WORK AREA
Keep your work area clean and well lit. 1. Cluttered benches and dark areas invite
accidents.
Do not operate R/C Electric Racing Boat in explosive atmospheres, such as 2.
in the presence of ammable liquids, gases, or dust. Radio Control electronics
may create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
Keep bystanders and visitors away while operating. 3. Distractions can cause
you to lose control. Protect others in the area from rapidly spinning propellers.
Provide barriers or shields as needed.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
Grounded tools must be plugged into an outlet properly installed and 1.
grounded in accordance with all codes and ordinances. Never remove the
If two Boats with the same radio frequency are used (both with the same 4.
numbers on the Transmitter and/or Receiver), they must be at least 1640’
away from one another in order to maintain adequate transmission control.
Before using in the water perform a distance check to be certain that you can 5.
maintain radio control at least 25’ from Transmitter to Boat with the Antenna
collapsed.
NEVER run R/C Electric Racing Boat in swimming pools or bodies of water 6.
where people are swimming or playing.
NEVER recharge non-rechargeable batteries. 7.
Use only batteries of the type recommended. 8. Do not mix old and new batteries.
Remove batteries from both the R/C Electric Racing Boat and the Transmitter 9.
if they will not be used for a long period.
People with pacemakers should consult their physician before using this 10.
product. Electromagnetic elds in close proximity to a heart pacemaker could
cause interference to or failure of the pacemaker. In addition, people with pace-
makers should adhere to the following:
Avoid operating this R/C Electric Racing Boat alone.•
Don’t use this product with the power switch locked on.•
If powered via a power cord be certain that the tool is properly grounded. A •
ground fault interrupt (GFCI) system is also a good precaution. This inexpensive device is a good safety measure because it prevents a sustained electrical
shock.
Properly maintain and inspect all tools before use to avoid electrical shock.•
Never pick up, or lay down the R/C Electric Racing Boat until its Propellers 11.
come to a complete stop. Moving parts can grab the surface and pull the R/C
Electric Racing Boat out of your control and there is the possibility of damage, or
personal injury. When handling this Racing Boat, be sure to keep hands clear of
propellers at all times.
This product is for supervised use by ages 6 and up. 12. Children must be prop-
erly trained in safety issues and operating procedures before being allowed to use
this product and must always be supervised by a responsible adult.
Never leave the R/C Electric Racing Boat unattended when it is plugged into 13.
its charger. Turn off the R/C Electronic Racing Boat and unplug it from its electri-
cal outlet before leaving. WARNING: Always remove the Battery Pack (16) from
the Battery Compartment when it is being charged.
Always wear work gloves if removing the Propellers (4A and/or 4B). 14. The
blades can be very sharp. If the R/C Electric Racing Boat has been recently used,
let the Twin 380 Motors (8A and 8B) as well as both Drive Shafts (6B and 6C) cool
at least 15 minutes before touching.
Do not recharge the Battery Pack (16) if it is hot.15.
GROUNDING
WARNING!
Improperly connecting the grounding wire can result in the risk of electric shock.
Check with a qualied electrician if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is
properly grounded. Do not modify the power cord plug provided with the tool.
Never remove the grounding prong from the plug. Do not use the tool if the
power cord or plug is damaged. If damaged, have it repaired by a service facil-
ity before use. If the plug will not t the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by
a qualied electrician.
GROUNDED TOOLS: TOOLS WITH THREE PRONG PLUGS
Tools marked with “Grounding Required” have a three wire cord and three prong 1.
grounding plug. The plug must be connected to a properly grounded outlet. If
the tool should electrically malfunction or break down, grounding provides a low
resistance path to carry electricity away from the user, reducing the risk of electric
shock. (See 3-Prong Plug and Outlet.)
The grounding prong in the plug is connected through the green wire inside the 2.
cord to the grounding system in the tool. The green wire in the cord must be the
only wire connected to the tool’s grounding system and must never be attached to
an electrically “live” terminal. (See 3-Prong Plug and Outlet.)
Your tool must be plugged into an appropriate outlet, properly installed and ground-3.
ed in accordance with all codes and ordinances. The plug and outlet should look
like those in the following illustration. (See 3-Prong Plug and Outlet.)
