-rays,
strong radio waves or magnetism.
• In a place where corrosive gasses are
generated.
• In a place subject to vibration.
If this camera and the cables connected to this camera are used where there are strong electromagnetic waves or where there is magnetism present, for example near a radio or TV transmitter, power transformer or an electric motor, the picture may produce noise and the colours may be affected.
This camera incorporates an AGC circuit. As a result, when it is used under low light conditions, the camera sensitivity is automatically boosted and the picture may look uneven. This is not a malfunction however.
When this camera is used in the ATW mode, the recorded colours may be slightly different from the actual colours due to the operational principles of the auto-tracking white balance circuit. This is however not a malfunction.

CAUTION
• If thin cables are used (i.e. with a high resistance), a significant voltage drop will occur when the unit is at its maximum power consumption. Either use a thick cable to restrict the voltage drop at the camera side to below 10%, or place the power supply near to the camera. If voltage drop occurs during operation, the performance will be unstable.
• Do not allow input from both a DC 12 V and AC 24 V power supply at the same time.
• When using a DC 12 V power supply, ensure that the polarities of the cable are correct.
• The AC 24 V power supply should conform to the following: U-type: Class 2 only E-type: Isolated power supply only

CAUTION
• Use the RG-59 or RG-6 video signal cable (coaxial cable).
• If RG-11 is used, the cable cannot be directly connected to the terminal. Connect the RG-6 coaxial cable to the terminal and link to the RG-11 coaxial cable.

About White-spot correction
About White-spot correction
Usage
Switch on the camera power supply and wait for at least 30 minutes.
1.
Remove the dome cover.
2.
Cover the lens surface using a black sheet of paper, etc. so that light does not enter the lens.
3.
Press and hold the SPOT CORRECTION button on the unit for more than 2 seconds.
• White-spot correction will start. Correction may take several seconds for completion.
As a general characteristic unique to CCDs, white-spots may appear on the screen with age. In order to reduce this phenomenon, this unit is equipped with a white-spot correction feature.
• The white-spot correction feature of this unit does not guarantee the correction of all white spots. Maximum correction: less than 16 - 32 spots Depending on the characteristic of white spots, correction may not be possible.
• When performing white-spot correction, accurate data may not be achieved in case of highly-detailed pixels since correction is made using the information of surrounding pixels.
• The result of white-spot correction is maintained until the next correction is performed.

Fall prevention
• The ceiling to mount the camera has to be strong enough to support the weight of this product. If the ceiling is not strong enough, make sure to apply reinforcement to the ceiling before installation.
• Be sure to tighten the screws or nuts securely, Insufficient tightening may cause the unit to fall from its mount.
•To avoid unforeseen accidents, attach the safety cable. Otherwise, there is nothing to prevent the camera from falling should it come loose.

Use screw size suitable for the mounting holes (ø5 mm (3/16")).
Connecting the safety cable
•To prevent dropping, connect the unit to a sturdy location (ceiling slab or channel) and safety cable.
• For the used safety cable, pay particular caution to the length, strength, pull, material (insulation), etc.
• Always use the M4 screws mounted on the unit.
Cable connection
Do not cross the power supply cable and coaxial cable.

Attach the Dome cover
• Be sure that dome cover is firmly attached. Attaching the dome improperly may cause moisture to enter and cloud the inside or result in the cover coming loose and falling.
• Be sure to not pinch the safety cable between the dome cover and base. Water proof and dustproof features may not perform properly as aresult.
Fill using sealing agent
• Completely fill the conduit hole using sealing agent. Also fill the mounting holes when not in use.
• The sealant should be GE silicone or equal.
• Not filling the holes completely with sealing agent may cause moisture to enter, clouding the lens and dome cover as a result. Be sure to completely close the holes.
Insert the included Silica gel
• Insert the provided silica gel in the Base interior and hold using the lug plate.
• Always use the provided silica gel. When not using the silica gel, the dome cover of the camera lens may cloud as a result.
• When performing installation under raining conditions, take caution as not to allow rain to enter inside the unit.
• If the camera angle is not adjusted at installation, insert the silica gel inside the unit after adjustment. The effects of the gel diminish with prolonged exposure to air.
• Always replace the silica gel when reconnecting/resetting during repair or maintenance. When replacing, use: Service parts No. LW40500-001A
Wrap seal tape (When installing the camera to a ceiling with pipe)
Wrap the screw section of the pipe with at least 2 rolls of seal tape. Wrap the seal tape where the pipe-hole screws and pipe screws meet.
