Heating up in seconds, the GS-30 is ready when you are – for fast touch-ups of your favorite blouses, shirts and suits, without the hassle of an iron or the fear of scorching. A built-in hanger and a full array of accessories including a crease tool, a hand-held pressing board, plus lint, fur and fabric brushes ensures perfectly steamed clothes and fabrics that have that “fresh from the dry cleaner” look without the expense.

IMPORTANT

Be sure to read ALL instructions and warnings before using your HAAN Floor Sanitizer.

WARNING

Risk of electrical shock be sure to read and follow all instructions and warnings.

CAUTION

The GS-30 emits steam at 212˚F to sanitize the area of use. This means the unit’s attachment system and all the accessories get very hot during use. Care should be taken when using this appliance and DO NOT touch them during use except in the approved manner. Exercise care when changing accessories and follow removal/changing instructions as outlined in this manual.

When using your garment steamer, basic safety precautions should always be observed, including the following:

WARNING – To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or injury:

1. DO NOT leave the product unattended with the power turned on. Unplug the unit from outlet when not in use and before conducting any maintenance or troubleshooting.

2. When not in use, the product’s power cord should be unplugged.

3. DO NOT service the Garment Steamer when it is plugged in.

4. DO NOT use with a damaged cord or plug. DO NOT use the Garment Steamer if it has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors or dropped into water. Return to a service center.

5. Store the product in a place that is out of the reach of small children. Close attention is necessary when used near children.

6. Do not use for any purpose other than described in this User Manual. Use the product only for its intended use and only as described in this manual. Use only authentic product parts and accessories.

7. DO NOT use in close proximity to ﬂammable materials.

8. To unplug the power cord, simply grasp the plug. DO NOT pull on the power cord itself. Do not pull or carry by the cord, use the cord as a handle, close door on the cord, pull cord around sharp corners or expose cord to heated surfaces.

9. DO NOT handle the power cord with wet hands.

10. Store the product in a cool place indoors.

11. DO NOT immerse the unit or expose it to rain.

12. DO NOT spray steam in the direction of another person, animal or electrical outlet.

13. Make sure to unplug the power cord prior to filling the product with water, emptying tank or when not in use.

14. DO NOT allow to be used as a toy.

15. Not for space heating purposes.

WARNING

DO NOT modify the plug. Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electrical shock. To provide continued protection against risk of electric shock, connect to properly grounded outlet only.

IMPORTANT

Use regular tap water, or if the tap water in your area is hard, we recommend you use distilled/puriﬁed water. Always empty water from water tank after use.

16. Never put any aromatic oils or perfumes, chemicals, alcohol or detergent products into the steam cleaner, except those approved by HAAN®. Non-approved additives may damage the unit or make it unsafe for use.

17. To refill the product with water during use, follow the directions on pg 11-12. Unplug the product before attempting to add water.

18. The product and accessories become hot during use. Exercise care when changing accessories and follow removal/changing instructions as outlined in manual. Do not try to fasten or remove accessories during operation. Scalding may occur if this is done while appliance is active.

19. Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments — use of attachments not provided, approved or sold by HAAN® may cause ﬁre, electric shock or injury and will void warranty.

20. If the circuit breaker activates while using the steam function, discontinue product use immediately and contact the customer support center.(beware of the risk of electrical shock). To avoid circuit overload, do not operate another appliance on same circuit as the garment steamer.

21. DO NOT allow the product to be disassembled and/or modiﬁed by anyone other than an authorized HAAN® service technician. Doing so can result in ﬁre and/or electrical shock and would void warranty.

22. While using the Garment Steamer, steam only in an up and down vertical motion. Never hold steam head down while at rest or tilt it in a backward position as this may result in hot water discharge and possible injury.

23. This appliance is not designed to be used by people (including children) with a physical, sensory or mental impairment, or people without knowledge or experience, unless they are supervised or given prior instructions concerning the use of this garment steamer by someone responsible for their safety.

24. Do not allow cord to contact sharp edges or touch hot surfaces. Let Garment Steamer cool completely before putting away.

25. Do not use on leather, wax polished furniture or ﬂoors, synthetic fabrics, velvet or other delicate, steam-sensitive materials.

26. DO NOT cut or attempt to extend the insulated hose.

Do not change the plug in any way.

Grounding Instructions:

The HAAN wiring system. Grounding provides a safe path of least resistance for electrical current, in the event the unit should malfunction or break down, thereby reducing the risk of electrical shock. The cord for this product has an equipmentgrounding conductor and a grounding plug. Do not plug it into an outlet that is not properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.

Check with a qualified electrician or service person if you aren’t sure if the outlet is properly grounded. If it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician. This appliance is designed for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit and has a grounding attachment plug as illustrated above. Make certain that the appliance is connected to an outlet having the same configuration as the plug. No

plug adapter should be used with this appliance.

If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, the electrical rating should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance. Cords rated for less currency may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that it cannot be pulled or tripped over.

Before Using Your Garment Steamer

Be sure to read ALL instructions and warnings before using your HAAN® Garment Steamer.

WARNING

HELPFUL HAAN

Never rest the Steam Head Wand anywhere except in the Steam Head Cradle found at the top of the collapsible hanger.

HELPFUL HAAN® HINT:

DO NOT add cleaning solutions, scented perfumes, oils or any other chemicals to the water used in this appliance except those authorized by HAAN While it is acceptable to use regular tap water, if the tap water in your area is hard, we recommend you use distilled/puriﬁed water to extend the life of your appliance. Always empty water from water tank after use.

HINT:

Your Garment Steamer is designed to steam fabric surfaces that will withstand high heat. Do not use on unsealed wood or unglazed ceramic ﬂoors. Do not use on leather, synthetic fabrics, velvet or other delicate, steam-sensitive materials. It is always recommended to test an isolated area of the surface to be steamed before proceeding. We also recommend that you check the use and care instructions on the garment before using the Garment Steamer on the fabric.

CAUTION

Use a grounded receptacle. Use only a heavy duty extension cord rated for 15 amps minimum – DO NOT use an ordinary extension cord. To provide continued protection against the risk of electric shock, connect to properly grounded outlet only.

IMPORTANT

This product is NOT for space heating purposes.

CAUTION

Always be sure that your Garment Steamer is UNPLUGGED from the wall receptacle prior to ﬁlling the water tank.

FEATURE IDENTIFICATION:

1. Steam Wand with Steam Head - features 9 powerful steam jets which gently emit the perfect amount of steam to freshen and de-wrinkle fabrics throughout your home.

2. Wand Cradle - the prongs on the top of the hanger serve as a rest for the Steam Wand between uses.

3. Collapsible Hanger - allows you to perfectly steam your favorite blouses and other clothing items.

4. Garment Clips (4) - holds slacks and other longer items in place for quick steaming.

5. Telescoping Height-Adjustable Pole - locks into steamer ﬂoor base and adjusts for steaming fabric items of any length.

6. Pole Locks (2) - unlock easily to allow for pole adjustment and lock to hold position securely at just the right height.

7. Insulated Hose - safely delivers 212˚F steam to steam head while staying cool to the touch.

8. Crossbar - adjustable to securely hold bottom of garment for hands-free steaming and locks into place easily.

9. Locking Hose Guide - locks hose to Main Steam Unit.

10. Power Button - for easy ON/OFF operation.

11. Power Indicator Light - illuminates to indicate unit is ON.

12. Water Rell Indicator Light - illuminates to let you know when to add more water.

13. Removable Reservoir Tank - convenient handle and a screw-off lid enables easy ﬁlling and holds enough water to provide a full 60 minutes of steaming time.

14. Excess Water Removal Valve - to completely drain the tank for long-term storage.
