16. Check ai r hoses for wear, and keep them away from heat and sharp edge s. Do not carry the angle
grinder by the air hose.
17. Do not use this air tool near flammable objects or potentially ex plosive environments.

Operation
The box should include 1 Angle Grinder, 1
Handle and 2 Wrenches. Any missing parts
should be reported t o your J ET distr ibut or. Read
this instructi on manual thoroughly for operation,
maintenance and safety instructions.
1. Lubricate t he angle grinder bef or e oper ating.
See “Maintenance” section for oiling
instructions.
2. Assemble the handle to the threaded hol e of
the angle grinder.
3. The disc guard can be rotated left or right.
Remove the socket head cap screws (F igure
1) with a 4mm hex wrench, and re-positi on
the guard. All four of the socket head cap
screws must be installed and tightened
before operati ng the grinder.
Maintenance
The angle grinder shoul d be lubricated daily (or
before each use) with air tool oil. During
continual operation, it should be oil ed every 1 t o
2 hours. This m ay be done using an i n-l i ne oiler ,
or manually. If done manually, proceed as
follows:
1. Disconnect gri nder from air supply.
2. Place a f ew drops of air tool oil* into the ai r
inlet (Figur e 2).
(*Not included. A ir tool oil may be pur c hased
from your JET dealer, or is available at
major tool and hardware stores. SAE #10weight oil m ay be used as a substitute. Do
not use detergent oil.)

4. Remove the fl ange nut (Figure 1) and mount
a 4-1/2” or 5” diameter grinder wheel (not
provided) on the spindle. Re-install and
securely tighten the flange nut against the
grinding wheel, using the provided pin
wrench while holding the other wrench on
the flats of the spindl e as shown.
Only use grinding wheels
that have an RPM rating equal to or greater
than the angle grinder itself.
5. Remove the cap fr om the grinder ’s air inl et
(Figure 2) and connect the air supply hose
to the grinder. Set the air pressure to 90 psi.
IMPORTANT: Connecting a quick-change
coupling directly to the angle gri nder is not
recommended, as vibration may cause the
connection to fail. Instead, add a leader
hose and install any quick-change coupli ngs
farther down the line.
Figure 2
3. Connect the grinder to the air supply. Run
the tool without load for a few seconds to
distribute the oil through the tool. NOTE:
Any excess oil may be propelled from the
spindle area – keep it pointed in a safe
direction.
4. When you are finished operating t he gr inder,
before stori ng it disconnect t he air hose and
place 4 or 5 drops of air tool oil into t he air
inlet, then re-connect and run the tool to
distribut e the oil. This will prolong t he life of
your grinder.
5. Avoid storing the grinder in a humid
environment which promotes rusting of
internal mechanisms; and always oil it
before storage.
6. Push forward the throttle lever lock and
press up on the throttle lever (Figure 2).
How far the throttle lever is pressed
determines rot ati on speed.
5
Air Connection
1. Make sure that the air compressor supplies
the correct CFM for the gri nder .
2. Set air pressure to 90 psi. Higher pressure
and/or unclean ai r may create a hazardous
situation, and will shorten the tool’s lif e.
3. Drain water from the air compressor tank
daily, as well as any condensati on in the air
lines. W ater in the ai r line can ent er the tool
and cause damage.
4. Clean the air inlet filt er c ar tridge weekly.
5. Line pressure should be increased
accordingl y to compensate f or ext ra long ai r
hoses (usually over 25 f eet). Inside diameter
of air hoses should be a minim um of 3/8”.
