Overview
The HC80, HC81, and HC82 Night Hawk® CCD cameras provide true
24/7 surveillance. These small, discreet cameras take perfectly exposed
pictures no matter what the lighting conditions.
The HC81 and HC82 cameras have built-in, infrared LED illuminators to
improve low light viewing. The HC81 camera has 18 near-infrared light
emitting diodes that provide short-range illumination. The HC82 has 48
near-infrared light emitting diodes for longer-range illumination.

The bullet style, track mount design incorporates a rugged, high impact
aluminum housing that is weather tight. Locking security screws and
concealed wiring ensure they are tamper and vandal resistant. These
cameras are ideally suited for medium security installations, either
indoors or outdoors.
1.Night performance illumination differs between camera models: 40 feet (12
m) for the HC81 and 75 feet (23 m) for the HC82. These ranges are approximate; actual results depend on reflectivity of the scene, weather conditions,
and so on.

Before You Begin
Unpack Everything
Check that the items received match those listed on the order form and
packing slip. The HC80/HC81/HC82 packing box should include, in
addition to this User Guide:
• One fully assembled camera with factory installed video/power
cable
• One hardware kit
If any parts are missing or damaged, contact the dealer you purchased
the camera from or call Honeywell Customer Service.
Equipment Required
• A Phillips screwdriver may help you complete the installation.
• Mounting screws are not supplied. Use mounting screws
appropriate to your particular installation.The holes on the mounting
plate are 3/16 inch in diameter. See “Mounting Templates” on
page 13.
Please read this guide carefully
before you install the HC80, HC81, or
HC82 camera. Keep this guide for
future reference.

Installation
The HC80/HC81/HC82 cameras are designed for installation on a wall,
ceiling, or on top of a pole. They are weather sealed for indoor or
outdoor locations.
Step 1: Connect Video and Power
Follow Figure 1 for the wiring connection.

Step 2: Attach the Camera Base
Flush Mount
Drill a hole equal to the diameter of the camera base into the wall or
ceiling where you are connecting the camera. Run the power and video
connections through the wall to their destinations. Be sure to screw the
camera into something solid on a flat, smooth surface (for example, a
crossbeam).
Flush and Surface Mount
1. Loosen, but do not remove the security (locking) screws on the
lower and upper locking rings (see Figure 2).
2. Loosen the lower and upper locking rings to access the mounting
screw holes. Once the locking ring is loosened you can adjust the
camera position for easier access to the four mounting screw holes.
3. Screw the camera base to the desired position on the wall, ceiling,
or top of pole. Use four screws appropriate to your installation to
mount the camera.
Note Mounting templates are provided for your use. See page 13
for the HC80 and HC81 and page 14 for the HC82.
Make sure the camera is mounted on a flat, smooth surface.
For Surface Mounting only: To ensure a waterproof installation, the
notch in the camera base that the power and video connections exit
through should be facing down. If the power and video connections
exit the top of the base (wall mounted only), water may pool in the
camera base. Apply appropriate sealant around the notches and
any other gaps between the camera base and the mounting surface.
Step 3: Position the Camera
Caution Do not swivel and position the camera without the
bezel firmly in place. Avoid handling the camera
board or lens to position the field of view as this
may damage the camera.
1. Loosen the security screws on the lower and upper locking rings.
2. Loosen the locking rings and move the camera into position. Swivel
the camera to capture the desired field of view. Tighten the locking
rings to set the position.

3. Lock the camera into position using the Allen key supplied to tighten
the locking screws on the locking rings.
Step 4: Adjust the Camera
Note If necessary, adjust the camera after it is mounted firmly in
position. Any new changes to the camera position may
require further adjustment of the zoom and focus.
1. Loosen, but do not remove, the three security (locking) screws on
the bezel with the Allen key supplied (see Figure 2).
One security screw is located under the sunhood. This screw is
accessible through the sunhood by removing the small, black,
rubber plug.
2. Carefully pull the bezel towards you until it is clear of the camera.
Note The bezel and camera fit closely together and separating
them may require using a little force. Be sure to pull the
camera straight out of the bezel. After the camera starts to
slide out, the airtight seal will break and the camera then
slides out easily.
3. Set the bezel and camera down in a place where the tempered glass
window cannot be scratched.

4. Your camera comes set up from the factory. If you need to make
minor adjustments, refer to the procedures below to adjust the
switch settings, focus, and vertical phase (24 VAC).
Caution Honeywell does not recommend changing the dip
switches other than the vertical phase and focus
controls. These dip switches are factory configured
for optimal performance. If further adjustments are
required please feel free to contact Honeywell
Customer Service or authorized service personnel.
Caution During the entire time the bezel is off, ensure that
the camera board, lens, and LEDs are kept intact
and free from dust.
5. Slide the bezel enclosure over the camera and rotate the enclosure
until it slides into place. Tighten the security screws with the Allen
key supplied, to keep the bezel in place.

Adjustment Method
Adjust the Focus and Focal Length
Caution IR LEDs could be warm after prolonged use.
1. If you have not already done so, remove the camera from the bezel
(see “Step 4: Adjust the Camera” on page 5).
2. To adjust the focal length, loosen the top locking screw on the side
of the lens. It is marked: ←
Far Near → (see Figure 3, page 6, or
Figure 5, page 7). Slide the screw to adjust the focal length.

3. To adjust the focus, loosen the bottom locking screw on the side of
the lens. It is marked: ←
Wide Tele → (see Figure 3 or Figure 5).
Slide the screw to adjust the focus.
4. When satisfied with your adjustments:
a. Replace the dessicant pack with the spare dessicant pack
provided in the kit.
b. Retighten both the locking screws and replace the camera
inside the bezel. See “Step 3: Position the Camera” on page 4.

Adjust the Line Lock (Vertical Phase) for 24 VAC
Operation
Phase adjustment may be necessary in multiple camera installations to
prevent picture roll when switching between cameras. To adjust the
vertical phase while switching between two cameras, push down the left
or right switch on one camera until there is no vertical roll (see Figure 3).
Note If the phase cannot be adjusted to prevent picture roll,
reverse the power polarity.
Adjust the Backlight Compensation
The backlight compensation (BLC) adjusts the electronic shutter speed
of the camera based on the light levels in specific areas of the scene.
This adjustment provides better image quality for scenes that are
unevenly lit.
The BLC factory default setting is OFF (see Figure 4).
Precautions
The light emitted from the near-infrared light emitting diodes provides
illumination over a wide area. This light is not considered a risk to the
unshielded human eye. However, as with any light source, it is
recommended that normal precautions be taken to avoid unnecessary
exposure. For example, avoid staring into the beam or viewing directly
with optical instruments at close range.

Honeywell warrants the HC80, HC81, and HC82 against defects in
workmanship and materials for a period of 2 years. During the warranty
period Honeywell will repair or replace, at its sole option, free of charge,
any defective product returned prepaid.
In the event you have a problem with any Honeywell product, please call
Customer Service at 1.800.796.2288 for assistance or to request a
Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.
Be sure to have the model number, serial number, and the nature of the
problem available for the technical service representative.
Prior authorization must be obtained for all returns, exchanges, or
credits. Items shipped to Honeywell without a clearly identified
Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number may be refused.

Présentation
Les caméras CCD HC80, HC81 et HC82 Night Hawk® permettent
d’assurer une vidéosurveillance 24 heures sur 24 et 7 jours sur 7.
Compactes et discrètes, ces caméras enregistrent des images avec une
exposition parfaite, quelles que soient les conditions de luminosité.
Les caméras HC81 et HC82 sont dotées de lampes infrarouges pour une
meilleure visualisation dans l’obscurité. La caméra HC81 dispose de
18 diodes émettant une lumière proche de l’infrarouge pour un éclairage
à courte portée. La caméra HC82 possède, elle, 48 diodes émettant une
lumière proche de l’infrarouge pour un éclairage à plus longue portée.

La conception compacte, avec montage sur rail, comprend un boîtier en
aluminium résistant aussi bien aux impacts qu’aux intempéries.
L’utilisation de vis de blocage et la dissimulation des câbles assurent
une protection contre le vandalisme et les manipulations malveillantes.
Idéales pour les installations à sécurité moyenne, ces caméras
s’installent aussi bien à l’intérieur qu’à l’extérieur.
1.La portée nocturne varie selon les modèles de caméras : 12 m pour la
HC81 et 23 m pour la HC82. Ces chiffres sont approximatifs. La portée réelle
dépend de la réflectivité de la scène, des conditions météorologiques, etc.

Avant de commencer
Vérification du contenu
Vérifiez que les éléments reçus correspondent à la liste indiquée sur le
bon de commande et le bordereau de marchandises. Outre ce Guide de
l’utilisateur, le colis de la caméra HC80/HC81/HC82 doit contenir les
éléments suivants :
• une caméra totalement assemblée avec câble d’alimentation/vidéo
installé en usine,
• un kit de matériel.
Si des pièces sont manquantes ou endommagées, contactez le vendeur
auprès duquel vous avez acheté la caméra ou appelez le service clients
de Honeywell.
Matériel requis
• Un tournevis cruciforme vous sera utile pour effectuer l’installation.
• Les vis de montage ne sont pas fournies. Utilisez des vis de
montage appropriées à votre installation. Les trous présents sur la
plage de montage ont un diamètre approximatif de 0,48 cm.

Installation
Les caméras HC80/HC81/HC82 sont conçues pour être installées sur un
mur, au plafond ou au sommet d’un poteau. Elles résistent aux
intempéries et s’utilisent aussi bien à l’extérieur qu’à l’intérieur.
Etape 1 : Connecter la vidéo et l’alimentation
Connectez les câbles comme indiqué sur la Figure 1.

Etape 2 : Fixer la base de la caméra
Montage encastré
Percez un trou d’un diamètre égal à celui de la base de la caméra dans
le mur ou le plafond, à l’endroit où vous allez brancher la caméra.
Faites courir les câbles vidéo et d’alimentation à travers le mur jusqu’à
l’emplacement de la caméra. Veillez à visser la caméra à un support
solide sur une surface plane (par exemple, une traverse).

Montage encastré en surface
1. Sans les enlever, desserrez les vis de blocage sur les bagues de
blocage supérieure et inférieure (voir la Figure 2).
2. Desserrez les bagues de blocage supérieure ou inférieure pour
accéder aux trous des vis de montage. Une fois la bague de
blocage desserrée, vous pouvez ajuster la position de la caméra
pour accéder plus facilement aux quatre trous des vis de montage.
3. Vissez la base de la caméra dans la position souhaitée sur le mur,
au plafond ou au sommet d’un poteau. Utilisez quatre vis
appropriée à votre installation pour monter la caméra.
Remarque Pour ce faire, aidez-vous des gabarits de montage four-
nis. Reportez-vous à la page 13 pour les caméras HC80
et HC81, et à la page 14 pour la caméra HC82.
Vérifiez que la caméra est montée sur une surface plane.
Pour les montages en surface uniquement : Pour des raisons
d’étanchéité, l’encoche située sur la base de la caméra et par
laquelle les câbles vidéo et d’alimentation sortent, doit être orientée
vers le bas. Si les câbles vidéo et d’alimentation sortent par le haut
de la base (montage mural uniquement), il est possible que de l’eau
s’introduise dans la base de la caméra. Dans ce cas, appliquez un
joint d’étanchéité autour de l’encoche et sur toutes les ouvertures
entre la base de la caméra et la surface de montage.
Etape 3 : Positionner la caméra
Attention N’orientez pas et ne positionnez pas la caméra si la
lunette d’encadrement n’est pas fermement fixée. Evitez
de régler l’angle de vue en manipulant l’électronique ou
l’objectif de la caméra. Vous risqueriez d’endommager la
caméra.
1. Desserrez les vis de blocage sur les bagues de blocage supérieure
et inférieure.
2. Desserrez les bagues de blocage et placez la caméra dans la
position souhaitée. Orientez la caméra selon l’angle désiré. Serrez
les bagues de blocage pour fixer la position.
3. À l’aide de la clé Allen fournie, serrez les vis de blocage sur les
bagues de blocage pour verrouiller la position de la caméra.

Etape 4 : Ajuster la caméra
Remarque Si nécessaire, ajustez la caméra après l’avoir position-
née. Toute modification apportée à la position de la
caméra peut impliquer un ajustement du zoom et de la
mise au point.
1. Sans les enlever, desserrez les trois vis de blocage sur la lunette
d’encadrement à l’aide de la clé Allen fournie (voir la Figure 2).
Une vis de blocage se trouve sous le pare-soleil. Elle est accessible
à travers le pare-soleil en retirant la petite partie noire en
caoutchouc.
2. Tirez doucement la lunette d’encadrement vers vous jusqu’à la
séparer de la caméra.
Remarque La lunette d’encadrement et la caméra sont imbriquées
l’une dans l’autre et les séparer requiert un peu de force.
Veillez à tirer la caméra dans l’axe de la lunette. Lorsque
la caméra commence à sortir, le joint d’étanchéité à l’air
se rompt et la caméra sort plus facilement.
3. Placez la lunette et la caméra à un endroit où le verre trempé ne
risque pas d’être rayé.

4. La caméra est livrée avec la configuration d’usine. Si vous devez
effectuer certains ajustements, reportez-vous aux procédures
ci-dessous pour régler les commutateurs, la mise au point et la
phase verticale (24 V CA).
