Please note the following instructions when using the appliance.

Follow these instructions to prevent damaging the appliance or danger arising from improper use. Keep them in a safe place.

Do not use on wet surfaces and do not attempt to use it on wet objects.

Do not use the appliance in damp surroundings.

This appliance is designed for vacuuming dirt and dust particles. Do not attempt to use it on large objects which could block the appli­ance and damage it.

Do not use it on cigarette stubs, ash from a fireplace or matches. This could cause a fire.

This appliance is not designed for cleaning people or animals.

Do not insert any foreign objects into the suc­tion intake. Always keep the suction intake free of any objects.

Do not stand the appliance upright while you are cleaning.

Do not roll the appliance over the power cord.

Do not close any doors on top of the power cord.

Do not pull the power cord round sharp edges and do not squash it.

If you move the appliance to another room, always disconnect the power cord and carry the appliance by the handle.

Never move the appliance by pulling on the power cord.

Never operate the appliance without the dust bag and filter.

Change the filter when necessary.

Only use original GRUNDIG accessories or Swirl dust bags when exchanging parts.

Always pull out the power cord before cleaning or carrying out any maintenance on the appliance.

Whenever possible, insert the power cord plug directly into the socket. Avoid using extension cables or multipoint connectors.

Pull out the power plug after use. Do not dis­connect the plug by pulling on the cable.

If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service cen­tre or a similarly qualified person to prevent danger arising.

Do not use the appliance if the air duct and

the ventilation slot are blocked. Always keep the air duct and ventilation slot free of dirt, hair and any other elements which could obstruct or block the air flow.

Never use the appliance if it is visibly dam­aged. This also applies if the appliance has become accidently wet. Please contact your specialist dealer if this is the case.

Keep the appliance out of the reach of children.

Congratulations of the purchase of your VCC 9850 canister vacuum cleaner with integrated Microban hygiene protection. In order to guar­antee this protection over a long period of time, we request that you only use dust bags equipped with Microban. These can be obtained directly from the specialist dealer from whom you bought your GRUNDIG vacuum cleaner. You can also order your dust bags from the following reference addresses:

If you do not want to use dust bags with inte­grated Microban® hygiene protection, you can also use type Y 50 dust bags from Swirl for the VCC 9850.
However, we would like to inform you that your GRUNDIG vacuum cleaner will not have full hygiene protection with this type of dust bag.
Read the following user notes carefully to ensure you can enjoy your quality product from Grundig for many years to come.
