accumulators (rechargeable batteries) must be

taken to designated collection locations at the
end of their working life. Do not dispose of these products
as unsorted municipal waste. Dispose of them according to
the laws in your area.

RECOMMENDATION

SUPPLIED ACCESSORIES

CLEAN THE TRANSCEIVER THOROUGHLY WITH
FRESH WATER after exposure to saltwater, and dry

it before operating. Otherwise, the transceiver's keys,
switches and controllers may become unusable, due to salt

crystallization, and/or the charging terminals of the battery

pack may rust.

NOTE: If the transceiver’s waterproof protection appears
defective, carefully clean it with a soft, wet (fresh water)
cloth, then, dry it before operating.
The transceiver may lose its waterproof protection if the
case, jack cap, or connector cover is cracked or broken, or
the transceiver has been dropped.

PRECAUTIONS

R DANGER! NEVER short the terminals of the battery
pack. Shorting may occur if the terminals touch metal
objects such as a key, so be careful when placing the
battery packs (or the transceiver) in bags, and so on. Carry
them so that shorting cannot occur with metal objects.
Shorting may damage not only the battery pack, but also the
transceiver.

R DANGER! NEVER use and charge Icom battery packs
with non-Icom transceivers or non-Icom chargers. Only Icom
battery packs are tested and approved for use with Icom
transceivers or charged with Icom chargers. Using third­party or counterfeit battery packs or chargers may cause

smoke, re, or cause the battery to burst.

R WARNING! NEVER hold the transceiver so that the
antenna is very close to, or touching exposed parts of the
body, especially the face or eyes, while transmitting. The
transceiver will perform best if the microphone is 5 to 10 cm
away from the lips and the transceiver is vertical.

R WARNING! NEVER operate the transceiver with a
headset or other audio accessories at high volume levels.
If you experience a ringing in your ears, reduce the volume
level or discontinue use.

R WARNING! NEVER operate the transceiver while driving
a vehicle. Safe driving requires your full attention—anything
less may result in an accident.

CAUTION: DO NOT operate the transceiver unless the

exible antenna, battery pack and jack cover are securely
attached. Conrm that the antenna and battery pack are dry

before attaching. Exposing the inside of the transceiver to
dust or water can cause serious damage to the transceiver.

CAUTION: DO NOT place or leave the transceiver in direct
sunlight or in places with temperatures below –25°C or
above +55°C.

CAUTION: DO NOT modify the transceiver. The
specications may change and then the transceiver may not
comply with the requirements of required regulations. The
transceiver warranty does not cover any problems caused

by unauthorized modication.

Even when the transceiver power is OFF, a slight current

still ows in the circuits. Remove the battery pack from the

transceiver when not using it for a long periods of time.
Otherwise, the installed battery pack will become exhausted,
and will need to be recharged or replaced.

Icom is not responsible for the destruction, damage to, or
performance of any Icom or non-Icom equipment, if the
malfunction is because of:

• Force majeure, including, but not limited to, res,

earthquakes, storms, oods, lightning, other natural

disasters, disturbances, riots, war, or radioactive
contamination.

• The use of Icom transceivers with any equipment that is
not manufactured or approved by Icom.

D About the Speaker microphone jack

The transceiver meets IP67 requirements for dust-tight
and waterproof protection only when the jack cover or the
optional HM-168LWP, HS-94LWP, or HS-95LWP is attached.

D About the LED Indicator

• Lights red while transmitting.

• Lights green while receiving a signal.

• You should charge the battery when the indicator slowly
blinks green.

• You must charge the battery when the indicator quickly
blinks green.

BASIC OPERATION

■ Receiving and Transmitting

Receiving

1. Rotate [Rotary Selector] to select a channel.

2. When receiving a call, rotate [VOL] to adjust the audio.

Transmitting

Wait until the channel is clear to avoid interference.

1. While holding down [PTT], speak at your normal voice
level.

2. Release [PTT] to receive.

NOTE: To insure the readability of your signal:

1. After pushing [PTT], pause briefly before you start
speaking.

2. Hold the microphone 5 to 10 cm from your mouth, and
then speak at your normal voice level.

■ Call-Ring operation

This function sends the preset ringer to your group members.

NOTE: To use this function, the operating channel and
CTCSS tone must be the same on all of your group
transceivers.

Hold down [Upper] for 1 second to send the preset ringer.

• The ringer sounds while holding down [Upper].

• The same ringer sounds from your group members’ speaker.

■ Smart-Ring operation

This function has an answer back call feature. You can

conrm whether or not a call has reached your group

members, even if the operators are temporarily away from
their transceivers.
The called transceivers automatically send an answer back
call to your transceiver.

NOTE: To use this function, the operating channel and
CTCSS tone must be the same on all of your group
transceivers.

1. Push [Upper] to make a Smart-Ring call.

• When an answer back call is received, the transceiver sounds
beeps and the LED indicator blinks orange.

- Turn OFF the transceiver to stop the beeps and the LED

blinking.

• When no answer back call is received, the transceiver sounds
three short failure beeps.

2. Push [PTT] to answer the call and stop the beeps and
blinking.

BATTERY CHARGING

■ Caution

NOTE: Misuse of Lithium-ion batteries may result in

the following hazards: smoke, re, or the battery may

rupture. Misuse can also cause damage to the battery or
degradation of battery performance.

D Battery caution

R DANGER! NEVER strike or otherwise impact the battery

pack. Do not use the pack if it has been severely impacted
or dropped, or if it has been subjected to heavy pressure.
Battery damage may not be visible on the outside of the
case. Even if the surface of the pack does not show cracks
or any other damage, the cells inside may rupture or catch

re.

R DANGER! NEVER leave the battery pack in areas with

temperatures above +60˚C. High temperature buildup in

the battery cells, such as could occur near res or stoves,
inside a sun-heated vehicle, or in direct sunlight for long
periods of time may cause the battery to rupture or catch

re. Excessive temperatures may also degrade pack’s

performance or shorten the battery cell’s life.
R DANGER! NEVER expose the battery pack to rain, snow,

salt water, or any other liquids. Do not charge or use a wet
battery pack. If the pack gets wet, be sure to wipe it dry
before using. The battery pack itself is not waterproof.

R DANGER! NEVER place battery packs near a re. Fire
or heat may cause them to rupture or explode. Dispose of
used packs in accordance with local regulations.

R DANGER! NEVER solder the battery cell’s terminals,
and NEVER modify the battery pack. This may cause heat
generation, and the battery cells may burst, emit smoke, or

catch re.

R DANGER! NEVER use the battery pack with a

transceiver for which it is not specied. Never use a pack
with any other equipment, or for any purpose that is not

specied in this instruction manual.

R DANGER! NEVER let uid from inside the battery cells
get in your eyes. If it does, blindness can result. Rinse
your eyes with clean water, without rubbing them, and
immediately go to a doctor.

R WARNING! NEVER use the battery pack if it emits an
abnormal odor, heats up, or is discolored or deformed. If
any of these conditions occur, contact your Icom dealer or
distributor.

R WARNING! NEVER let uid from inside the battery cells
come in contact with your body. If it does, immediately wash
with clean water.

R WARNING! NEVER put the battery pack in a microwave
oven, high-pressure container, or in an induction heating

cooker. This could cause a re, overheating, or cause the

battery cells to rupture.

CAUTION: DO NOT use the battery pack out of the

specied temperature range, for the transceiver –25°C to

+55°C, and the battery itself –20°C to +60°C. Using the

pack out of its specied temperature range will reduce it’s

performance and the battery cell’s life. Please note that the

specied temperature range of the pack may exceed that of

the transceiver. In such cases, the transceiver may not work
properly because it is out of its operating temperature range.

CAUTION: Shorter battery pack life could occur if the pack is
left fully charged, completely discharged, or in an excessive

temperature environment (above +50˚C) for an extended

period of time. If the battery pack must be left unused for
a long time, it must be detached from the transceiver after
discharging.

in the following temperature range:

–20˚C to +50˚C (within a month)
–20˚C to +40˚C (within three months)
–20˚C to +20˚C (within a year)

BE SURE to replace the battery pack with a new one

approximately ve years after manufacturing, even if it still

holds a charge. The material inside the battery cells will
become weak after a period of time, even with little use. The
estimated number of times you can charge the pack is between
300 and 500. Even when the pack appears to be fully charged,
the operating time of the transceiver may become short when:

• Approximately ve years have passed since the pack was

manufactured.

• The pack has been repeatedly charged.

You may use the battery until the remaining

D Charging caution

R DANGER! NEVER charge the battery pack in areas with

extremely high temperatures, such as near res or stoves,

inside a sun-heated vehicle, or in direct sunlight. In such
environments, the safety/protection circuit in the pack will
activate and stop the charging.

R WARNING! NEVER charge the transceiver during a
lightning storm. It may result in an electric shock, cause a

re or damage the transceiver. Always disconnect the power

adapter before a storm.
R WARNING! NEVER charge or leave the battery pack in

the battery charger beyond the specied time for charging.
If the pack is not completely charged by the specied time,

stop charging and remove it from the battery charger.

Continuing to charge the pack beyond the specied time
limit may cause a re, overheating, or the battery cells may

rupture.
R WARNING! NEVER insert the transceiver (with the

battery pack attached) into the charger if it is wet or soiled.
This could corrode the battery charger terminals or damage
the charger. The charger is not waterproof.

CAUTION: DO NOT charge the battery outside of the
specied temperature range: BC-213 (10˚C to 40˚C),
BC-214 (15˚C to 40˚C). Icom recommends charging the

battery at +20˚C. The battery may heat up or rupture if
charged out of the specied temperature range. Additionally,

battery performance or battery life may be reduced.

D Rapid charging with the supplied BC-213

The BC-213 desktop charger rapidly charges the Li-ion
battery pack.
The BC-213 is used with the power adapter or the CP-23L

cigarette lighter cable (purchase separately).

• Charging time of the BP-280

Approximately 3.5 hours

CAUTION: DO NOT continue to charge if the charge
indicator lights orange and green alternately. This indicates
a charging failure is occurring.

NOTE: Charge the battery within the specied temperature

range of 10°C to 40°C. Otherwise, the charging time will
be longer, but the battery will not reach a full charge. While
charging, at the point where the temperature goes out of

the specied range, charging will automatically stop.

EMPFEHLUNG

MITGELIEFERTES ZUBEHÖR

DEN TRANSCEIVER GRÜNDLICH MIT FRISCHWASSER
REINIGEN, nachdem er Salzwasser ausgesetzt wurde,

und vor der erneuten Inbetriebnahme trocknen. Andernfalls
können Tasten, Schalter und Steuerteile des Transceivers
durch Salzkristallisation unbedienbar werden, oder es kann
Korrosion auf den Akku-Ladeklemmen verursacht werden.

HINWEIS: Wenn der wasserfeste Schutz des Transceivers
defekt erscheint, sorgfältig mit einem weichen,
befeuchteten (mit Frischwasser) Lappen und vor der
Inbetriebnahme trocknen. Der Transceiver kann seinen
wasserdichten Schutz verlieren, falls das Gehäuse,
Buchsenkappen oder Steckerkappen gesprungen oder
beschädigt sind, oder wenn der Transceiver fallengelassen
wurde.

Gegenständen in einer Handtasche o.A. transportiert wird.
Kurzschlüsse sind unbedingt zu vermeiden, um Beschädigungen
am Akku-Pack oder am Handfunkgerät auszuschließen.

R GEFAHR! Benutzen Sie in Icom-Handfunkgerätn

ausschließlich von Icom spezizierte Akku-Packs. Nur Icom-

Akku-Packs sind für diese Zwecke getestet und zugelassen.

■ Empfangen und senden

Empfangen

1. [Kanalwähler] drehen, um den gewünschten Kanal zu wählen.

2. Wenn ein Anruf empfangen wird, mit [VOL] die
Lautstärke auf einen angenehmen Pegel einstellen.

Senden

Um Störungen zu vermeiden, immer warten, bis der Kanal frei ist.

[PTT]-Taste gedrückt halten und mit normaler Lautstärke
und Stimme in das Mikrofon sprechen.

2. [PTT]-Taste loslassen, um zum Empfang zurückzukehren.

HINWEISE: Um die optimale Verständlichkeit des
Sendesignals zu gewährleisten:

1. Nach Drücken der [PTT]-Taste bis zum Sprechen
einige Sekunden warten.

2. Handfunkgerät 5 bis 10 cm vom Mund entfernt halten
und mit normaler Stimme ins Mikrofon sprechen.

■ Klingelton

Diese Funktion sendet den voreingestellten Rufton an Ihre
Gruppenmitglieder.

HINWEISE: Um diese Funktion nutzen zu können,
müssen der Betriebskanal und der CTCSS-Ton auf allen
Gruppen-Transceivern gleich sein.

Halten Sie die [obere] Funktionstaste 1 Sekunde lang
gedrückt, um den voreingestellten Klingelton zu senden.

• Die Klingelmelodie ist hörbar, solange die [Obere] Funktionstaste

gedrückt gehalten wird.

• Die gleiche Klingelmelodie hören nun alle Gruppenmitglieder.

■ Smart-Klingel

Die Smart-Klingel-Funktion besitzt eine
Rückantwortmöglichkeit. Diese erlaubt die Bestätigung
eines Anrufes auch dann, wenn das angerufene Mitglied
der Gruppe das Handfunkgerät nicht bedienen kann, weil es
z. B. nicht in der Nähe ist. Das angerufene Handfunkgerät
sendet automatisch eine Rückantwort an Ihr Handfunkgerät.

HINWEISE: Um diese Funktion nutzen zu können,
müssen der Betriebskanal und der CTCSS-Ton auf allen
Gruppen-Transceivern gleich sein.

1. Bei allen Funkgeräten der Gruppe denselben Kanal
wählen und die gleiche CTCSS-Einstellung vornehmen.

2. [Obere] Funktionstaste drücken, um anzuklingeln.

• Wenn ein Gruppenmitglied Ihren Anruf beantwortet, ertönen
aus Ihrem Handfunkgerät. Pieptöne und die Indikator-LED
blinkt orange.

- [Untere] Funktionstaste drücken, um die Pieptöne und das

Blinken abzubrechen.

• Falls kein Gruppenmitglied antwortet, ertönen aus Ihrem
Handfunkgerät kurze Warntöne.

3. [PTT] drücken, um mit dem Gruppenmitglied zu
kommunizieren und die Pieptöne bzw. das Blinken zu
beenden.

D Warnhinweise zum Akku-Pack

HINWEISE: Der falsche Gebrauch von Lithium-Ionen-Akku-

Packs kann Folgendes auslösen: Rauchentwicklung, Feuer
oder Explosion des Akku-Packs. Außerdem kann der Akku­Pack Schaden nehmen oder seine Kapazität verlieren.

R GEFAHR! NIEMALS auf den Akku-Pack einschlagen oder
ihn anderweitig deformieren. Akku-Packs, auf die mechanisch
eingewirkt wurde, die heruntergefallen sind oder Deformationen
aufweisen, dürfen nicht mehr eingesetzt werden. Auch wenn
das Gehäuse des Akku-Packs keine sichtbaren Schäden
aufweist, kann das Innere des Akku-Packs defekt sein.

R GEFAHR! Nutzen oder lagern Sie Akku-Packs NIEMALS
bei Temperaturen von mehr als +60 °C. Bei höheren
Temperaturen besteht die Gefahr einer Selbstentzündung
bzw. eines Berstens des Akku-Packs. Überhitzung führt
außerdem zu einer Reduzierung der Akkukapazität bzw. der
möglichen Anzahl der Ladezyklen.

GEFAHR! Setzen Sie den Akku-Pack NIEMALS Regen,

Schnee, Seewasser oder anderen Flüssigkeiten aus. Nass
gewordene Akku-Packs dürfen weder benutzt noch geladen
werden, sondern sind zuvor sorgfältig zu trocknen. Die Akku­Packs sind nicht wasserdicht.

R GEFAHR!
Dabei können Gase entstehen, die gesundheitsgefährdend
sind und Explosionen verursachen können.

R GEFAHR! Falls aus dem Akku-Pack Flüssigkeit austritt,
darf diese keinesfalls in die Augen gelangen. Falls dies doch
geschieht, sollte man die Augen mit klarem Wasser spülen
und sofort einen Arzt aufsuchen.

R WARNUNG! Beenden Sie sofort den Gebrauch eines
Akku-Packs, wenn er ungewöhnliche Gerüche abgibt, sich
erhitzt, verfärbt oder deformiert. Setzen Sie sich in diesen
Fällen mit Ihrem Händler in Verbindung.

R WARNUNG! Waschen Sie das betreffende Körperteil
sofort mit klarem Wasser, wenn Sie in Kontakt mit einer aus
dem Akku-Pack ausgetretenen Flüssigkeit gekommen sind.

R WARNUNG! Legen Sie den Akku-Pack NIEMALS
in eine Mikrowelle, einen Schnellkochtopf oder auf
einen Induktionsherd. Dabei besteht akute Brand- und
Explosionsgefahr.

ACHTUNG: Nutzen Sie den Akku-Pack immer nur im
Betriebstemperaturbereich zwischen –25°C und +55°C und
den Akku-Pack selbst bei Temperaturen zwischen –20°C
und +60°C. Die Verwendung bei höheren oder niedrigeren

Temperaturen mindert die Kapazität des Akku-Packs und
verkürzt seine Lebensdauer. Es ist zu beachten, dass der
Temperaturbereich für den Akku-Pack größer als der des
Handfunkgeräts ist.

ACHTUNG:

sich, wenn er längere Zeit voll ge- oder entladen oder bei
Temperaturen von mehr als +50 °C gelagert wird. Falls
der Akku-Pack längere Zeit nicht genutzt wird, muss er im
Handfunkgerät etwa halb entladen werden und an einem
trockenen Ort bei folgenden Temperaturen gelagert werden:

–20˚C to +50˚C (längstens 1 Monat)
–20˚C to +40˚C (längstens 3 Monate)
–20˚C to +20˚C (längstens 1 Jahr)

ERSETZEN Sie den Akku-Pack nach 5 Jahren, selbst
wenn der bisher benutzte noch die volle Kapazitat zu
haben scheint. Dies ist erforderlich, weil sich das Material
im Akku-Pack im Laufe der Zeit chemisch verändert, selbst
wenn der Akku-Pack kaum genutzt wurde. Die geschätzte
Anzahl der möglichen Ladezyklen des Akkus liegt zwischen
300 und 500. Selbst wenn der Akku vollständig geladen zu
sein scheint, kann sich die Betriebszeit des Handfunkgerät
verkürzen, wenn:

• Etwa fünf Jahre vergangen sind, seit der Akku hergestellt
wurde.

• Der Akku wiederholt geladen wurde.

D Warnhinweise zum Laden

R GEFAHR! Laden Sie den Akku-Pack NIEMALS bei

extrem hohen Temperaturen, wie sie in der Nähe von
offenem Feuer oder Öfen bzw. in Fahrzeugen und bei
direktem Sonnenlicht auftreten können. Unter derartigen
Umständen wird die Schutzschaltung des Akku-Packs
aktiviert und der Ladevorgang gestoppt.

R WARNUNG! NIEMALS den Transceiver während eines
Gewitters laden. Dabei besteht die Gefahr von elektrischem
Schlag, Brand oder Beschädigung des Transceivers. Immer
das Netzteil vor einem Sturm abtrennen.

R WARNUNG! Laden Sie den Akku-Pack NIE länger als
vorgesehen. Falls der Akku-Pack innerhalb der Ladezeit
nicht vollständig geladen wird, Ladevorgang beenden
und den Akku-Pack aus dem Ladegerät nehmen. Eine
Fortsetzung des Ladens kann zur Überhitzung des Akku­Packs mit Brandfolge führen.

R WARNUNG! Setzen Sie das Handfunkgerät (mit Akku-
Pack) NIE in das Ladegerät, wenn es feucht oder nass ist.
Feuchtigkeit führt zu Korrosion der Kontakte. Das Ladegerät
ist nicht wasserdicht.

ACHTUNG: Laden Sie den Akku NICHT außerhalb des

Ladetemperaturbereichs BC-213 (10˚C bis 40˚C), BC-214
(15˚C bis 40˚C). Andernfalls erhöht sich nicht nur die

Ladezeit, sondern der Akku-Pack erreicht auch nicht

die spezizierte Kapazität. Beim Laden nahe der

höchstzulässigen Temperatur kann es sein, dass die
Schutzschaltung den Ladevorgang automatisch beendet.

¡CUIDADO! El transceptor cumple con los requerimientos

Recibir

1. Gire [Selector Rotativo] para seleccionar un canal.

2. Cuando recibe una llamada, gire [VOL] para ajustar la
salida de audio a un nivel en el que se sienta cómodo.

Transmitir

Espere hasta que el canal esté libre para evitar interferencias.

Mientras mantiene pulsado [PTT], hable con un nivel de
voz normal.

2. Suelte [PTT] para recibir.

NOTA: Para asegurar la legibilidad de su señal:

1. Trás pulsar [PTT], pausa brevemente antes de
empezar a hablar.

2. Mantenga el micrófono de 5 a 10 cm de su boca y
hable hacia el micrófono en un tono de voz normal.

■ Función Call-Ring (Timbre de llamada)

Esta función envía el timbre preestablecido a los mienbros
de su grupo.

NOTA: Para utilizar esta función, el canal de operación
y el tono CTCSS deben ser los mismos en todos los
transceptores de su grupo.

Mantenga pulsado [Arriba] durante 1 segundo para enviar el

El transceptor posee una función de respuesta. Podrá

conrmar si una llamada ha llegado a los miembros de su

grupo o no, incluso cuando los operadores están lejos de
sus transceptores temporalmente .
El transceptor que recibió la llamada, enviará una respuesta
a su transceptor automáticamente.

NOTA: Para utilizar esta función, el canal de operación
y el tono CTCSS deben ser los mismos en todos los
transceptores de su grupo.

1. Ajuste el mismo canal operativo y el tono CTCSS a a
todos los transceptores de su grupo.

2. Pulse [Arriba] para hacer la llamada Smart-Ring.

• Cuando reciba una respuesta, el transceptor sonará pitidos
cada y el indicador LED parpadeará en color naranja.

- Apague el transceptor para detener la alarma y el parpadeo

de LED.

• Cuando no recibe la respuesta, el transcepotor sonará pitidos
cortos de error.

3. Pulse[PTT] para responder a la llamada y detener los
pitidos y el parpadeo.

■ Precauciones

NOTE: El mal uso de las baterías de Ión-Litio conlleva los

siguientes peligros: humo, fuego o ruptura de la batería. El
mal uso también podría causar daños en la batería o una
degradación en su rendimiento.

D Precauciones de la batería

R ¡PELIGRO! NO golpee o provoque otros impactos

en la batería. No utilice la batería si ha sido fuertemente
golpeada, si ha sufrido una fuerte caída o si ha sido
sometida a alta presión. Los daños de la batería podrían no
ser visible en el exterior del armazón. Incluso cuando las

supercies de la batería no muestran suras u otros daños,

las pilas internas podrían reventar o incendiarse.
R ¡PELIGRO! NUNCA utilice o deje la batería en zonas con

temperaturas superiores a +60˚C. Si la batería alcanza altas

temperaturas, como al estar cerca de un fuego o brasas,
dentro de un coche calentado por el sol, o bajo la luz solar
directa se puede producir la rotura de la batería o prenderse
fuego. Temperaturas excesivas también podrían degradar el
rendimiento o acortar la vida de la batería.
R ¡PELIGRO! NO exponga la batería a lluvia, nieve, agua
salada, o cualquier otro líquido. No cargue o utilice una
batería mojada. Si la batería se moja, asegúrese de secarla
bien antes de utilizarla.
R ¡PELIGRO! MANTENGA la batería lejos del fuego. El fuego
o el calor podría provocar su ruptura o explosión. Disponer de
una batería usada de acuerdo con las normas locales.

R ¡PELIGRO! NUNCA suelde los terminales de la batería.
Esto podría generar calor lo que provocaría la ruptura de la
batería, la emisión de humos o un incendio.
R ¡PELIGRO! Utilice la batería únicamente con el

transceptor para el cual se ha especicado. Nunca utilice la

batería con otro equipo o para cualquier otro propósito no

especicado en el manual de instrucciones.

R ¡PELIGRO! Si el uido interno de la batería entra en
contacto con sus ojos podría provocarle ceguera. Aclare sus
ojos con abundante agua limpia, sin frotarlos y acuda a un
médico inmediatamente.
R ¡ADVERTENCIA! Deje de usar la batería si emite un
olor anormal, se calienta, o está descolorida o deformada.
Si ocurre cualquier de estas condiciones contacte con su
distribuidor Icom.
R ¡ADVERTENCIA! Lave inmediatamente usando agua
limpia cualquier parte de su cuerpo que haya entrado en

contacto con el uido interno de la batería.

R ¡ADVERTENCIA! NUNCA ponga la batería en un horno
microhondas, contenedor de alta presión, o en una cocina
de inducción. Podría recalentar, causar un incendio romper
la batería.
PRECAUCIÓN: Siempre utilice la batería dentro del rango

de temperaturas especicado, para el transceptor (–25°C a

+55°C), y la batería (–20°C a +60°C). Usando la batería fuera
de este rango disminuirá el rendimiento de la batería y su

vida útil. Nótese que el rango de temperatura especicada de

la batería puede superar lo del transceptor. En tales casos,
el transceptor puede que no funcione correctamente porque
está fuera de su rango de temperatura operativa.

CARGA DE LA BATERÍA

PRECAUCIÓN: La vida de la batería se verá reducida si se
deja completamente cargada, descargada, o en un entorno
con una temperatura excesiva (sobre +50°C) durante un
largo periodo de tiempo. Si debe dejar la batería inutilizada
durante un largo periodo de tiempo deberá desmontarla del
equipo tras haberla descargado. Utilice la batería hasta que
su capacidad esté por la mitad, des pués colóquela en un
lugar seguro, fresco y seco, y en el rango de temperaturas
que se muestran a continuación:

–20˚C to +50˚C (durante un mes)
–20˚C to +40˚C (durante tres meses)
–20˚C to +20˚C (menos de un año)

ASEGÚRESE de cambiar la batería con la nueva desués de
cinco años, incluso si aún mantiene la carga. El material de
la batería interna se deteriorará después de un período de
tiempo, incluso con poco uso. El número de veces estimado
de la carga de la batería es entre 300 y 500. Aunque
cuando la batería parece que está cargada completamente,
la duración del transceptor podrá acortarse cuando:

• Ha sido aproximadamente cinco años desde la fabricación
de la batería.

• La batería se había cargado repetidamente.

D Precuauciones de la carga

R ¡PELIGRO! NUNCA cargue la batería en areas de

temperatures excesivas, como al estar cerca de un fuego
o brasas, dentro de un coche calentado por el sol, o bajo
la luz solar directa. En dichos entornos el circuito de
seguridad/protección de la batería se activaría causando la
detención de la carga.
R ¡ADVERTENCIA! NUNCA cargue el radiotransmisor
durante una tormenta eléctrica. Podría sufrir una descarga
eléctrica, provocar un incendio o dañar el radiotransmisor.
Desconecte siempre el adaptador de alimentación antes de
una tormenta.
R ¡ADVERTENCIA! NUNCA cargue o deje la batería en

el cargador más tiempo del especicado para su carga. Si

la batería no está completamente cargada transcurrido el

tiempo especicado deje de cargarla y retírela del cargador.
Cargar la batería más tiempo del especicado podría causar

un incendio, sobrecalentamiento o ruptura de la batería.
R ¡ADVERTENCIA! NUNCA inserte el transceptor (con la
batería montada) en el cargador si está mojado o húmedo.
Esto podría corroerse los terminales de la batería o dañarse
el cargador. El cargador no es impermeable.

PRECAUCIÓN

R DANGER ! NE JAMAIS mettre en court-circuit les bornes (ou les
bornes de charge) du pack batterie. De plus, des fuites de courant
peuvent se produire via les objets métalliques environnants tels
qu'une clé, il est donc primordial de prendre toutes les précautions
nécessaires lors du rangement d'un pack-batterie (ou du portatif)
dans une pochette ou autre étui. Le transport avec ou le rangement
à proximité d'objets métalliques tels une clé, peut provoquer
un court-circuit. Ces courts-circuits peuvent endommager non
seulement le pack batterie mais également le portatif.

R DANGER! Utiliser et charger exclusivement le pack batterie

spécié par Icom avec les portatifs ou les chargeurs Icom. Seuls les

packs batteries Icom ont été testés et homologués pour l'utilisation
avec un portatif ou des chargeurs Icom. L'utilisation de packs
batteries ou de chargeurs d'autres fabricants ou de contrefaçons,
peut provoquer un dégagement de fumée, un incendie ou
l'éclatement de la batterie.

R MISE EN GARDE ! NE JAMAIS approcher l’antenne ni la
mettre en contact en cours d’émission avec les parties exposées du
corps, particulièrement le visage et les yeux. Les performances du
portatif sont optimales quand le microphone est tenu entre 5 et 10

■ Réception et Émission

Réception :

1. Tourner le [Rotacteur] pour sélectionner un canal.

2. À réception d'un appel, tourner le bouton [VOL] pour
régler le volume à un niveau d'écoute confortable.

Émission : Attendre que le canal soit libre avant d'émettre,

an d'éviter les interférences.

Pour émettre, appuyer et maintenir la touche [PTT] et

2. Relâcher la touche [PTT] pour recevoir.

REMARQUE : Pour augmenter la lisibilité du signal.

■ Tonalité d’appel

Cette fonction transmet la sonnerie préréglée aux membres
de votre groupe.

REMARQUE : Pour utiliser cette fonction, le canal
d'exploitation et la tonalité CTCSS doivent être identiques
sur tous les émetteurs-récepteurs du groupe.

Maintenez la touche [▲] enfoncée pendant 1 seconde pour
envoyer la sonnerie préréglée.

• La tonalité retentit aussi longtemps que l’opérateur appuie sur la touche [▲].

• La même tonalité d’appel retentit via les haut-parleurs des

membres du groupe.

■ Sonnerie personnalisée Smart- Ring

Cette fonction comprend une sous-fonction de réponse. Elle

permet de vérier qu’un appel a ou non atteint les membres

du groupe, même si les opérateurs sont éloignés de leur
portatif. Le portatif appelé émet automatiquement un accusé
de réception à destination de la station émettrice.

REMARQUE : Pour utiliser cette fonction, le canal
d'exploitation et la tonalité CTCSS doivent être identiques
sur tous les émetteurs-récepteurs du groupe.

1. Programmer le même canal de trafic et la même
tonalité CTCSS pour tous les émetteurs-récepteurs du
groupe.

2. Appuyer sur [▲] pour émettre un appel sélectif Smart-
Ring.

• Au retour d’un accusé de réception, le portatif émet des bips
sonores et la LED témoin clignote en orange.

- Eteindre le portatif pour arrêter les bips et le clignotement

de la led.

• Quand il n'y a pas d'accusé de réception d'appel, le portatif
émet trois bips caractéristiques d'échec.

3. Appuyer sur [PTT] pour répondre à l’appel pour
interrompre les bips et le clignotement.

REMARQUE : Une mauvaise utilisation des batteries au Lithium-

Ion présente les risques suivants : dégagement de fumée,
incendie ou éclatement de la batterie. Une mauvaise utilisation
peut également endommager la batterie ou en dégrader les
performances.

D Précautions d'emploi de la batterie

R DANGER ! NE PAS marteler ni cogner le pack batterie d’une

quelconque manière. Ne pas utiliser un pack batterie qui a reçu
un choc important, qui est tombé au sol ou qui a été soumis à
des pressions élevées. Les dommages subis par le pack batterie

peuvent ne pas être visibles à l'extérieur. Même si aucune ssure ni

trace de dommages n’est visible en surface, les éléments internes
du pack batterie peuvent éclater ou prendre feu.

R DANGER ! NE JAMAIS utiliser ni exposer le pack batterie
à une température supérieure à +60 °C. Un pack batterie placé
à proximité d’un feu ou d’un poêle, en plein soleil ou dans une

voiture exposée au soleil peut accumuler sufsamment de chaleur

interne pour exploser ou prendre feu. Les températures excessives
peuvent également altérer les performances ou abréger la durée de
vie de la batterie.

R DANGER ! NE PAS exposer le pack batterie à la pluie, la neige,
l'eau de mer, ni à tout autre liquide. Ne pas recharger ni utiliser un
pack batterie humide. Essuyer soigneusement un pack batterie
humide avant toute utilisation.

R DANGER ! MAINTENIR
L'exposition au feu ou à la chaleur excessive peuvent provoquer
l’éclatement ou l’explosion du pack batterie. Mettre les packs batterie
usagés au rebut en respectant la réglementation locale.

ATTENTION :

température est particulièrement élevée (au-delà de +50˚C),
pendant une longue période, peut en réduire signicativement

la durée de vie. Si le pack batterie doit rester inutilisé pendant
une longue période, il faut l'enlever du portatif une fois déchargé.
Utiliser le pack batterie jusqu'à ce qu'il soit à moitié déchargé,
puis entreposer le pack batterie dans un local sec et frais à une
température comprise dans les plages ci-dessous :

–20˚C to +50˚C (moins d'un mois).
–20˚C to +40˚C (moins de trois mois).
–20˚C to +20˚C (un an maximum)

VEILLEZ à remplacer la batterie par une nouvelle après cinq
ans, même si elle maintient la charge. Les matériaux présents
à l'intérieur de la batterie se détériorent après un certain temps,
même en cas d'utilisation réduite.
Le nombre de fois où il est possible de charger la batterie est
estimé entre 300 et 500 fois en fonction de l'utilisation.
Même lorsque la batterie indique qu'elle est complètement chargée,
le temps d'utilisation du poste peut être réduit dans les cas suivants:

durant un orage. Cela risquerait de provoquer un choc électrique,
un incendie ou d'endommager l'émetteur-récepteur. Toujours
débrancher l'adaptateur de courant avant une tempête.

R MISE EN GARDE ! NE JAMAIS charger ou laisser le pack
batterie dans le chargeur de batterie au-delà de la durée de charge
indiquée. Interrompre la charge et enlever le pack batterie du

chargeur s’il n'est pas complètement chargé à la n de la durée

indiquée. La poursuite de la charge au-delà de la durée indiquée
peut provoquer un incendie, une surchauffe ou l'éclatement du pack
batterie.

R MISE EN GARDE ! NE JAMAIS insérer le portatif mouillé ou

sale (pack batterie xé à l'appareil) dans le chargeur, au risque de

corroder les bornes du chargeur ou d'endommager le chargeur. Le
chargeur n'est pas étanche.

ATTENTION : NE JAMAIS recharger la batterie hors de la plage

de température spéciée: BC-213 (10˚C to 40˚C), BC-214 (15˚C to
40˚C). Icom recommande une température de charge de +20˚C. La

batterie peut surchauffer ou être détériorée si elle est chargée hors

de la plage de température spéciée. Par ailleurs, ceci peut réduire

les performances ou la longévité de la batterie.

ACCESSORI IN DOTAZIONE

prima dell'utilizzo. Si eviterà così che i tasti, gli interruttori
e i comandi del ricetrasmettitore divengano inutilizzabili a

carica del pacco batteria arrugginiscano.

NOTA: Se la protezione impermeabile del ricetrasmettitore
appare difettosa, pulirla bene con un panno morbido
e bagnato (di acqua dolce), e poi asciugarla prima

come collane od altro, pertanto prestate attenzione quando
riponete il pacco batterie (o il ricetrasmettitore) dentro una
borsetta, ecc.
Basta averle riposte vicino ad oggetti metallici per avere
l’accidentale cortocircuito, che non si limita a danneggiare il
pacco batterie ma lo stesso ricetrasmettitore.

R PERICOLO! Usate e ricaricate solo i pacchi batterie
originali Icom con le radio ed i caricabatteria Icom. Solo
questi sono stati provati ed approvati all'uso con le
apparecchiature Icom. Usando pacchi batteria o caricatori
reperiti sul mercato si rischia fumo, incendio o scoppio della
batteria.

R AVVISO! MAI tenere il ricetrasmettitore in modo che
l’antenna sia molto vicina o a contatto con parti esposte
del corpo, in particolare il viso e gli occhi mentre si è in
trasmissione. Il ricetrasmettitore ha migliore resa quando il

ASSICURATEVI d'aver spento l'apparecchio, prima di

NOTA: Per dare al vostro segnale la massima comprensibilità:

d'iniziare a parlare.

cm dalla bocca, con un normale tono di voce.

■ Operatività "Call-Ring"

Questa funzione invia la suoneria preimpostata ai membri del gruppo.

NOTA:

Per utilizzare questa funzione, il canale operativo
e il tono CTCSS devono essere uguali su tutti i
ricetrasmettitori del gruppo.

Tenere premuto il tasto laterale [SU] per 1 secondo per
inviare la suoneria preimpostata.

• Mentre si tiene premuto [Su], il ricetrasmettitore trilla.

• Lo stesso trillo sarà riprodotto in altoparlante nelle radio dei

membri vostro gruppo.

■ Operatività "Smart-Ring"

Questa operatività prevede la notica a riscontro.

Ricevete conferma se la vostra chiamata ha raggiunto i
ricetrasmettitori, anche se gli operatori erano lontani da
questi.
Il ricetrasmettitore chiamato automaticamente invia a voi il
riconoscimento di chiamata.

NOTA:

Per utilizzare questa funzione, il canale operativo
e il tono CTCSS devono essere uguali su tutti i
ricetrasmettitori del gruppo.

1. Selezionate il canale operativo ed il subtono CTCSS
convenuto per tutto il vostro gruppo di ricetrasmettitori.

2. Premete [Su] per inviare la chiamata intelligente
"Smart-Ring".

• Ricevendo la risposta, il ricetrasmettitore trilla ogni 10" e la
spia LED lampeggia arancio.

- Spegnere la ricetrasmittente per far cessare i segnali

acustici ed il lampeggiare del LED.

• Quando non riceve il segnale di answer back (ACK), la
ricetrasmittente emette tre brevi segnali acustici di failure.

3. Premete il [PTT] per conversare, cessa il trillo ed il
lampeggio.

■ Precauzioni

NOTA: Un utilizzo errato delle batteria agli ioni di

litio comporta que-sti rischi: fumo, incendio, possibile
rottura del pacco batteria. Un utilizzo errato può anche
comportare danni o degrado del-le prestazioni del pacco
batteria.

D Relative al pacco batteria

R PERICOLO! NON colpite o fate subire colpi alla batteria.

Non mettete in uso una batteria che ha subito colpi intensi
o è caduta o se è stata sottoposta a pressione elevata.
Potrebbe avere subito danni non rilevabili esternamente,
cioè in un guscio apparentemente non danneggiato, le celle
interne potrebbero essere rotte o bruciare.

R PERICOLO! MAI usate o lasciate le batterie in ambienti
la cui temperatura è oltre i 60 °C. Accumulo di calore

nella batteria si può vericare in vicinanza di amme o

scaldavivande, all’interno di un veicolo posto sotto il sole o
la diretta esposizione al sole; si rischia la rottura o l’incendio
della batteria. Temperatura eccessiva inoltre degrada le
prestazioni della batteria o ne riduce la vita utile.

R PERICOLO! NON esponete la batteria a pioggia, neve,
acqua marina o altri liquidi. Non ricaricate o usate una
batteria umida. Nel caso che la batteria sia umida asciugatela
prima di porta in uso. Il pacco batteria non è stagno.

R PERICOLO! TENETE il pacco batteria lontano dal fuoco.
Fuoco o temperatura troppo elevata possono comportare la
rottura o l'esplosione del pacco batteria. Smaltite le batterie

esauste rispettando le disposizioni locali per questo tipo di riuto.

R PERICOLO! MAI eseguite saldature sui terminali o

cercate di modicare il pacco. Si può generare del calore e

la batteria può bruciare, emettere fumo o incendiarsi.
R PERICOLO! Usate la batteria solo nel ricetrasmettitore di tipo

specicato. Mai abbinatela ad altre apparecchiature o usatela
per scopi diversi non specicati in questo manuale d’uso.

R PERICOLO! Se il uido interno della batteria nisce sui
vostri occhi rischiate la cecità. Nel caso, risciaquateli con acqua
senza sfregarli, immediatamente rivolgetevi ad un medico.

R AVVISO! Se la batteria emette odori anormali, si riscalda
o si scolora o deforma, immediatamente terminate d’usarla
e rivolgetevi ad un Rivenditore Icom.

R AVVISO! MAI Se parti del corpo entrano in contatto con il

uido interno della batteria, immediatamente lavate la parte

con acqua corrente.
R AVVISO! MAI mettete la batteria in un formo a

microonde, in un contenitore sottoposto ad alta pressione
o in un forno ad induzione. Si può innescare un incendio,
sovrariscaldamento o rottura della batteria.

ATTENZIONE: usate la batteria sempre entro il limite di
temperature ammesso per il ricetrasmettitore (da -25 a +55 °C)
o per la stessa batteria (da -20 a +60 °C). Usando la batteria
oltre questi limiti se ne riduce la prestazione e la vita utile.

Usando la batteria oltre questi limiti se ne riduce la prestazione
e la vita utile. La gamma di temperatura ammessa per la

batteria può essere più estesa di quella del ricetrasmettitore,

nel caso quest'ultimo non opererebbe correttamente perché è
oltre i limiti di temperatura operativa.

ATTENZIONE: La vita utile si riduce se la batteria è lasciata
per periodi prolungati, completamente carica o scarica o in
ambienti troppo caldi (oltre +50 °C). Se si prevede di non
usare la batteria per un periodo prolungato, estraetela dalla

radio parzialmente carica. Potete usarla no a circa mezza

capacità, poi deponetela in un posto fresco ed asciutto.

–20˚C to +50˚C (no ad un mese)
–20˚C to +40˚C (no ad tre mesi)
–20˚C to +20˚C (entro un anno)

DOVETE sostituire il pacco batteria con uno nuovo,
trascorsi 5 anni, anche se conserva discreta capacità
di carica. Trascorso questo tempo il materia interno
si deteriora, anche con modesto utilizzo. Il numero
approssimativo di cicli di carica che il pacco batterie può
sopportare è stimato tra le 300 e 500 volte. Anche quando
il pacco batterie appare completamente carico, il tempo
operativo della ricetrasmittente potrebbe ridursi quando:

• Sono passati approssimativamente cinque anni dalla data
di fabbrica della batteria.

• La batteria è stata ripetutamente caricata.

D Precauzioni per la ricarica

PERICOLO!

a temperatura elevata, come in vicinanza di fuochi o
fonti di calore, all’interno di un veicolo riscaldato dal sole,
direttamente sotto i raggi solari. In queste condizioni
ambientali il circuito di protezione della batteria s’attiva
bloccando la carica.

R AVVISO! MAI caricare il ricetrasmettitore durante un
temporale. Facendolo si rischierebbe di causare scosse
elettriche, incendi o danni al ricetrasmettitore. Scollegare
sempre l'adattatore di corrente prima di un temporale.

R AVVISO! MAI ricaricate o lasciate la batteria nel
caricatore oltre il tempo previsto di ricarica. Se entro questo
la batteria non completa il ciclo di carica, terminatela ed
estraete la batteria dal caricatore. Continuare la carica oltre

il tempo specicato può comportare rischio di incendio,

sovrariscaldamento oppure rottura della batteria.
R AVVISO! MAI inserire il ricetrasmettitore (con pacco

batterie inserito) nel caricatore se è bagnato o sporco.
Si potrebbero corrodere i terminali del caricatore o
danneggiare il caricatore. Questo non è impermeabile.

ATTENZIONE: ricaricate la batteria oltre il limite di

temperature ammesso da BC-213 (10˚C to 40˚C), BC-214
(15˚C to 40˚C). Diversamente il tempo di ricarica s'allunga,

pur non ricaricando a fondo il pacco batteria. Durante
la ricarica, se la temperatura esce dai limiti ammessi, la
ricarica si ferma automaticamente.

segnalazione avverte che s'è vericato un errore in
