BACKLIGHT
Backlight Compensation (BLC) prevents subjects in defined areas of the scene from
appearing too dark when backlighting is present. Highlight Masking Exposure (HME)
masks bright areas of the scene to allow objects to appear clearly.
BACKLIGHT is set to OFF by default. To enable this feature, select BLC or HME.
If BLC is selected:
1.Set LEVEL to LOW, MIDDLE, or HIGH.
2.Set DISPLAY to ON or OFF to show or hide
the BLC mask.
3.If DISPLAY is set to ON, adjust the values
for TOP, BOTTOM, LEFT, and RIGHT to
set the size and position of the BLC mask.
4.Set RET/INI. to RETURN or INITIAL.
•Select RETURN to g o b ack to the main
menu.
•Select INITIAL to reset the settings to
the factory defaults.
If HME is selected:

3.Set MODE to ONLY DAY or ALL DAY.
•If ONLY DAY is selected, WDR or DEFOG is enabled during the day only.
•If ALL DAY is selected, WDR or DEFOG is enabled during daytime and
nighttime.
AGC
Auto Gain Control (AGC) enhances the picture brightness in low-light conditions, but also
increases picture noise.
Set AGC (0–20).

SENSE-UP
Note The SENSE-UP menu cannot be controlled if the SHUTTER setting is
above 1/60.
Sense-Up automatically activates slow shutter function when a scene is too dark.
Set SENSE-UP to OFF or to a value from×2 to ×512. Selecting a value over ×4 is not
recommended as it may cause the image to lag.
3D DNR
3D Digital Noise Reduction (3D DNR) improves image clarity in low-light conditions.
Set 3D DNR to OFF, LOW, MID, or HIGH.

1.Set EXT SIGNAL to CDS or LOW/HIGH.
•CDS: Camera switches between day and night mode depending on the CDS
signal level.
•LOW/HIGH: Camera switches between day and night mode depending on the
CDS’s low/high signal.
2.Define the following settings:
•NIGHT S/W: Sets the CDS’s low/high signal.
•CDS D>N: Sets the light level (0–40) at which the camera switches from day to
night mode. The higher the number, the lower the light level.
•CDS N>D: Sets the light level (0–20) at which the camera switches from night to
day mode. This number should be lower than the value for CDS D>N.
3.Set EXT LED to AUTO or OFF. Select OFF to turn off the external IR LEDs.
DELAY
DELAY is the time interval before switching from day mode to night mode. Setting DELAY
avoids unnecessary switching caused by brief changes in lighting conditions.
Set DELAY (0–15 seconds).
B/W BURST
When B/W BURST is enabled, the camera provides a color burst signal when switching to
night mode. Some DVRs require a burst signal to detect a camera.
Set B/W BURST to OFF or ON.
