06 Using the HD-uDTA for the First Time
1. Disconnect the coaxial cable currently connected to the TV set.
2. Connect the coaxial cable to the Cable In port on the back of the HD-uDTA.
3. (Optional) Connect one end of the short coaxial cable (provided in the kit) to the Cable ln or RF In port on the back of TV set.

Power on the HD-uDTA and the TV. a. (Optional) Adjust the audio/video mode of the TV.
The method varies with TV types. Typically, you can press the TV/AV key on the TV remote control. b. (Optional) Tune the TV and the HD-uDTA to the same channels. Tune the TV to channel 3 or channel 4. Set the Ch3/Ch4 switch to Ch3 if you have tuned the TV to channel 3 and Ch4 if you have tuned the TV to channel 4.

02 Safety Precautions
Before using the device, carefully read through these safety precautions.
Warning
To Reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to rain or moisture. Do not attempt to dismantle the device by yourself. In case of any fault, contact the appointed
maintenance center for assistance or repair.
Without prior written consent, no organization or individual is permitted to make any change to the
structure or safety and performance design of the device.
Do not allow children to play with the device or accessories. Swallowing the accessories may be
fatal.
Use only accessories authorized by the manufacturer such as the power adapter and battery
provided. All the accessories delivered with the DTA are applicable to the DTA only.
Before plugging or unplugging any cable, shut down the device and disconnect the power adapter
from the socket. Otherwise, a fire may occur.
Before using the device, ensure that the family electrical network is properly grounded. Ensure that
the coaxial cable and its shielding wire are properly grounded.
In bad weather (for example, during lightning) disconnect the device from the socket and disconnect all the cables that are connected to the device, such as the power cable and the coaxial cable, to prevent damage.
Keep the power plug clean and dry, to prevent electric shock or other hazards.
If the device emits smoke, sound, or a strange smell, immediately stop using the device, disconnect the power adapter from the socket, unplug the power plug and other cables, and remove the batteries. Contact the appointed maintenance center for repair.
Do not wrap the device and its accessories in cloth.
Do not place the device and its accessories in a microwave oven or a high-pressure container.
Do not place heavy objects on the device and its accessories.
Basic Requirements
Keep the device dry when storing, transporting, and/or operating the device.
Avoid any impact, bumps or jarring of the device during storage, transportation, and/or operation of the device.
While using the device, observe all applicable laws, directives and regulations, and respect the legal rights of other people.
Environmental Requirements
Place the device in a well-ventilated place. Do not expose the device to direct sunlight. Keep the device clean, free of dust and stains. The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that no objects filled with liquid,
such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus.
Place the device on a stable surface. Do not place any object on the top of the device. Do not place the device on or near flammable materials such as foam. Keep the device away from heat source or fire, such as a radiator or a candle. Keep the device away from any household appliances with strong magnetic fields or
electromagnetic fields, such as microwave oven, refrigerator, or mobile phone.
Operation Requirements
Make sure that the device and any connecting wires/cables do not get wet. If any liquid, such as water or coffee, gets into the device or on any connecting wires/cables, disconnect the power adapter from the socket immediately and unplug all the cables connected to the device, such as the power cable and the coaxial cable, and then contact the appointed maintenance center.
The power adapter for the device must meet the requirements of the input voltage of the device.
While plugging or unplugging any cable, make sure that your hands are dry.
Do not step on, pull, or crimp any cable. Otherwise, the cable may be damaged, leading to device malfunction.
Do not use old or damaged cables.
Do not look directly into the infrared transmitting interface on the remote control. Otherwise, your eyes may get hurt.
Make sure that no object (such as metal shavings) enters the device through the holes on the device.
Do not scratch the shell of the device. The shed painting may lead to skin allergy or device malfunctions. If the shed painting material drops into the host, a short circuit may occur.
Cleaning Requirements
Before cleaning the device, stop using it and disconnect the power adapter from the socket. Unplug all the cables connected to the device, such as the power cable and coaxial cable.

Do not clean the device shell with cleaning solutions or cleanser sprays. Instead, use a piece of dry
soft cloth to clean the device shell.
Power adapter
While plugging or unplugging the power adapter, make sure that your hands are dry. Before plugging or unplugging any cable, shut down the device and disconnect the power adapter
from the socket. Otherwise, a fire may occur.
If the device is not to be used for a long time, disconnect the power adapter and unplug the power
plug.
Use only the power adapter that is delivered with the device. When using the device, ensure that all the power plugs and sockets are not overheating.
Otherwise, a fire may occur.
Keep the power adapter away from water and other liquids and ensure that it is dry.
Do not use the device where water or other liquids can easily splash on the device (for example, near a tea cup). If water or other liquids splash or enter the power adapter, a fire or an electric shock may occur.
Do not disassemble or repair the device, or make any changes to it.
Do not throw the power adapter or allow anything to collide with it.
When lightning may occur, power off the device and then unplug the power adapter. Otherwise, a fire or an electric shock may occur.
When unplugging the power adapter, do not pull or drag its cable as the cable may be damaged, or a fire or an electric shock may occur.
Do not use force to bend the power adapter cable.
Do not use the device if the plug of the power adapter is damaged or if the plug is not firmly fit into the socket.
Battery Usage Requirements of Remote Control
Use only the recommended battery for the device. Pay attention to the polarity of the batteries while installing them.
If a battery does not easily fit in the device, do not attempt to force it. Otherwise, you may damage the battery and create a safety hazard.
Do not use different types of batteries together. For example, an alkaline battery and an Mn-Zn battery cannot be used together. Use the factory-made batteries or batteries manufactured by the same manufacturer.
Do not use a new battery with an old battery. When you replace batteries, it is recommended that

you replace all of them at the same time.
If the device is not to be used for a long time, it is recommended that you remove all of the batteries
from the device.
If a battery leaks, or emits smoke or an unusual smell, stop using it immediately. If battery fluid comes in contact with your skin or clothes, immediately rinse with water and seek
medical assistance.
If battery fluid goes into your eyes, do not rub your eyes but rather immediately rinse your eyes with
water and seek medical assistance.
Environmental Protection
Do not dispose of the abandoned device and/or battery in the garbage. Obey all local regulations on disposing of such devices, their packing materials, and used batteries. Support recycling.

Before connecting the cables, isolate the power supply to the HD-uDTA, TV set, and connected devices. Turn on the power supply only after all the cables are connected.
To plug or unplug a cable, first disconnect the connected device from the power supply to prevent damage.
