IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always
be followed, including the following:
1 Read all instructions.
2 Do not touch hot surfaces. The outer surface may get hot when the
toaster is operating.
3 To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or
toaster in water or other liquid.
4 Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near
children.
5 Unplug from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to
cool before putting on or taking off parts.
6 Do not operate the toaster with a damaged cord or plug, or after the
toaster malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return the
toaster to the nearest authorized service facility for examination,
repair, or adjustment.

7 The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance
manufacturer may cause injuries.
8 Do not use outdoors.
9 Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch
hot surfaces.
10 Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated
oven.
11 Always attach the plug to the appliance first, then plug the cord into
the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to “off”, then remove
the plug from the wall outlet.
12 Do not use this appliance for other than its intended use.
13 Oversize foods, metal foil packages, or utensils must not be inserted in
a toaster, as they may involve a risk of fire or electric shock.
14 A fire may occur if the toaster is covered or touching flammable
material, including curtains, draperies, walls, and the like, when in
operation.
15 Do not attempt to dislodge food when the toaster is in operation.
16 Make sure that your outlet voltage corresponds to the voltage stated
on the rating label of the toaster.
17 Bread may burn, so the toaster must not be used near or below
curtains and other combustible materials, and must be watched.
18 Make sure that you take the bread out carefully after toasting so as to
avoid injuries.
19 This toaster is not intended to be operated by means of an external
timer or separate remote-control system.
20 This toaster includes a heating function. Surfaces other than the
functional surfaces may develop high temperatures. Because
temperatures are perceived differently by different people, this toaster
should be used with caution. Hold the toaster with heat protection
gloves or potholders. Areas which are not intended to be gripped
must be given sufficient time to cool.

Notes on the plug and the power cord
a) A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) should
be used to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or
tripping over a longer cord.
b) Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available
and may be used if care is exercised in their use.

1) The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should
be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance; and
2) The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the
countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or
tripped over unintentionally.
