WARRANTY
This JET product car ries a limited 90-DAY WARRANTY.
WHAT IS COVERED?
This warranty covers any defects in workmanship or materials subject to the exceptions stated below. Cutting tools,
abrasives and other consumables are excluded from warranty coverage.
WHO IS C OVERED ?
This warranty covers only the initial purchaser of the product.
WHAT IS THE PERIOD OF COVERAGE?
The general JET warranty lasts for the time period specified in the product literature of each product.
WHAT IS NOT COVERED?
This warranty does not cover defects due directly or indirectly to misuse, abuse, negligence or accidents, normal
wear-and-tear, improper repair or alterations, or lack of maintenance.
HOW TO GET SERVICE
The product or part must be returned for examination, postage prepaid, to a location designated by us. For the name
of the location nearest you, please call 1-800-274-6848.
You must provide proof of initial purchase date and an explanation of the complaint must accompany the
merchandise. If our inspection discloses a defect, we will repair or replace the product, or refund the purchase price,
at our option. We will return the repaired product or replacement at our expense unless it is determined by us that
there is no defect, or that the defect resulted from causes not within the scope of our warranty in which case we will,
at your direction, dispose of or return the product. In the event you choose to have the product returned, you will be
responsible for the shipping and handling costs of the return.
HOW STATE LAW APPLIES
This warranty gives you specific legal rights; you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

WALTER MEIER LIMITS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES TO THE PERIOD OF THE LIMITED WARRANTY FOR

If you are not familiar with the proper and safe operation of a die grinder, do not use until proper
training and knowledge have been obtained.
5. Do not use this tool for other than its intended use. If used for other purposes, Walter Meier

that may result from that use.

7. Wear ear protector s (plugs or muffs) if the noise exc eeds normal levels.
8. Use gloves if needed when operating the di e grinder. Keep hands and b ody away from the working
area of the tool.
9. Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling and other construction activities
contain chemi cals known to cause cancer , bir th defects or other r eproductiv e harm . Some exampl es
of these chemic als are:
• Lead from lead based paint.
• Crystalli ne sil ic a from bricks, cement and other m asonry pr oduc ts.
• Arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lum ber .
Your risk of exposure varies, depending on how often you do this type of work. To reduce your
exposure to these chemicals, work in a well-ventilated area and work with approved safety
equipment, such as face or dust masks that are specifically designed to filter out microscopic
particles.
10. Do not operate this tool whil e tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or any medicati on.
11. Maint ain proper bal ance and keep your footi ng at all tim es. Non-sli p footwear or anti -skid f loor strips
are recommended.
12. Befor e operati ng this die gri nder, remov e tie, rings, watches and other jewelry, and roll sleeves up
past the elbows. Remove all loose clothing and confine long hair.
13. Exc essive ai r pr essure and too m uc h free r otati on may decrease t he l if e of the t ool and m ay cause a
hazardous situat ion.
14. Check air hoses for wear, and keep them away from heat and sharp edges. Do not carry the die
grinder by the ai r hose.
15. Do not use this air tool near flammable objects or potentially ex plosive environments.
16. Do not leave a connected tool unatt ended. When not in use, disconnect tool from the air source.
17. Disconnect die grinder from air supply before maki ng adjustments or changing accessori es.
18. Keep work area clean and free of clut ter.
19. Keep visitors a safe di stanc e from the work area. Keep children away.
20. Giv e your work undivi ded attention. Looki ng around, carryi ng on a conversati on and “horse-play” ar e
careless acts that can r esul t in serious injury.
21. Do not f orce a tool or attachment to do a j ob for which i t was not designed. The ri ght tool will do the
job better and saf er .

22. Repetitiv e moti ons and/or exposure to constant vi bration can be harmful to hands and arm s. Take
breaks and relax your hands occasionally during ex tended operation of the di e gri nder .
23. Compr essed air can be harmf ul if directed toward sensi tive ar eas of the body, and m ay propel small
particles caught in the air stream. Exercise proper c aution.
24. Use recommended accessories; i mproper accessories may be hazardous.
25. Maintain tools with car e. Keep the die grinder clean and oiled for best and safest perf ormanc e.

Operation
1. The Di e G ri nder must be pr oper ly lubr i cated
before operating. See “Maintenance”
section for lubricating instructions.
2. Remove the pr otective cap fr om the air inlet,
and connect the ai r supply hose. Make sure
the air pressure is set to 90psi .
IMPORTANT: Connecting a quick-change
coupling directly to the Die Grinder is not
recommended, as vibration may cause the
connection to fail. Instead, add a leader
hose and install any qui ck-change c oupli ngs
farther down the li ne.
3. Loosen the collet nut using the two
wrenches on the flats of the collet nut and
collet hol der (Fi gure 1). Keep t he wrench on
the collet hol der stationary whil e turning the
wrench on the coll et nut .

4. Install a gr inding point (not included) into the
collet and re-tighten the collet nut securely
using the wrenches.
5. Press forward on the safet y lever and down
on the trigger (Figure 2). How f ar down the
trigger i s pressed det erm i nes rotat i on speed
of the tool.
Maintenance
The Die Grinder should be lubricated daily (or
before each use) wit h air tool oil through t he air
inlet. Dur ing c ontinual operat ion, it shoul d be reoiled every 1 to 2 hours. Thi s can be done either
with an in-line oiler, or manually. If done
manually, pr oc eed as follows:
1. Disconnect the air hose fr om the die grinder.
2. Place one or two drops of air tool oil* into
the air inlet (Fi gur e 3) .
[*NOTE: Air tool oil not provided. It may be
purchased from your JET dealer, or is
available at most major hardware and tool
stores. SAE #10 weight oil may be used as
a substitute. Do not use detergent oil.]

3. Re-connect the air. Run the Die Grinder
without load f or a few seconds to distri bute
the oil throughout the tool.

4. When you are finished operating the Die
Grinder, before storing it disconnect the air
hose and place 4 or 5 drops of air tool oil
into the air inlet; re-connect the air and run
the tool for a few seconds to distribute the
oil.
5. Avoid storing the grinder in very humid
locations which prom otes rusting of internal
mechanisms, and always oil it before
storage.
Air Connection
1. Make sure that the ai r compressor suppli es
clean air at the correct CFM for the die
grinder.
unclean air will shorten the tool’s life and
may create a hazardous situation.
2. Set air pressure to 90 psi.
3. Drain the water f r om the air c om pr essor tank
daily, as well as any conde nsation from t he
air lines. W ater in the air line may ent er the
tool and cause dam age.
4. Change filters on the air sy stem on a regular
basis.
5. Air line pressure should be increased
accordingl y to compensate f or ext ra long ai r
hoses (usually over 25 feet). I nsi de diameter
of the hose must be a minimum of 3/8”.
