DUAL-PORT AND QUAD-PORT T1/E1 GPIMS
DATASHEET
Product Overview
Dual-port and quad-port T1/E1 GPIMs
are used with the Juniper Networks
SRX650 Services Gateway, providing
high density for broadly deployed T1/
E1 network connections while making
eective use of the SRX650 modular
interface slots. Integrated channel
service unit/data service unit (CSU/
DSU) eliminates the need to deploy
a separate external device, saving
valuable space and simplifying
management.
Product Description
The Juniper Networks® dual-port and quad-port T1/E1 Gigabit-Backplane Physical Interface
Modules (GPIMs) provide the physical connection to T1 or E1 network media types and include
integrated CSU/DSU. Juniper’s dual-port and quad-port T1/E1 GPIMs forward packets for
Features and Benefits
Juniper ’s dual-port or quad-port T1/E1 GPIMs provide the following benefits:
• Dual-port form factor that provides high density for broadly deployed T1/E1 network
connections, while making effective use of the Juniper Networks SRX650 Services
Gateway modular interface slots
• Integrated CSU/DSU that eliminates the need to deploy a separate external device,
saving valuable space and simplifying management
Features
The quad-port and dual-port T1/E1 Gigabit-Backplane Physical Interface Module (GPIM)
provides the following common key features for both T1 and E1 modes:
• Integrated CSU/DSU to eliminate the need for a separate external device
• Supports fractional T1/E1 connections in both 56 Kbps and 64 Kbps operating modes
• Independent internal and external clocking option
• Alarm reporting with a 24-hour history maintained
• Loopback (local and remote) and bit error rate test/pseudo-random binary sequence
(BERT/PRBS) diagnostics
• Multilink Frame Relay and Multilink Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) support
• MTU size of 9,000 bytes (maximum)
