Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Which sensors can be used with DP460 Series Indicator?

A: DP460 Series Indicator can be used with thermocouples J, K, T, E, S, R, or B, and also with 3 wire RTD sensors with alpha = .00385 or .00392.

Q: How do I change from a thermocouple to an RTD input?

A: A change in position of an internal jump jack on the circuit board will help you change from sounding thermocouples to Rtd inputs.

Q: DP460 Series Indicator requires what?

A: 115VAC +10%, 50-60Hz or 230VAC +10%, 50-60Hz are jumper selectable maximum power requirements for the DP460 Series Indicator.

Q: How often should the indicator be calibrated?

A: The indicator can be calibrated once when a year or after changing from thermocouple to RTD types and vice versa.

Q: What is the measurement accuracies for thermocouple and RTD inputs?

A: For thermocouple inputs, e.g. J, K, T, E the accuracy is ±1° and an additional 0.03% RDG. As for RTD inputs, PT100 the accuracy remains at ±1° and an additional 0.08% RDG.

Q: Does The DP460 Series Indicator read in Fahrenheit or Celsius or both?

A: The display is able to toggle between Carnot’s two temperature scales.
