Operation
1. The Di e G ri nder must be pr oper ly lubr i cated before operating. See “Maintenance” section for lubricating instructions.
2. Remove the pr otective cap fr om the air inlet, and connect the ai r supply hose. Make sure the air pressure is set to 90psi .
IMPORTANT: Connecting a quick-change coupling directly to the Die Grinder is not recommended, as vibration may cause the connection to fail. Instead, add a leader hose and install any qui ck-change c oupli ngs farther down the li ne.
3. Loosen the collet nut using the two wrenches on the flats of the collet nut and collet hol der (Fi gure 1). Keep t he wrench on the collet hol der stationary whil e turning the wrench on the coll et nut .

4. Install a gr inding point (not included) into the collet and re-tighten the collet nut securely using the wrenches.
5. Press forward on the safet y lever and down on the trigger (Figure 2). How f ar down the trigger i s pressed det erm i nes rotat i on speed of the tool.
Maintenance
The Die Grinder should be lubricated daily (or before each use) wit h air tool oil through t he air inlet. Dur ing c ontinual operat ion, it shoul d be reoiled every 1 to 2 hours. Thi s can be done either with an in-line oiler, or manually. If done manually, pr oc eed as follows:
1. Disconnect the air hose fr om the die grinder.
2. Place one or two drops of air tool oil* into the air inlet (Fi gur e 3) .
[*NOTE: Air tool oil not provided. It may be purchased from your JET dealer, or is available at most major hardware and tool stores. SAE #10 weight oil may be used as a substitute. Do not use detergent oil.]

3. Re-connect the air. Run the Die Grinder without load f or a few seconds to distri bute the oil throughout the tool.
5
4. When you are finished operating the Die Grinder, before storing it disconnect the air hose and place 4 or 5 drops of air tool oil into the air inlet; re-connect the air and run the tool for a few seconds to distribute the oil.
5. Avoid storing the grinder in very humid locations which prom otes rusting of internal mechanisms, and always oil it before storage.
Air Connection
1. Make sure that the ai r compressor suppli es clean air at the correct CFM for the die grinder.
unclean air will shorten the tool’s life and may create a hazardous situation.
2. Set air pressure to 90 psi.
3. Drain the water f r om the air c om pr essor tank daily, as well as any conde nsation from t he air lines. W ater in the air line may ent er the tool and cause dam age.
4. Change filters on the air sy stem on a regular basis.
5. Air line pressure should be increased accordingl y to compensate f or ext ra long ai r hoses (usually over 25 feet). I nsi de diameter of the hose must be a minimum of 3/8”.
