The HD3CHS Series CCTV Camera is ideal for indoor installations in commercial and residential environments.

Before You Begin

Please read this guide carefully before you install the HD3CHS Series 3 Inch Dome Camera. Keep this guide for future reference.

Unpack Everything

Check that the items received match those listed on the order form and packing slip. The HD3CHS Series 3 Inch Dome Camera packing box should include, in addition to this Install Guide:
One fully assembled camera One hardware kit containing mounting screws
One 2nd video monitor output
cable
Two Honeywell labels
If any parts are missing or damaged, contact the dealer you purchased the camera from or call Honeywell Customer Service.

Cautions and Operating Notes

Power Supply This dome camera can operate on 24 VAC or 12 VDC.
Operating Conditions
Avoid viewing very bright objects (example, light fixtures) for extended periods.
Avoid operating or storing the unit in the following locations:
Extremely humid, dusty, hot/cold environments (where the operating temperature is outside the recommended range of 14°F to 122°F [-10°C to +50°C])
Close to sources of powerful radio or TV transmitters
Close to fluorescent lamps or objects reflecting light
Under unstable light sources (may cause flickering)

1. Gently turn the camera housing (#5 on Figure 2) counter-clockwise to unlock and pull free of the camera base. Note the two line markers.
2. Remove the inner liner (#4) by gently pulling it free of the two notches (#3) in the camera housing (#5). Set the housing, bubble (#6) and liner aside.

Connecting the Wiring

Follow Figure 1 to connect the video output connector (#a) and 24 VAC/12 VDC power connector (#b).
Note For DC power supply use, make sure the polarity is correct to
avoid malfunction and/or camera damage.

Mounting the Camera

1. Place the supplied mounting template (#2 on Figure 3) on the mounting surface and mark the holes.
2. Drill two holes, then insert the screw anchors (#1) into the holes.
3. Remove the camera housing, if you have not already done so.
4. Secure the camera base to the wall or ceiling with the TP4 x 15 mm tapping screws supplied (#3).
Note Depending on the material of your mounting surface, you may
require different screws and anchors than those supplied.

OSD joystick control to navigate through the menus
Press the OSD joystick control straight down:
• for two seconds to enter the Main menu.
• to enter a screen or to select a submenu option. If no settings are made, the menu disappears after a few seconds.
Move the OSD joystick control (#1) UP, DOWN, LEFT, or RIGHT to move to and between menus and options.
Select RETURN END to save all settings and exit the menu. Select RETURN RES to save all settings and return to the previous selection.

Camera Setup Functions

See Figure 4 to locate the camera setup functions described below on the camera board.

The HD3CHS Series mini-dome camera has three axes for positioning the camera. While monitoring the picture on the monitor, adjust the camera position as follows.

Adjusting the Camera
To adjust this axis … Do this …

Setting the Lens and Brightness Level

To select the DC lens function:
1. From the Main menu, select LENS.
2. Move the joystick control LEFT or RIGHT to select DC (Automatic Iris lens).
3. Move the joystick control LEFT or RIGHT to access the BRIGHTNESS control for iris level adjustment. Options are: 1~/ 50 (default) ~ /100).

Optimizing the Lens Setup

The table below explains the options on the EXPOSURE submenu. Each selection takes you to a separate screen (see description below).

Setting the White Balance

The table below explains the options on the WHITE BALANCE submenu.
MAIN MENU WHITE BALANCE
AWB Opens the White Balance submenu where you set
how the camera adjusts to different lighting conditions. Options are:
ATW (Automatic Tracing White Balance) Select this mode when the scene illumination varies between indoor scenes and outdoor scene lighting (for example, when under a fluorescent light, or outdoors).
AWB (Auto White Balance)(default) AWC Automatically adjust the white balance to your specific environment. Select SET to adjust. MANUAL. In Manual mode you can adjust the red and blue settings, from 0 to 100. INDOOR, OUTDOOR

Setting the Day/Night Control

DELAY: The time before the camera switches to Day or Night mode after detecting a switching threshold.
D-->N (Day to Night): The relative light level at which the camera switches to Night mode. The higher the value, the darker the lighting (the lower the lux threshold) must be before the camera switches.
Set D-->N should be set at least 3 less than N-->D.
N-->D (Night to Day): The relative light level at which the camera switches to Day mode. The lower the value, the brighter the lighting (the higher the lux threshold) must be before the camera switches.

Set the Image Sharpness Level
To set the level of sharpness of the image, select MAIN MENU ADJUST. In the ADJUST submenu you can adjust the SHARPNESS, from 0 to 31 (16 is the default).

To restore the factory default settings, select SETUP RESET

Completing the Installation

Attaching and Securing the Dome Cover

To attach the dome cover, follow Figure 7:
1. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe the dome cover clean and remove fingerprints.
2. Attach the inner liner (#4) to the Tilt adjustment thumbnuts (#2). Push the unit down until it clicks into place.
3. Place the dome housing and bubble (#5) on the camera base (#1).
4. Align the line markers on the dome housing with those on the base. Turn the dome housing gently clockwise until it locks in place.
5. Secure the dome cover to the camera base with the TP1.7 screw (#6).

Routine Maintenance

The dome bubble is an optical part. Use a soft, dry cloth to remove any fingerprints or dust.

Accessory Mounting Application

When required, you can use the camera mounting holes (see Figure 8) to fit the camera base easily on a single gang electrical box using the HD3­MK pendant/wall mount kit. For more information, contact Honeywell Technical Support or your sales representative (see back cover for contact information).

Subject to the terms and conditions listed on the Product warranty, during the warranty period Honeywell will repair or replace, at its sole option, free of charge, any defective product returned prepaid.
In the event you have a problem with any Honeywell product, please call Customer Service for assistance or to request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Call 1.800.796.CCTV (North America only).
Be sure to have the model number, serial number, and the nature of the problem available for the technical service representative.
Prior authorization must be obtained for all returns, exchanges, or credits.
Items shipped to Honeywell without a clearly identified Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number may be refused.
