Basic safety
To avoid damagin g your phone, acces sories, or
any conne cted devices, an d to reduce th e risk
of re, burn s, or electric sho ck, follow these
precautions:

phone, adapter, or accessories.
• Do not crush or punc ture your phone, ada pter,
or accessories.
• Do not sho extern al contacts or circu its,
expose you r phone or adapter to op en ames
or lit tobac co products, or dis pose of them in
re or water.
• Do not use the phone or adapter near water or
other liq uids or handle t hem with wet hands .
• If the phone or ada pter gets wet, do not try to
dry it usin g an oven, microwave, or dr yer as this
may cause damage.
• Do not drop, throw, or try to b end your phone
or adapter.
• Do not use the pho ne or adapter if th ey aren’t
working properly or have been damaged or
dropped.

Maintai n a minimum sepa ration distanc e of 1.0 cm
(0.4 in) between your body and the phone.
To reduce the ri sk of accidents (and b ecause
it’s prohibite d by law in most c ountries), do not
use your phone while driving or while operating
machin ery, and do not use it while e ngaging
in other activities that have potentially serious

According to the USA Federal Communications
Commission (FCC): “Some health and safety
interest gr oups have interpreted c eain repos
to sugges t that wireless d evice use may be lin ked
to cancer a nd other illness es, posing potenti ally
greater ri sks for children th an adults. Whi le these
asse ions have gained inc reased public aen tion,
current ly no scientic evide nce establish es a
causa l link between wi reless device u se and
cancer or other illnesses.” Additional information

Emergency calls
• This phone oper ates using radio sign als, which
cannot guarantee connection in all conditions.
• Never rely solely on any wireless phone for
emergency communications.
Storage & cleaning
Follow th ese guidelines w hen using, storin g, or
cleaning your phone:
• Do not use the phone or adapter at ambient
tempera tures lower than 0 (32) or h igher
than 40 (104 ). Ideal s torage temperatu res
are 0 (32) to 40 (104 ).
• Unplug the pho ne and adapter befo re clean ing,
during li ghtning storms , or when unused for
extende d periods of time.
• Use a clean, so, a nd dry cloth to clean t he
device and accessories.
• Do not use any chemic al detergent, powd er,
or other chemical agents (such as alcohol or
benzene) to clean the phone or accessories.
• The phone and its charger generate heat during
normal o peration. Avoid prol onged, direct or
indirec t skin contact, sin ce this may result in
discomfo or burns.
Pacemaker and implantable medical
device precautions
Your phone rece ives and transmit s using LTE,
WCDMA , GSM, W i-Fi, and Bluetoot h technology,
and contains components that emit electromag-
netic el ds, which can intee re with pacemakers
and othe r implanted med ical devices. I f you have
a pacema ker or other implante d medical device ,
follow these precautions:
• Always keep the phone and its charger more
than 16 cm (6 in) from the s uace of the skin
near the p acemaker or oth er implanted me dical
device.
• Hold the phone on the other side of your body
from the pa cemaker or other i mplanted med ical
device.
• Do not carry t he phone in a breas t pocket or in a
pocket near the pacemaker or other implanted
medical device.
• If you have questions about using your phone
with such a dev ice, consult your he alth care
provider.
• If you suspect your d evice is inteering w ith
your pacemaker or other implanted medical
devices , turn o your phone and c onsult your
physicia n for information spe cic to your
medical device.
Power adapter safety
• When disconn ecting the power ad aper from
a power outl et, pull on the adapte r, never on
the cable.

adapter s sold through th e Google Store an d
selected vendors/retailers also have the proper
ceic ation. Do not use ada pters or accessor ies
that haven’t be en approved by Goo gle for use
with this phone.
• When charging th e phone, make sure the p ower
adapter is plugged into a socket near the phone
and is eas ily accessibl e.
• The phone should be connected only to adapters
that bear t he USB-IF logo o r have comp leted the
USB-IF compliance program.
Baery safety & disposal
• This phone contains a Lithium-ion polymer or
Lithium-i on baery, which meet s the standard
IEEE 1725 . Do not aempt to remove the ba ery
yoursel f. To replace it, take t he device to a
servi ce center author ized by Google. Us e of an
unqua lied baery may pre sent a risk of re,
explosi on, leakage, or oth er hazard.
• If the baery lea ks, do not allow the lea king uid
to come in cont act with eyes, skin, o r clothi ng.
If the uid is a lready in contact wi th the eyes, do
not rub th em. Rinse the eyes w ith clean water
immediately and seek medical advice.
• Keep a leaking bae ry away from re, as there is
a danger of ig nition or explosio n.
• Dispose of your ph one, baery, and acce ssories
accordi ng to local regul ations. Do not di spose
of them in normal household waste. Improper
dispos al may lead to re, explos ion, and/or other
hazards.
• Keep the baery aw ay from chil dren.
Hearing protection
Prolonged exposure to loud sounds (including
music) can c ause hearing l oss. To prevent possi ble
hearin g damage, lower the e arphone or head set
volume to a safe a nd comfoable leve l, and avoid
listening at high volume for prolonged periods
of time.
Child safety
Your phone con tains (or comes with) sma ll pas,

(1.0 cm) from your b ody. Pixel XL complies wit h
radio freq uency specic ations when used ne ar

your body. Ens ure that the device acc essories,
such as a devi ce case and device ho lster, are
not composed of metal components. Keep the
device away f rom your body to mee t the distance

Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC)
Pixel and Pi xel XL have been evaluate d and
ceie d to be compatible wit h heari ng aids per
technic al specicatio n ANSI C63.19.
There are t wo measures of hea ring aid
compatibility:
• M rating, which is a mea sure of immunity to radi o
frequen cy inteerence for ac oustic couplin g
hearing aids;
• T rating, which is a mea sure of peormanc e
when used with an inductive coupling (telecoil)
hearing aid.
Pixel is rated M4/ T4, and Pixel XL i s rated M4/T4,
according to the FCC hearing aid compatibility
regulations for wireless devices.
Per FCC rules , a mobil e phone is consider ed hearing aid co mpatible if rated M 3 or M4 for acoustic
coupling or T3 or T4 for inductive coupling.
These ph ones have been tes ted and rated for
use with hearing aids for some of the wireless
techno logies that they use . However, there may b e
some newer wireless technologies used in these
phones t hat have not yet been te sted for use with
hearin g aids. It is impoan t to try th e dieren t
features of you r phone thorough ly and in dierent
locati ons, using your hea ring aid or cochlea r
implan t, to determine if you hea r any intee ring
noise. Co nsult your ser vice provider or G oogle

Limited warranty
Google warrants that a new Phone (including
any ancil lary pas that may be p ackaged with
it) will be f ree from defects in ma terials and
workmanship under normal use in accordance
with Google’s published user documentation for
one year fro m the date of origin al retail purchas e
in its orig inal packagi ng by you. If a Phone ha s
been refur bished, Goog le warrants that the Ph one
(inclu ding any ancillar y pas that may be pack-
aged wit h it) will be free from de fects in material s

authorized resellers. This Limited Warranty only
applies to hardware components (and not any
sowa re eleme nts) of the Phone, and thi s Limited
Warrant y does not apply to d amage cause d by
normal we ar and tear, accidents, m isuse (includi ng
failure to fol low product docu mentation), negle ct,
disass embly, alterations , servicing oth er than
by Google a uthorized techni cians, and exter nal
causes s uch as, but not limited to, wa ter damage,
anoma lies in the elect rical current su pplied to the
device, an d extreme therma l or environmental
conditions. This Limited Warranty does not guarantee tha t use of the Phone wi ll be uninterrup ted
or error fre e.
EXCLUSI VE REMEDY: If a defect a rises and you
return your Phone during the Limited Warranty
period (w hich is one year for ne w devices and
ninety d ays for refurbished dev ices), Google will
in its sole di scretion and to the exte nt permied
by law eithe r repair your Phon e using new or re-
furbish ed pas, replac e your Phone with a new or
refurbished Phone functionally at least equivalent
to yours, or ac cept the return of the Pho ne in
exchang e for a refund of th e purchase price you
paid for th e Phone. If Goog le repairs or repl aces
the Phon e, the repaired or repl aced Phone will
continu e to be warranted for t he remaining tim e
of the origi nal warranty per iod. All returne d pas
for which yo u have received a repl acement will
become t he propey of Goog le. Nothing in this
Limited War ranty will reduce o r other wise aect
your statutory rights in relation to the Phone.
