Be sure that the battery is installed correctly. Wrong polarity may cause permanent damage to the unit.
For best performance and longer operating time, we recommend the use of alkaline batteries.
If the unit is not to b e use d f or an exten ded period of ti m e, rem ove all the batteries. Old or leaking battery can caus e
damage to the unit and will also void the warranty.
Do not dispose of battery in fire. Battery may leak or explode.
Battery shall not be exposed to excessive heat, such as sunshine, fire or the like.
CAUTION:
Danger of explosion if batteries are incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
Note:
When the unit is plugged into an AC outlet, it automatically switches to AC power even if batteries are installed.
TURNING UNIT ON AND OFF
1. Rotate the On/Off Volume Control clockwise to turn ON the unit, you will hear a “click” sound.
2. Rotate the On/Off Volume Control fully counter-clockwise to turn OFF the unit, a “click” sound is heard.
LISTENING TO THE RADIO
1. Use the Band Selector to choose the AM or FM band.
2. Turn ON the radio by rotating the On/Off Volume Control clockwise.
3. Use the tuning knob to tune to your desired radio station.
4. Adjust the volume level.
HINTS FOR BEST RECEPTION:
AM - The AM antenna is located inside the cabinet of the unit. If AM reception is weak, change the position of unit until the
internal antenna picks up the strongest signal.
FM - To insure m aximum FM tuner reception, f ully extend the FM t elescopic a ntenna and rotate it for the best F M radio
reception.
LISTENING TO AN AUXILIARY AUDIO SOURCE
This unit provides an auxiliar y audio signa l input j ack for connecting external audio de vices like MP3 players, CD pla yers
and iPods (except iPod shuffle 3rd generation) and listen to your external source through the speakers of this system.
1. You need an audio cable (not included) with one 3.5 mm stereo plug on each end of the cable.
2. Plug one end of the cable into the AUX-IN jack located on the right hand side of the unit and the other end of the cable
into the Line-out Jack or Headphone Jack of your external audio device.
3. Turn on the external audio device.
4. Turn on your unit and it will switch to AUX mode automatically.
5. The volume level can no w be controlled thr ough the volum e control of your radio. Operate all other funct ions on the
auxiliary device as usual.
Note:
(1) If you connected the Line-out Jack of your ex ternal device then you only need to adjust the volume control of this
system. If you connecte d the Headphon e Jack of your ext ernal device then you may need t o adjust both the volum e
control of your external device and the volume control of this system to find the most desirable volume setting.
(2) Remove the audio cable from AUX IN jack when you finish l istening. Don't forget to switch off the po wer on your
external device as well.
