HP ProCurve 2520 Switch Series
Overview
The new HP ProCurve 2520 Switch Series enables small and midsize businesses (SMBs)
to reduce costs and improve productivity by rapidly deploying voice, video and wireless
solutions. By integrating multiple network technologies, HP provides SMBs with the
flexibility to quickly respond to changing business needs, and the ability to thrive in a
challenging economy.
The ProCurve 2520 series delivers investment protection that enables SMBs to upgrade
their networks as needed to accommodate business growth. By supporting standardsbased interoperability customers can easily add ProCurve 2520 switches to existing
multi-vendor IT environments to preserve network investments.
The ProCurve 2520 series addresses the specific needs of SMBs who should focus more
on growing the business and less on technology. To simplify setup, deployment and
management, the 2520 series includes a Web interface, as well as deployment flexibility
with a choice of either Fast Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet
(1)
connectivity.
The 2520 switches also reduce power consumption through variable speed fans on the
24-port models and a fanless design on the eight-port models. To further reduce energy
consumption, the 2520 switches offer automatic settings that place ports and LEDs in low
power mode when not in use.
Customers can easily connect IP phones directly to the 2520 series switches with support
of Power Over Ethernet (PoE), which eliminates the need for an additional power supply.
Customers can also deploy wireless access points and video surveillance cameras
anywhere, even in areas where a power outlet is not readily available, by connecting
these devices directly to the 2520 switches.
Additional customer benefits and features of the 2520 switches include:
Increased network security through automatic protection against denial-of-service
attacks. For enhanced physical theft protection and flexibility, the switch can be used
with a Kensington lock, allowing them to be placed in any location.
Enhanced call quality over the network with traffic prioritization features that deliver
reliable Voice over IP.
The 2520 switch is backed by the ProCurve Lifetime Warranty
(2),
which enables
customers to better manage their overall networking expenses by providing value and
choice for their business applications.
