We hope that you will be fully satised with yo ur new Docking Station for AXIUM D7 terminal.

Read this guide to unders tand and make the be st use of this access ory. It presents you the n ecess ary information ab out use, installation , maintenance, safet y and security re commen dations.

AXIUM DOCK station

The AXIUM DOC K is an acces sory for AXIU M D7 POS terminal. It offers different types of functions:

Charge contact s for Axium D7 charging.

3 USB slots

WARNING

The power s upply unit provided with yo ur equipment is specially designed for Ingenico terminals. Do not u se any other power supply. The use of a power s upply with apparently similar voltage/current characteristics may damage your terminal.

ADVICE

Keep the packaging. It must be re-used whenever the terminal is shipped.

3_Use of the DOCKING STATION

ADVICE

Before to use the Docking Station, always check if the paper roll is present.

3_1 Power on the device

To power on the station it is necessar y to conne ct the device to the elec trical main network th rough the power supply unit provided with the station .

3_2 Docking / undocking of the D7

In order to cha rge the D7, you have to dock it on the station. This actio n is automatic by sliding down the D7 on t he terminal suppor t as per b elow.

In case you need to undock the product, please action th e dedicated butto n on the station as per b elow.

3_3 Axium D7 charging

The Axium Dock allows to charge the Axium D7 thro ugh the contac ts spring on the tablet h older. The Axium Dock of fers a 5V voltage with a maximum current of 2A.

3_4 Advance paper

Advance t he paper by pressing “advance paper key”.

3_5 LED information

Two LEDs are integrated in the docking station :

One (on the left) to in dicate if the s tation is powered

The second one (o n the right ), to indicate the Bluetooth connec tion during printing ticket .

4_Installation

4_1 Recommendation

Location of the AXIUM DOCK

Place the ter minal on at sur face near an elec tric socket. The terminal sho uld be place d far from any very hot zo nes, protecte d from vibrations, dus t, damp and electromagnetic radiation (computer screen , anti-thef t barrier etc.).

4_2 Docking Station connections

4_2_1 USB slots

The Docking station embeds 3 USB slots . All the 3 ports are available from tablet (Axiu m D7) when this one is physically connec ted to the docking Station. For instance, external barcode read er, external printer or cash drawer can be connecte d to the Station.

The four contacts on the ta blet holder offer the power supply to the Axium D7 and the USB inter face.

4_2_3 NFC interface for Bluetooth paring

The docking Station embeds a passive NFC inter face for Bluetooth pairing. To make the Bluetoo th pairing easier. This interf ace allows to make key exchange between A xium D7 and th e station for Bluetooth connection. To proceed to this pairing, please launc h the pairing ap plication from the tablet and then approach the terminal to th e dock.

The ther mal paper can be dete riorated by poor storage condition, so we recomm end you to avoid :

Storage in hot wet places (near air-conditioner, humidity higher than 85%)

Expos ure to sunlight or ultraviolet for the long periods

Contac t with organic solvents (solvent t ype adh esive)

Direct co ntact with materials containing plasticizer s (PVC transparent folders or envelopes)

Direct co ntact with “diazo” papers

Direct co ntact with water

Rubbing or pressing the p aper too strongly

WARNING

For best produc t performances, only u se heat se nsitized paper approved by In genico.

WARNING

Switch off th e terminal prio r to install a paper roll. Use only paper approved by Ingenico The use of n on-approved pap er is likely to damage t he printer of the Docking St ation.

4_3_2 Installing paper roll

Open the p aper com partment by pulling on th e paper door butto n and pull the d oor.

Insert t he paper roll in the compartment following the directions shown on th e below pict ure

Pull the pap er up to the to p of the terminal

Maintain the paper and clo se the lid

Press simultaneously on both upper corners of the paper ap, as shown by arrows on pic ture, until it clips into position

4_4 Ethernet connection over WIFI

4_4_1 Software conguration

The rst time you receive your docking statio n equippe d with the Wi/ Ethernet b oard, this one is under Fac tory d efault mo de.

You could acce ss the device via Ethernet with IP 192.168.0.50.

User Name : Admin

Password : Password

Those information can be found on the do cking label ( below the product) Remark: if you change some settings on the web inter face and you save those settings, you will not be able to acces s to the Factory default mode.

Once the conguration changed under the Factor y Test Mode, you could only access the d evice via WL AN with IP 192.168.1.1.

Or you could a ccess th e device via Ethernet with WAN IP and management port when the “Enable Remote Management” function is enabled. And with the password you set or default pas sword.

4_4_2 Factory default settings

Enter TOO LS SYSTEM page and click “Restore Factor y Defaults” butto n and click OK in the Popup message , then the router will restore all factor y cong uration settings.

4_4_3 Firmware upgrade

Enter TOO LS FIR MWARE pag e, click on “BR OWSE” to s earch the local hard drive for the rmware to b e used for the update

4_4_4 Emergency rmware upgrade

If the rmware is damaged, the device co uld not load the runtim e rmware and it would stop in b ootloader. You could acces s the device using

4_4_5 Change settings

You could acce ss the function page you want to m odify and change the setting you need .

Change settings then click “S ave Set tings” button , the set tings will be saved and t aking effect.

5_Recommendations

5_1 Securisation

AXIUM / s eries offers the possibility to secure A XIUM DO CK and AXIUM D7 with one single Kensington . When the D7 is do cked lock t he Kensing ton system as per below.

5_2 Safety

Powering down the AXIUM DOCK

Disconne ct the A XIUM DOCK power supply block adapter from the electrical mains net work.

Electrical power outlet

The elec trical ou tlet must m eet the following criteria :

Must be ins talled nea r the equipment an d easily

accessible;

Do not sho rt-circuit the battery.

Do not at tempt to op en the bat tery co ntainer.

Used batteries must be disposed of at t he appropriate sites.

Explosion areas

Certain re gulations restric t the use of radio equipment in chemical plants, fuel depot s and any site wh ere blasting is c arried ou t. You are urged to co mply with the se regulations. The terminal shall be protec ted by a specially t ted and certie d cover enabling use in proximity to a fuel pump.

Electronic health appliances

Your handset is a radio transmitter which may interfere with health appliances , such as hearing aids, pacemaker, hospital equipment, etc. Your doctor or the equipment manufact urer will be able to p rovide you with appropriate advice.

5_3 FCC/IC Compliance

Those provisions are requiring pro ducers a nd manuf acturers to become liable for take-b ack, treatment and recycling upon end o f life of equipme nt and batteries.

The ass ociated symbol mea ns that WEE E and waste batteries must not be thrown away b ut collec ted separately and rec ycled.

Ingenico ensures that efcient collection and recycling scheme s are set-up for WE EE and bat teries according to th e local reg ulation of you r countr y. Please contact your retailers for m ore detaile d information about th e compliance solution in pla ce for disposing of your old produc t and use d batteries.
