of these chemic als are:
• Lead from lead based paint.
• Crystalli ne sil ic a from bricks, cement and other m asonry pr oduc ts.
• Arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lum ber .
Your risk of exposure varies, depending on how often you do this type of work. To reduce your

immediately to your distributor and shipping
agent.
Compare the contents of the box with the
following parts list to make sure all parts are
intact. Any missing parts should be reported to
your distributor. Read this instruction manual
thoroughly for operation, maintenance and
safety instructions.
• Peening Chisel – for peening welds, punching, etc.
• Nut Splitter – for removal of corroded or frozen nuts
• Flat Chisel – scraping, chippi ng, scaling, metal cutting, cleaning welds, paint scraping, rivet busting, etc.
• Panel Cut ter – for automotive panels, vehicle extrication in r escue operations, etc.

Operation
1. The Air Ham m er m ust be pr operly lubricated
before operating. See “M aintenance” section
for oiling instruc tions.
2. Pull back on the knurled ring of the chuck
and insert the chisel shank into the chuck
(Figure 1). T he ledge on the shank must go
beyond the four steel balls inside the chuck
in order to be secured. (NOTE: It may
require som e f or ce to m ove t he chi sel l edge
beyond the steel balls.) When the chisel is
installed, release the knurled ring.
3. Remove the protectiv e c ap from t he air inlet,
and connect the air hammer to the air
supply. Make sure the air pr essure is set t o
90psi.
IMPORTANT: Connecting a quick-change
coupling directly to the air hammer is not
recommended, as vibration may cause the
connection to fail. Instead, add a leader
hose and install any quick-change coupli ngs
farther down the li ne.
5. Av oid storing the air hammer in very humi d
locations which prom otes rusting of internal
mechanisms, and always oil it before
storage.
Figure 1
4. Press the blade of the chisel against the
target surface, and press the trigger t o begin
the hammeri ng action. Adjust the speed a s
needed with the r egulator knob (Figure 2).
Maintenance
The Air Hammer should be lubricated daily (or
before each use) with air tool oil through the ai r
inlet. During continual operation, it should be
oiled every 1 to 2 hours. T his can be done either
with an in-line oiler, or manually. If done
manually, pr oc eed as follows:
1. Disconnect the air hose from the air
hammer.
2. Place one or two drops of air tool oil* into
the air inlet (Fi gur e 2) .
[*NOTE: Air tool oil not provided. It may be
purchased from your JET dealer, or is
available at most major hardware and tool
stores. SAE #10 weight oil may be used as
a substitute. Do not use detergent oil.]
3. Re-connec t the air. Run t he air hammer for
a few seconds to distribute the oil
throughout the tool. NOTE: Excess oil may
be propelled from the cylinder of the tool;
point it in a safe dir ection.
4. When finished operating the air hammer,
before stori ng it disconnect t he air hose and
place 4 or 5 drops of air tool oil i nto the air
inlet; r e- c onnec t the air and run the tool f or a
few seconds to distri bute the oil.
Figure 2
Air Connection
1. Make sure the air compressor supplies
clean air at the correct CFM for the air
hammer.
Excess air pressure and/or
unclean air will shorten the tool’s life and
may create a hazardous situation.
2. Set air pressure to 90 psi.
3. Drain the water f r om the air c om pr essor tank
daily, as well as any conde nsation from t he
air lines. W ater in the air line may ent er the
tool and cause dam age.
4. Change filters on the air sy stem on a regular
basis.
5. Air line pressure should be increased
accordingl y to compensate f or ext ra long ai r
hoses (usually over 25 feet). I nsi de diameter
of the hose must be a minimum of 3/8”.

Make sure compressor is set at 90psi,
and air lines are not twisted.
Disassemble and r epair/replace
throttle or trigger .
Hammering power is
diminished.
Starts immediately as
soon as air is
connected.
Abnormal vibration
and/or excessive
heat develops in the
