4K Precision JVC e-Shift Projection
A newly developed optical engine incorporating
three JVC D-IL A imaging devices and new e -Shift
technology, whic h shifts each pi xel by 0.5 pixels
diagonally at a rate of 120Hz is combined with
advanced JVC processing to enable 3840 X 2160
precision imag es to be projected from all compatible
Full HD
1920 X 1080
2D source material. JVC e-Shift technolog y upscales
content to a 3840 X 2160 fr ame where precis e edge
enhancement and contrast improvement processing
is per forme d. Two time-aligned 1920 X 1080 sub-frames are created and projected through the
e-Shift optical device to create a total of 3840 X 2160 pixels on the screen. Diagonal lines, curves
and other irregular shapes are smoothed to produce a natural a nd realis tic imag e and pixels become
nearly invisible.

Accurate Color and Gray Scale Tracking
The DL A-RS55 is both THX and ISF cer tified. Achieving the TH X 3D Display certification requires the
projector to pass over 40 0 color, gray scale and signal proces sing tes ts, including an additional level
of test s for 3D certification creating and incredible out of the box experience.
This projecto r is designed to be professional calibrator friendly incorporating selec t ISF calibration
modes v ia a special soft ware interface available to ISF certified calibrator s. Images can be optimized
for spe cific ambient light conditions and stored for recall at t he appro priate viewing time.
D-ILA 3D Projection*
JVC's mos t recent D -ILA driving method repro duces superlative 3D images with vivid colo rs and
reduced L/R crosst alk. But b est of all, DLA-RS55 is also equipped with ot her innov ative 3D functions.
• Cross talk C ancelling: The innovative
Crosstalk Cancelling function significantly
reduces crosstalk from critical intensity levels
that are likely to cause this phenomenon.
The video signal is analyzed for the left and
right eyes and the n a correction is applied
which levels via JVC advanced propr ietar y
Crosstalk Cancelling OFF Crosstalk Cancelling ON
algorithms. This ensures a better 3D experience.
Native Contrast Ratio of 80.000:1
High native contr ast is ac hieved on t he
DLA-RS55 by utilizing an improve d optical engine
employing advanced D-ILA imaging devices and a
wire grid polarizer. There is no dynamic iris or ac tive
circuitry to artific ially enhance the contras t ratio.
Every frame of content projected has wide dynamic
range from peak whites to deep blacks to ensure superb pict ure quality with a heightened sens e of
Conventional projector DLA-RS55
• 2D-3D Co nversion: The real-time 2D-3D co nverter featured on JVC’s Broadcas t Qualit y IF-2D3D1
Profes sional 3D Image Processor has been ported over for hom e projec tor use and is now featured
on the DL A-RS55. This means that 2D video recorded on camcorders and TV broadcas ts can
be converted into 3D video instantaneously for home stereoscopic viewing enjoyment. Other
adjus tment functions are available such as Dept h Adjustment for matching 3 D effec ts to the original
source or viewer p references, and t he adjus tment of subtitle distor tion can be chosen during 2D- 3D
conversion.

Notes about viewing 3D video content
• The optional 3D Synchro Emitter and 3D glasses are required to view 3D images. 3D video software (3D media or
output of 3D broadcasts) and a 3D-compatible video player are also required. • Perception of 3D images will vary
with individual viewers. • Stop viewing 3D images immediately if any discomfort such headaches, dizziness, eye
fatigue, etc. occur. • Viewing of 3D images by children under the age of ve is not recommended. • Read the Safety
Precautions in the User Manual carefully before viewing any 3D source.
• The projector is equipped with an ultra-high pressure mercury lamp, which may break, emitting a loud noise, when it is subjected to shock or after it has been used for some length of time. • Please note that,
depending on how the projector is used, there can be considerable difference between individual lamps regarding how many hours they will operate before requiring replacement. • An additional payment is required
for installation of a new lamp, if necessary. • The projector lamp requires periodic replacement and is not covered by warranty. • Please be aware that, because the D-ILA device is manufactured using highly advanced
technologies, 0.01% or fewer of the pixels may be non-performing (always on or off).
