Electric Shock Hazards

Power inverter produces powerful voltage that can cause death or
great physical harm.

• NEVER operate in rain or snow, set on wet surfaces, immerse in liquid,
or use in marine applications.

• NEVER touch bare wires or receptacles.

• NEVER use electrical cords that are worn, frayed, bare, or otherwise
damaged.

• NEVER use power inverter for any purpose other than its intended use.

• NEVER place the power inverter near the vehicle’s heat vent or in direct
sunlight as this prevents proper cooling.

• NEVER use the power inverter if it is damaged; replace immediately.

• NEVER open the power inverter. There are no user-serviceable parts
inside.

• NEVER connect to AC distribution wiring or to any areas marked “Igni­tion Protected”. This power inverter is NOT approved for ignition pro­tected areas such as marine applications.

• NEVER insert foreign objects into the AC or USB outlets.

• ALWAYS disconnect the power inverter AND appliances from the power
supply when not in use and before servicing.

• The inverter produces the same potentially lethal AC power as a house­hold outlet. It is suggested that it be treated as such.

• Store indoors in a dry location out of reach of children.

• Some appliances are not recommended for use with this power inverter.
See “Appliance Wattage Information” on page 11 for further details.

• Use only UL-listed, three-prong extension cords intended for outdoor use
when connecting appliances to the power inverter outdoors. Use the
proper size (wire-gauge) extension cord to handle the electric load that
will be plugged into it.

Fire and Burn Hazards

NEVER operate near flammable materials, fumes, or gases.

• NEVER expose to extreme heat or flames.

• ALWAYS install the power inverter in a location not likely to come into
contact with skin as the surface may become hot.

• NEVER operate the power inverter near fumes or gases (such as the
cabin of a gasoline power boat or near propane tanks) or in an enclosed
area that contains lead-acid batteries for automotive use. This type of
battery emits explosive hydrogen gas which can be ignited by sparks.

• DO NOT replace any vehicle fuse with a rating higher than recom­mended by the vehicle manufacturer. This product is rated to draw 10
amperes from a 12VDC accessory outlet. Ensure that the electrical sys­tem in your vehicle can supply this product without causing the vehicle
fusing to open. This can be determined by making sure the fuse in the
vehicle which protects the outlet is rated higher than 10 amperes. Infor­mation on the vehicle fuse ratings are typically found in the vehicle oper­ator’s manual. If a vehicle fuse opens repeatedly, do not keep on
replacing it. The cause of the overload must be found. On no account
should fuses be patched up with tin foil or wire as this may cause serious
damage elsewhere in the electrical circuit or cause fire.

• Connect the power inverter to batteries with a normal output of 12VDC
only; Do not use with 6V or 24V systems.

• NEVER use with positive ground electrical systems. Reverse polarity
connections will result in a blown fuse and may cause permanent dam­age to the inverter and void the product warranty. (Most modern automo­biles, RVs, and trucks are negative ground systems.)

• NEVER operate the power inverter in areas with high levels of dirt, dust,
or debris.

• Follow ALL manufacturer instructions: power inverter instructions, bat­tery manufacturer instructions, and the manufacturer of any equipment
intended for use with this power inverter.

WARNING

• NEVER connect or set up the power inverter or appliances while operat­ing a vehicle. Not paying attention to the road may result in a serious
accident.

• NEVER plug the power inverter into a location that interferes with the
vehicle controls (i.e. near the gear shift lever).

• ALWAYS use the power inverter where there is adequate ventilation.
NEVER block ventilation slots. NEVER install in an engine compartment
or in any enclosed area in the vehicle that does not allow air circulation.

• NEVER place materials that could be damaged by heat near the power
inverter during use.

• ALWAYS make all DC connections before making AC connections.

• NEVER service an AC appliance without first disconnecting from the
power inverter.

• NEVER connect the power inverter to live AC power circuits.

• Some chargers for small nickel-cadmium batteries can be damaged if
connected to the power inverter. Do not use the power inverter on the
following items:

- Small battery-operated appliances such as flashlights, razors, and
nightlights. Charge these items using a standard household outlet.

- Certain battery chargers for battery packs used in hand power tools.
These chargers will have a warning label indicating that dangerous volt­ages are present at the battery terminals.

Unpacking Guidelines

1. Inspect for damage.
Carefully inspect the product for any damage that may have occurred
during shipment. If loss or damage is noted, return the product to the
retailer.

2. Register product information at www.honeywellpowerinverters.com to
ensure the product is covered by warranty.

Features

Short-Circuit Protection

The power inverter will shut down if a short circuit occurs.

Overload Protection

The power inverter will shut down if an overload situation occurs.

Thermal Shut-down Protection

The power inverter will shut down due to insufficient ventilation or a high­temperature environment.

Low Voltage Shut-down

The power inverter will shut down if the power source voltage drops below

10.5 + 0.3 volts to avoid damaging the power source.

High Voltage Shut-down

The power inverter will shut down if the power source voltage exceeds

15.5 + 0.5 volts to avoid damaging the power inverter.

Components

A - Cooling Fan
Protects the inverter from over-heating.

B - LED Indicator
Illuminates green when DC power input is present. Illuminates red when the
power inverter has a fault.

C - Ventilation Openings
Draws air flow through the power inverter to the cooling fan to prevent over­heating.

D - USB Port
Provides 5-volt power to run equipment with USB power cords.

E - AC Outlet
Provides up to a total of 100 watts of power to run equipment with AC power
cords.

F - DC Accessory Plug
Plugs into a vehicle’s accessory outlet and is adjustable.

G - Circuit Protection Fuse
Replace the 12 amp fuse by gently unscrewing the tip of the accessory plug.

Care and Maintenance

The power inverter should be kept in areas that are:

• Dry - Do not allow water or other liquids to come in contact with the power
inverter.

• Ambient - Temperature should be between 32° and 104° F (0° - 40° C).

• Ventilated - During operation leave at least a 2” clearance around the
power inverter for air flow and ensure the ventilation openings are not
obstructed.

• Clean - Avoid environments with high levels of dirt, dust, or debris.

• Secure - Keep the power inverter in a location where it will not be
dropped, exposed to direct sunlight or heating units, or placed in areas
of high humidity or dampness. Keep out of reach of children.

Operating Time

Operating time varies depending on the battery charging level, capacity, and
power level drawn by the AC load.

With the vehicle running, the inverter can operate indefinitely.

With the vehicle not running, it may be necessary to start the vehicle periodi­cally to recharge the battery.

Most vehicle batteries are designed to provide short periods of high current
for starting the engine. Constantly operating the power inverter from the vehi­cle battery until the low-voltage shut-off occurs will affect battery life. If appli­ances need to be powered for long periods of time, consider using a separate
deep cycle battery.

• ALWAYS verify actual wattage requirements for appliances by checking
appliance label, operating manuals, or contacting the manufacturer.

• Appliances with electric motors require additional power when starting.

Before using the power inverter, take time to check the power rating of the
appliance and verify the wattage does not exceed the power inverter output.
Power rating information can usually be found on an appliance’s product
label, stamped inside, or on the back of the appliance.

If the appliance power consumption is rated in amps AC, simply multiply by
the AC volts (115) to determine the wattage.

Appliances with electric motors require additional power when starting.

High-wattage appliances or equipment that produces heat, such as hair dry­ers, microwave ovens, and toasters cannot be operated by this power inverter.

Consumer Use Warranty -- Product is Not for Commercial Use

LIMITED WARRANTY

Northshore Power Systems, LLC, will repair or replace, free of charge, to the
original retail customer, in North America, any parts of the Power Inverter
found by Northshore Power Systems to be defective in material or workman­ship. This limited warranty covers the cost of the replacement parts and labor
for defects. Transportation charges are the responsibility of the customer. This
limited warranty has time period conditions, operating conditions and dis­claimers, limitations of remedies & exclusions as stated below. For warranty
service, customer should visit www.honeywellpowerinverters.com or call 1­888-HWHELP1 (494-3571).

LIMITED WARRANTY PERIOD

2 Years Limited for Consumer Personal Use Only
NO WARRANTY FOR COMMERCIAL OR RENTAL USE

COMMENCEMENT AND DEFINITIONS. The limited warranty period begins
on the date of retail purchase by the original purchaser. The limited warranty
is not transferable. "Consumer use" is personal use by a retail customer.
"Commercial use" or "rental use" is any usage for income producing, business
related use.

NO EXTENSION OF WARRANTY. Repair or replacement pursuant to this
limited warranty shall not renew or extend the original warranty period, and
any repaired product shall be warranted for the remaining original warranty
period only.

WARRANTY CLAIM PROCEDURE

A Power Inverter believed to be defective may be returned to retailer where it
was purchased within that retailer's return or exchange period. Please refer to
the retailer's return and/or exchange policies to determine that period. Proof

of purchase may be required. Please check with retailer for their specific
return policy regarding returns that are beyond their standard return and/or
exchange period.
If the Power Inverter fails after the retailer's return or exchange period, but
less than two years from the date of purchase, Northshore Power Systems
will repair or replace it, at its sole discretion. Proof of purchase may be
required. If the Power Inverter is repaired, new or reconditioned replacement
parts, or a comparable equivalent product, may be used, at Northshore Power
Systems's sole discretion. The repaired or replaced product will then be sub­ject to the remainder of the Power Inverter's limited warranty period.

DISCLAIMERS, LIMITATIONS OF REMEDIES & EXCLUSIONS

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other
rights which vary from state to state.

DISCLAIMER OF OTHER WARRANTIES. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT
PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS EXCLU­SIVE AND EXPRESSLY IN LIEU OF ANY AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES,
INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF
MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR
ANY OTHER IMPLIED WARRANTIES THAT MAY ARISE FROM A COURSE
OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE. NORTHSHORE POWER SYSTEMS
HEREBY DISCLAIMS AND EXCLUDES ALL OTHER WARRANTIES. To the
extent that Northshore Power Systems's products are consumer products
under applicable federal or state law with respect to any customer, the dura­tion of any implied warranties (including, but not limited to, implied warranties
of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose) are limited to the short­est duration permitted by applicable law or the limited warranty period pro­vided herein, whichever is longer.
LIMITATIONS OF REMEDIES. NORTHSHORE POWER SYSTEMS SHALL
NOT BE LIABLE TO CUSTOMER, OR TO ANYONE CLAIMING UNDER
CUSTOMER, FOR ANY OTHER OBLIGATIONS OR LIABILITIES, INCLUD­ING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, OBLIGATIONS OR LIABILITIES ARISING OUT
OF BREACH OF CONTRACT OR WARRANTY, NEGLIGENCE OR OTHER

ANY EVENT, BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL, COMPENSATORY, PUNITIVE,
CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT, SPECIAL OR OTHER DAMAGES, INCLUD­ING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF USE, LOSS OF INCOME, LOSS OF
TIME, LOSS OF SALES, INJURY TO PERSONAL PROPERTY, OR LIABIL­ITY CUSTOMER INCURS WITH RESPECT TO ANY OTHER PERSON, OR
ANY OTHER TYPE OR FORM OF CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGE OR ECO­NOMIC LOSS.

EXCLUSIONS. In addition to the foregoing limitations and the terms above,
the following is a non-exhaustive list of exclusions to the limited warranty, to
be determined at Northshore Power Systems's sole discretion:

1. Misuse, neglect, abuse, overload, improper connection to electrical appli­ances are not covered by this limited warranty.

2. Lack of proper care will negate coverage under the limited warranty.

3. This equipment is not warranted for shipping or handling defects or dam­age. A separate remedy is available for this; see your retailer.

4. Any alteration or modification of the product voids the limited warranty.

5. Use of unauthorized parts or repair by an unauthorized agent voids the
limited warranty.

6. Accessories included with the product, or purchased separately for the
product, are not covered by this limited warranty.

7. Removal or altering of manufacturer's serial label voids the limited war­ranty.

8. Normal wear and tear is not covered by this limited warranty.

9. Use of equipment as primary power source in place of utility power voids
the limited warranty.

10. Normal maintenance and wear items are not covered by the limited war­ranty.

11. Failures due to acts of God, war, other force majeur beyond Northshore
Power Systems's control are not covered by the limited warranty.

Peligros de descarga eléctrica

El inversor de corriente produce un voltaje potente que puede causar

Peligros de incendio y quemadura

NUNCA ponga a funcionar su equipo cerca de materiales,
vapores o grases inflamables.

• NUNCA lo exponga a calor excesivo o flamas.

• SIEMPRE instale el inversor de corriente en una ubicación que tenga
pocas probabilidades de entrar en contacto con la piel ya que la superfi­cie puede calentarse.

• NUNCA ponga a funcionar el inversor de corriente cerca de vapores o
gases (como de la cabina de una lancha con motor de gasolina o cerca
de tanques de gas propano) o en un área cerrada que contenga bat­erías de plomo para uso automotriz. Este tipo de batería emite gas
hidrógeno explosivo que puede encenderse con alguna chispa.

• NO sustituya ningún fusible del vehículo con carga superior a la reco­mendada por el fabricante del vehículo. Este producto tiene capacidad
para un obtener 10 amperios de un tomacorriente complementario de
12 V CC. Compruebe que el sistema eléctrico de su vehículo pueda
suministrar esta carga sin causar que se abran los fusibles del vehículo.
Puede determinar esto asegurándose de que el fusible del vehículo que
protege el tomacorriente tenga amperaje nominal superior a
10 amperios. La información sobre el amperaje de los fusibles del

• Conecte el inversor de corriente solamente a baterías con una salida
normal de 12 V CC; no lo use con sistemas de 6 V o 24 V.

• NUNCA lo use con sistemas eléctricos con carga a tierra positiva. Las
conexiones con polaridad invertida provocarán que se funda el fusible y
pueden causar daños permanentes al inversor e invalidar la garantía del
producto. (La mayoría de los automóviles modernos, los vehículos rec­reativos y los camiones tienen sistemas de conexión a tierra negativa).

• NUNCA ponga a funcionar el inversor de corriente en áreas con niveles
elevados de suciedad, polvo o desechos.

• Siga TODAS las instrucciones del fabricante: instrucciones del inversor de cor­riente, instrucciones del fabricante de las baterías e instrucciones del fabri­cante de cualquier equipo que pretenda usar con este inversor de corriente.

dañados si se conectan al inversor de corriente. No utilice el inversor de

- Artefactos pequeños de baterías como lámparas de mano, rasurado­ras y lamparitas de noche. Para cargar estos dispositivos use un toma­corriente doméstico estándar.

Cuidado y mantenimiento

El inversor de corriente se deberá mantener en áreas bajo las siguientes
condiciones:

• Secas - No permita que el agua u otros líquidos entren en contacto con
el inversor de corriente.

• Ambiente - La temperatura debe estar entre 32° y 104° F (0° - 40° C).

• Ventiladas - Durante su operación, deje un espacio de cuando menos 2"
alrededor del inversor de corriente para permitir el flujo de aire y cercio­rarse que no estén obstruidas las aberturas de ventilación.

• Limpias - Evite los ambientes con niveles elevados de suciedad, polvo o
desechos.

• Seguras - Mantenga su inversor de corriente en una ubicación donde no
pueda caerse, sin exponerlo a la luz solar directa o unidades de calefac­ción ni colocarlo en áreas con mucha humedad.

Tiempo de operación

El tiempo de operación varía dependiendo del nivel de carga de la batería, su
capacidad y el nivel de energía que consume la carga de CA.

Con el vehículo en marcha, el inversor puede funcionar por tiempo indefinido.

Con el vehículo apagado, es posible que sea necesario arrancar el vehículo
periódicamente para recargar la batería.

La mayoría de las baterías de los vehículos están diseñadas para proporcio­nar periodos cortos de corriente alta para arrancar el motor. Si se usa con­stantemente el inversor de corriente de la batería del vehículo hasta que se
apaga por voltaje bajo, esto afectará la vida de la batería. Si se necesitan ali­mentar artefactos durante periodos prolongados, considere usar una batería
separada de ciclo profundo.

distribuidor minorista donde se compró dentro del periodo de devolución o cambio
de dicho distribuidor. Por favor consulte las políticas de cambios y/o devoluciones
del distribuidor para determinar dicho periodo. Es posible que se requiera prueba
de compra. Consulte con el distribuidor su política específica de devoluciones
para las devoluciones que estén más allá de su periodo estándar de devolución y/
o cambio.
Si el inversor de corriente falla después del periodo de devolución o cambio del
distribuidor, pero antes de dos años a partir de la fecha de compra, Northshore
Power Systems lo reparará o reemplazará, a su entera discreción. Es posible que
se requiera prueba de compra. En caso de reparación del inversor de corriente,
Northshore Power Systems podrá usar piezas de repuesto nuevas o
reacondicionadas, o un producto equivalente comparable, a su entera discreción.
El producto reparado o remplazado quedará sujeto entonces al periodo restante
de la garantía limitada del inversor de corriente.

EXENCIONES, LIMITACIONES DE RECURSOS Y EXCLUSIONES

POR CUALQUIER OTRA OBLIGACIÓN O RESPONSABILIDAD, INCLUSO,
PERO SIN LIMITARSE A ELLO, OBLIGACIONES O RESPONSABILIDADES
DERIVADAS DE UN INCUMPLIMIENTO DE CONTRATO O GARANTÍA,
NEGLIGENCIA U OTRO AGRAVIO O CUALQUIER TEORÍA DE RESPONS­ABILIDAD CIVIL ESTRICTA, CON RESPECTO AL INVERSOR DE CORRI­ENTE O LAS ACCIONES U OMISIONES DE NORTHSHORE POWER
SYSTEMS U OTRO. EN EL MÁXIMO GRADO PERMITIDO POR LA LEY
PERTINENTE, EN NINGÚN CASO NORTHSHORE POWER SYSTEMS
SERÁ RESPONSABLE DE DAÑOS INCIDENTALES, COMPENSATORIOS,
PUNITIVOS, CONSECUENTES, INDIRECTOS, ESPECIALES O DE OTRO
TIPO, INCLUSO, PERO SIN LIMITARSE A ELLO, PÉRDIDA DE USO, PÉR­DIDA DE INGRESOS, PÉRDIDA DE TIEMPO, PÉRDIDA DE VENTAS,
DAÑO A PROPIEDAD PERSONAL O RESPONSABILIDAD CIVIL EN QUE
INCURRA EL CLIENTE RESPECTO DE CUALQUIER OTRA PERSONA O
CUALQUIER OTRO TIPO O FORMA DE DAÑO CONSECUENTE O PÉRDI­DA ECONÓMICA.

EXCLUSIONES. Además de las limitaciones anteriores y de los términos que
anteceden, la siguiente es una lista no exhaustiva de las exclusiones a la
garantía limitada, que serán determinadas a entera discreción de Northshore
Power Systems:

1. El uso indebido, la negligencia, el abuso, la sobrecarga y la conexión
indebida a artefactos eléctricos no están cubiertos por esta garantía limitada.

2. La falta de cuidado adecuado invalidará la cobertura de esta garantía
limitada.

3. Este equipo no está garantizado contra defectos o daños de embarque o
manejo. Hay disponible un recurso independiente para esto; consulte a
su distribuidor.

4. Cualquier alteración o modificación del producto invalida la garantía limitada.

5. El uso de piezas o reparaciones no autorizadas por un agente no autorizado
anula la garantía limitada.

6. Los accesorios incluidos con el producto, o que se compran por separado del
producto, no están cubiertos por esta garantía limitada.

7. El retiro o alteración de la etiqueta de serie del fabricante anula la garantía
limitada.

8. El desgaste y roturas normales no están cubiertos por esta garantía limitada.

9. El uso del equipo como fuente principal de suministro de energía en vez de
usar los servicios públicos invalida la garantía limitada.

10. El mantenimiento normal y las piezas de desgaste no están cubiertos por
esta garantía limitada.

11. Las fallas por hechos fortuitos, guerra u otras causas de fuerza mayor más
allá del control de Northshore Power Systems no están cubiertas por la
garantía limitada.
