EZ LATCH™can only be used in vehicles that
are equipped with LATCH or ISOFIX anchor points.
To properly install car seat, you will need the following:
• Original car seat instruction manual. If car seat instruction manual is missing, call 1-800-837-4044 to obtain instruction manual.
• Vehicle owner’s manual.
• Tether kit or top tether strap for forward-facing or booster car seats.
Important Information
LATCH SYSTEMS FOR VEHICLES:
LATCH in the vehicle consists of a top tether
anchor point and two lower anchor points (Fig. a).
Some vehicle owner manuals use the term ISOFIX to identify the new car seat anchorage system. This EZ LATCH
can also be used in vehicle seating positions equipped with ISOFIX.

What is LATCH?
United States Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards have defined a new system for installing car seats in vehicles. The system is called LATCH. LATCH stands for:

LATCH SYSTEMS FOR CAR SEATS:
The LATCH on the car seat consists of a top tether strap used (for forward-facing only) and lower anchorage belt (Fig. a).
The LATCH shown below allows you to attach your Graco or Century car seat to a vehicle
with LATCH or ISOFIX anchor points.

WARNING
Avoid serious injury or death:
• DO NOT use EZ LATCH
to restrain an occupant.
• Use only with Graco and Century car seats.
See Use Restrictions.
• Never attach two connectors to one vehicle lower anchor point unless specifically allowed by the vehicle manufacturer.
• If car seat or EZ LATCH
is in a crash, they must be replaced. DO NOT use them again! A crash can cause unseen damage and using it again could result in serious injury or death.
Use the EZ LATCH™only on Graco and Century car seats manufactured after September 1, 1997 see “Manufactured On” date label on car seat.

Typical seat in a passenger vehicle. Other vehicle types may have different LATCH locations.
Newer vehicles have one or more seating positions with LATCH anchorage systems.
If vehicle is equipped with LATCH, the vehicle lower anchor points may be visible at the vehicle seat crease. If not visible, they may be marked with the symbol below (Fig. a). See your vehicle
owner’s manual for exact locations, anchor identification, and requirements for use with a car seat.
Check vehicle owner’s manual for vehicle top tether anchor locations. They may be identified using one of the anchor symbols as shown below
(Fig. b or Fig. c). ONLY use EZ LATCH™ or a car seat in a
seating position recommended by vehicle manufacturer.

Tighten EZ LATCH™by pushing down hard on car seat and pulling the adjustment belt (Fig. d).
Test car seat for secure installation as described in car seat instruction manual by pulling front-to-back and left-to-right.
Check that the EZ LATCH
stays tight and does not slip from the tightened position. If it does not stay tight, try another seating position or contact Customer Service.
For forward-facing car seats only, attach the
top tether strap and tighten top tether strap.
Forward-facing car seats SHOULD use a top
tether strap in addition to EZ LATCH
.
If you do not have a top tether strap, call 1-888-224-6549 with your model number and date of manufacture to see if a top tether strap is available for your model.
Each trip check that car seat is securely
installed; tighten if necessary.
Installing Car Seat In Vehicle
Follow instruction manual provided with car seat for installation in vehicle; use the
EZ LATCH
in place of the vehicle seat belt.
For ease of installation, extend EZ LATCH
to its maximum length.
Position car seat, rear-facing or forward-facing, correctly for your child
(Fig. a or Fig. b).
IMPORTANT: Release Buttons must face up
and Adjuster must face outward so belt can be adjusted without interference (Fig. a).
Thread EZ LATCH
through car seat belt path normally used for vehicle seat belt, as shown in car seat manual.
Belt must lay flat and not be twisted.
Hook Connectors to vehicle lower anchors. Pull firmly on Connectors to be sure they are attached (Fig. c).

Tilt metal tab of adjuster to release tension (Fig. a), then pull webbing through adjuster to loosen belt.
HINT: Press down on car seat to reduce tension
on EZ LATCH
.
Press and hold red release button (Fig. b).
Push connector in, lift connector up and pull out (away from anchor point) (Fig. c).
Repeat steps 2 and 3 with other connector.

Refer to your booster seat manual to see if EZ LATCH™ can be used.
Maintenance
Periodically check belt for damage or wear. A damaged or frayed belt MUST be replaced.
EZ LATCH
belt may be surface washed with a solution of mild soap and water. Rinse with clean water. DO NOT USE HARSH
CLEANERS OR IMMERSE THE BELT IN WATER. Doing so may weaken the belt.
Rinse with clean water and air dry.
