RETAIN INSTRUCTIONS: The safety and operating instructions should be retained for

future reference.

HEED WARNINGS: All warnings on the product and in the operating instructions

should be adhered to.

FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS: All operating and use instructions should be followed. CLEANING: The product should be cleaned only with a polishing cloth or a soft dry

cloth. Never clean with furniture wax, benzine, insecticides or other volatile liquids since they may corrode the cabinet.

ATTACHMENTS: Do not use attachments not recommended by the product

manufacturer as they may cause hazards.

WATER AND MOISTURE: Do not use this product near water, for example, near a

bathtub, wash bowl, kitchen sink, or laundry tub; in a wet basement; or near a

swimming pool; and the like. ACCESSORIES: Do not place this product on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket,

or table. The product may fall, causing serious injury to a child or adult, and serious damage to the product. Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table recommended by the manufacturer, or sold with the product. Any mounting of the product should follow the manufacturer’s instructions, and should use a mounting accessory recommended by the manufacturer.

CART: A product and cart combination should be moved with care. Quick stops,

excessive force, and uneven surfaces may cause the product and cart combination to overturn. See Figure A.

VENTILATION: Slots and openings in the cabinet are provided for ventilation and to

ensure reliable operation of the product and to protect it from overheating, and these openings must not be blocked or covered. The openings should never be blocked by placing the product on a bed, sofa, rug, or other similar surface. This product should not be placed in a built-in installation such as a bookcase or rack unless proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturer’s instructions have been adhered to.

POWER SOURCES: This product should be operated only from the type of power

source indicated on the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your home, consult your product dealer or local power company.

LOCATION: The appliance should be inst alled in a st able location. NON-USE PERIODS: The power cord of the appliance should be unplugged from the

outlet when left unused for a long period of time.

GROUNDING OR POLARIZATION:

• If this product is equipped with a polarized alternating current line plug (a plug having one blade wider than the other), it will fit into the outlet only one way. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug should still fail to fit, contact your electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug.

• If this product is equipped with a three-wire grounding type plug, a plug having a third (grounding) pin, it will only fit into a grounding type power outlet. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug into the outlet, contact your electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the grounding type plug.

POWER-CORD PROTECTION: Power-supply cords should be routed so that they are

not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or against them, paying particular attention to cords at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the product.

OUTDOOR ANTENNA GROUNDING: If an outside antenna or cable system is

connected to the product, be sure the antenna or cable system is grounded so as to provide some protection against voltage surges and built-up static charges. Article 810 of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, provides information with regard to proper grounding of the mast and supporting structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna discharge unit, size of grounding conductors, location of antenna-discharge unit, connection to grounding electrodes, and requirements for the grounding electrode. See Figure B.

LIGHTNING: For added protection for this product during a lightning storm, or when it

is left unattended and unused for long periods of time, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna or cable system. This will prevent damage to the product due to lightning and power-line surges.

POWER LINES: An outside antenna system should not be located in the vicinity of

overhead power lines or other electric light or power circuits, or where it can fall into such power lines or circuits. When installing an outside antenna system, extreme care should be taken to keep from touching such power lines or circuits as contact with them might be fatal.

OVERLOADING: Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or integral

convenience receptacles as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock.

OBJECT AND LIQUID ENTRY: Never push objects of any kind into this product

through openings as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short-out parts that could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the product.

SERVICING: Do not attempt to service this product yourself as opening or removing

covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

DAMAGE REQUIRING SERVICE: Unplug this product from the wall outlet and refer

servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions:

• When the power-supply cord or plug is damaged.

• If liquid has been spilled, or objects have fallen into the product.

• If the product has been exposed to rain or water.

• If the product does not operate normally by following the operating instructions. Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operating instructions as an improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage and will often require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the product to its normal operation.

• If the product has been dropped or damaged in any way.

• When the product exhibits a distinct change in performance, this indicates a need for service.

REPLACEMENT PARTS: When replacement parts are required, be sure the service

technician has used replacement parts specified by the manufacturer or have the same characteristics as the original part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock, or other hazards.

SAFETY CHECK: Upon completion of any service or repairs to this product, ask the

service technician to perform safety checks to determine that the product is in proper operating condition.

WALL OR CEILING MOUNTING: The product should not be mounted to a wall or ceiling. HEAT: The product should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators,

heat registers, stoves, or other products (including amplifiers) that produce heat.

VOLTAGE SELECTOR: To set the proper voltage, adjust the VOLTAGE SELECTOR (1) switch to 115 or 230 volts.

POWER JACK (AC IN): Connect the power plug into the POWER JACK (2) for power.

REMOTE CONTROL: Use the included CABLE & REMOTE CONTROL (3) jacks to connect the REMOTE CONTROL to the MAIN UNIT.

LINE OUTPUT JACKS: LINE OUTPUT JACKS (4) provide stereo sound via included RCA cables to your mixer or receiver.

NOTE: MAKE SURE CABLES ARE PLUGGED IN TIGHT FOR OPTIMAL SOUND.

DIGITAL OUTPUT (COAXIAL): Use the COAXIAL (5) jack to connect to any type of device that accepts digital signals.

POWER: Press the POWER (6) button to turn on the CD player.

NOTE: MAKE SURE VOLT AGE SELECTOR SWITCH (1) IS SET BEFORE USE.

DISC TRAY: Put a CD in the DISC TRAY (7) after pressing STOP (8); trays hold both 12 cm and 8 cm CDs.

STOP: Tap the STOP (8) button once to STOP the CD, twice to open the DISC TRAY (7), and a third time to close the tray.

NOTE: THE STOP (8) BUTT ON ONL Y FUNCTIONS AS STO P AND EJECT ON THE REMOTE CONTROL.

DISPLAY: The DISPLAY (9) shows the various functions for the CD Player. See FUNCTION DESCRIPTIONS for details.

PLAYBACK DISPLA Y BAR: The PLAYBACK DISPLAY BAR (10) shows the TIME ELAPSED and TIME REMAINING.

PLAY/PAUSE: Press PLAY/PAUSE (11) button to activate PLAY or PAUSE mode. See CUE or ROBO S TART INSTRUCTIONS for details.

CUE/PREVIEW: Tap CUE/PREVIEW (12) to come back to a set CUE or press and hold to PREVIEW from a CUE POINT, refer to CUE INSTRUCTIONS.

TRACK: Press the TRACK (13) buttons to select which TRACK to play.

SEARCH: Use the SEARCH (14) buttons to scan forward and reverse directions on a TRACK.

TIME: Tap the TIME (15) button to switch the TIME preference in three modes: ELAPSED, REMAIN, TOTAL REMAIN.

SINGLE: Tap SINGLE (16) for SINGLE AUTO CUE, CONTINUOUS, and NORMAL modes.

FLY CUE: FLY CUE (17) sets a SEAMLESS LOOP CUE POINT on the fly.

CUE-B/EXIT: Press CUE-B/EXIT (18) in PLAY mode, after a CUE POINT is memorized to start a LOOP, press again to exit LOOP.

RELOOP STUTTER: To play from a saved CUE POINT or a LOOP, press RELOOP STUTTER (19) to play the LOOP or the CUE again

MEMO (CUE 1-3): Press MEMO (20), then select a CUE POINT from CUE1-3 (20) followed by the same number again to set a CUE POINT.

Press CUE1-3 (20) to play from the set CUE POINT. JOG WHEEL: The JOG WHEEL (21) has various functions such as PITCH BEND, CUEING, VINYL MODE, and EFFECT P ARAMETERS. JOG MODE: Press to change the JOG MODE (22) of the JOG WHEEL (21) from CD to VINYL mode. EFFECT : Press an EFFECT button: FILTER, ZOOM, TRANS, or ECHO (23), to activate an EFFECT. T ap the EFFECTS (23) button to release. MASTER TEMPO: Pressing MASTER TEMPO (24) locks the PITCH of a track with no change in vocal or instrument tone. PITCH BEND: Buttons for PITCH BEND (25), lower or raise the pitch percentage (- or + 4%) when pressed. PITCH: The PITCH (26) button activates the PITCH CONTROL SLIDE (27). PITCH SELECT (4%, 12%, 24%, & 100%): Use the PITCH SELECT (27) button to change the PITCH settings from 4%, 12%, & 24%.

Press and hold for 100% PITCH. PITCH CONTROL SLIDE: Moving the PITCH CONTROL SLIDE (28) up or down will lower or raise the pitch percentage.

ROBO START: Using ROBO START (29) enables you to alternate play between two CDs using both sides.

PGM (PROGRAM): First choose a side by selecting A or B (30). For track programming press PGM (30) then enter a track number followed by

PGM (30) and so-forth. For direct selection press a TRACK NUMBER followed by SET (30) then PLAY/PAUSE (11) to jump to that track.

INTRODUCTION:

Congratulations on purchasing a GEMINI CFX-40 Dual CD Player. This state of the art professional CD player is backed by a three year warranty, excluding lasers. One year warranty on CD lasers. Prior to use, we suggest that you carefully read all the instructions.

CAUTIONS:

Do not use this CD Player at temperatures below 41°F/5°C or higher than 95°F/35°C. The apparatus should not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects filled with liquids such as vases should be placed on the apparatus. Place the unit in a clean and dry location. Do not place the unit in an unstable location. When disconnecting the power cord from an AC outlet, always grasp it by the plug. Never pull the power cord. To prevent electric shock, do not remove the cover or the bottom screws. There are no user serviceable parts inside. Please refer servicing to a qualified technician. Do not use chemical solvents to clean the unit. Keep the laser pickup clean by keeping the drawer closed. Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Since the CFX-40 is a dual CD player, most of the functions and controls are duplicated on both sides of the CD player. To eliminate confusion and to make the drawings easier to understand, we will only number the left side functions and controls.

LINE VOLTAGE SELECTION:

Model CFX-40 is a dual voltage unit. It will operate at 115 or 230 volts. To set the proper voltage, follow these steps:

5. Connect any type of device that will accept a digital signal, such as DAT, MD, HARD DRIVE, ETC to the COAXIAL (5) INPUT on the rear panel of the transport to record a digital signal.

FUNCTION DESCRIPTIONS:

ANTI-SHOCK BUFFER MEMORY: With 12 SECONDS OF ANTI-SHOCK BUFFER MEMORY, each side of the CD player stores 6 seconds of

future play to ensure that any harsh movement or bumping of the unit will not interrupt play and play will continue smoothly.

NOTE: REFER TO CONNECTION SECTION FOR REMOTE CONTROL (3) & LINE OUTPUT JACKS (4).

POWER: After making sure that the VOLTAGE SELECTOR (1) switch,

found on the rear panel, is properly set, plug the unit in and press the

POWER (6) button. The unit will turn on. Pushing the POWER button (6) a second time will turn the unit off.

DISC TRAY: The DISC TRAY (7) is where the CD is held during loading, unloading and playback. Pressing the disc trays STOP (8) button, will open or close the tray. The DISC TRAY (7) holds both 12 cm and 8 cm CDs. Please note, if the CFX-40 is in play mode, the tray will not open.

NOTE: DO NOT FORCE THE DISC TRAY (7), EXCESSIVE FORCE MA Y DAMAGE THE CD-MECHANISM.

STOP: Press the STOP (8) button to STOP a CD in PLAY mode and to

also load or remove a CD from the DISC TRAY (7).

NOTE: THE STOP (8) BUTTON ONLY FUNCTIONS AS STOP AND EJECT ON THE REMOTE CONTROL.

DISPLAY: The DISPLAY (9) shows the track number, pitch value, single-

auto cue, continue (for continuous play), and 3 different time displays. These time displays are time elapsed on the track, time remaining on the disc and time remaining on the track. Time is measured in minutes, seconds and frames. It also shows the beats-per-minute of the track.

PLAYBACK DISPLAY BAR: The PLAYBACK DISPLAY BAR (10) displays the elapsed and remaining time for each track. The display flashes slowly when the track has 15 seconds remaining and pulses rapidly when playing time is down to 5 seconds.

PLAY/PAUSE : Each press of the PLAY/ PAUSE BUTTON (11) causes the operation to change from play to pause or from pause back to play.

CUE/PREVIEW: With the unit in the PLAY mode and after the CUE POINT has been programmed, pressing CUE/PREVIEW (12) will cause the CD player to enter the PAUSE mode at the programmed CUE POINT. Holding down the CUE/PREVIEW (12) button changes the function to PREVIEW and starts the CD from the programmed CUE POINT. Releasing the CUE/ PREVIEW (12) button will return the CD laser to the preset CUE POINT.

1. Place the head of a screwdriver in the center of the VOLTAGE SELECTOR SWITCH (1) found on the rear panel.

2. Slide the switch left for 115 volts or push the switch right for 230 volts.

3. Do not force or twist the switch. Excessive force may cause damage. If the switch does not move smoothly, contact a qualified technician.

CONNECTIONS:

1. Connect the power plug into the AC IN (2) jack for POWER.

2. Using the included cables, plug one end into the REMOTE CONTROL (3) connector on side 2 and the other end into the MAIN UNIT (3) connector also on side 2. Do the same for side 1.

IMPORTANT NOTE: YOU MUST CONNECT SIDE 1 ON THE REMOTE CONTROL TO SIDE 1 ON

THE MAIN UNIT AND SIDE 2 ON THE REMOTE CONTROL TO SIDE 2 ON THE MAIN UNIT. IF YOU CROSS THEM (FOR EXAMPLE THE REMOTE CONTROL ON SIDE 1 TO THE MAIN UNIT ON SIDE 2) THE CFX-40 WILL NOT WORK.

3. Plug one end of a set of the included RCA connectors into each of the LINE OUTPUT JACKS (4).

4. Plug the other end of the RCA connectors into any available line level input jacks on your mixer. If you are connecting the CFX-40 through a receiver, you can plug the RCA connectors into the CD or AUX INPUT JACKS on your receiver. If there are no CD or AUX INPUTS, use any line level (not phono) inputs.

TRACK : The TRACK (13) buttons let you select the track to play.

SEARCH : The SEARCH (14) buttons are used to move forward

or reverse while in play or pause mode. See the CUE INSTRUCTIONS section for more information.

TIME: The TIME BUTTON (15) switches the time display between the three available choices listed under DISPLAY (9).

SINGLE: Pressing the SINGLE (16) activates the AUTO CUE FUNCTION. The AUTO CUE FUNCTION causes the unit to pause at the beginning of music of the following track and allows you to start play immediately from the start of music without any blank space (which exists at the beginning of every track). Pressing the SINGLE (16) button a second time activates the CONTINUOUS function causing the unit to play continuously (after the last track, the unit will return to the first track of the disc and continue to play). Pressing the SINGLE (16) button a third time deactivates the CONTINUOUS function.

FLY CUE: The FLY CUE (17) function lets you set cues “on the fly” with the press of a button. Press FLY CUE (17) when the disc reaches the musical location you wish to make your cue or start point. The CUE

POINT is now programmed. Press CUE/PREVIEW (12) to return to the CUE POINT. Press PLAY/PAUSE (11) and the unit start from the pre-

programmed spot.

CUE-B/EXIT: After a CUE POINT is memorized, pressing the CUE-B/EXIT

(18) button in PLAY mode, repeats the section between the CUE POINT and the point where the CUE-B/EXIT (18) button was pressed. Press the CUE-B/EXIT (18) button again or pause play to exit the repeating play.

2. Press the STOP (8) button, place a CD in the DISC TRAY (7) and press the STOP (8) button again. The tray will close into the unit.

3. Push the TRACK (13) buttons to select the track you want to play.

RELOOP/STUTTER: RELOOP/STUTTER (19) is used for repeated play (stutter) from the cue point, repeating a previously set LOOP. The reloop function automatically returns the music to the CUE POINT and will play the LOOP until it is released with the CUE-B/EXIT BUTTON (19). CD starts instant play from the previously set CUE POINTS.

MEMO (CUE 1-3): The CFX-40 allows you to set up to 3 different CUE POINTS using the CUE 1-3 (20) buttons. To set each individual CUE POINT, press the MEMO (20) button and then a CUE 1-5 button. You

can keep setting CUE POINTS up to 3. As your music is playing, if you would like it to jump to one of your set CUE POINTS, simply press that individual CUE button and the music will jump to that point.

JOG WHEEL: Use the JOG WHEEL (21) to make fine adjustments in PAUSE mode when setting a CUE POINT. Use the JOG WHEEL (21) to bend the PITCH for precise synchronization in PLAY mode. In VINYL mode use the wheel to SCRATCH the music. If you move the wheel back and forth the music will stop and play like a vinyl turntable. When the JOG WHEEL (21) stops moving the music will continue. If you are using any EFFECTS in CD MODE the JOG WHEEL (21) will adjust the parameter of an EFFECT

JOG MODE: Press JOG MODE (22) to change from CD to VINYL mode. When in VINYL mode EFFECTS can be heard while you SCRATCH.

EFFECTS (FILTER, ZOOM, TRANS, ECHO): Press any one of four EFFECTS (23): FILTER, ZOOM, TRANS, or ECHO buttons, to use that EFFECT, and then turn the JOG WHEEL (21) to adjust the EFFECT parameters of the selected EFFECT. Use the EFFECTS (23) buttons to turn the EFFECTS ON and OFF.

MASTER TEMPO BUTTON: The MASTER TEMPO BUTTON (24) control locks in the music’s pitch even when the tempo changes. You can vary the beat with no change in vocal or instrument tone.

PITCH BEND BUTTONS: Pushing the PITCH BEND BUTTONS (25) will automatically raise the pitch up to +4% or lower the pitch down to -4% from the existing pitch setting. Releasing the buttons will return the pitch to the original pitch setting. You can use this function to match the pitch bend when mixing from one song to another.

PITCH: Pushing the PITCH BUTTON (26) activates the PITCH CONTROL SLIDE (28). The pitch of the CD will change according to the position of the PITCH CONTROL SLIDE (28).

PITCH SELECT (4%, 12%, 24%, & 100%): Use the PITCH SELECT (34) button to assign the percentage of PITCH the PITCH CONTROL SLIDE (28) will have. The 4% button will assign +/-4% to the pitch control slide. The 12% button will assign +/-12% to the pitch control slide. The 24% button will assign +/-24% to the pitch control slide. Press and hold

PITCH SELECT (34) for 100% PITCH. The PITCH (26) button must be ON

for the PITCH SELECT (27) 4%, 12% and 24% button to work.

4. Press the PLAY/PAUSE (11) buttons and the unit will instantly play.

EFFECTS:

Press any one of the four EFFECTS (23): (FILTER, ZOOM, TRANS, and ECHO) buttons to use an effect. The FILTER effect allows you to

change the cutoff frequency of the playback sound. This allows the DJ to extract and play back specific parts from the playback sound. The ZOOM effect changes the delay time by mixing a short delay with the playback sound. This function allows you to produce the sound of a jet engine or flanger effect using a single CD player. TRANS cuts off the audio signal in cycles causing a stutter effect, the length of the incoming sound will decrease as the parameter increases. ECHO repeats the music and will create a reverb with higher parameters. The

To use FLY CUE (17) to set a FLY CUE POINT and SEAMLESS LOOP follow these instructions:

1. While a track is in PLAY mode, press FLY CUE (17) at the point where you want the CUE POINT to be, (FLY CUE (17) will flash green and

CUE/PREVIEW (11) will flash blue) as the CD plays. Now that a CUE POINT is memorized, press the CUE/PREVIEW (11) button to return to

the FLY CUE POINT at any time. Push the PLAY/P AUSE (11) button, and the unit will instantly play from the CUE POINT selected. Pressing RELOOP STUTTER (19) will also start PLAY from the CUE POINT.

2. To create a SEAMLESS LOOP press FLY CUE (17) to memorize a CUE

POINT. Using the previously selected CUE POINT, press the CUE-B/ EXIT (18) button to activate an EXIT POINT and start the LOOP, (the FLY CUE (17) and CUE-B/EXIT (18) buttons will flash green together). Press CUE-B/EXIT (18) to EXIT the LOOP at any time, and press RELOOP STUTTER (19) to activate the LOOP.

MEMO CUE:

Another easy way to set CUE POINTS is the MEMO (CUE-1-3) (23). You can store up to 3 CUE POINTS in memory from any track within a CD. Just press MEMO (20) then select any 1 of the 3 CUE POINTS (CUE 1-3) to set a CUE POINT. Once you set a MEMO CUE POINT you can return to that CUE by pressing it again. If the CD is PLAYING it will play from the CUE POINT and if the CD is PAUSED the CUE POINT will be PAUSED as well. MEMO POINTS are locked in memory until that CD is ejected from the CD player.

NOTE: THE MEMO CUES CAN ALSO BE SET IN P AUSE MODE USING THE JOG WHEEL FOR

PRECISE CUE POINTS.

PITCH CONTROL SLIDE: Moving the PITCH CONTROL SLIDE (28) up

or down will lower or raise the pitch percentage.

ROBO START: Press the ROBO START BUTTON (29) to activate ROBO START function (the button will blink). Use ROBO START in SINGLE- AUTO CUE MODE to alternate play between the two sides of the CD

player (one track from one side, then one track from the other side). See the ROBO START instructions section for further instructions.

PGM (PROGRAM): Use the PGM (30) section for DIRECT SELECT or to create a TRACK PROGRAM. Please refer to the PGM section for detailed instructions.

OPERATIONS:

1. Make sure that the VOLTAGE SELECTOR (1) switch, found on the rear panel, is set for the proper voltage. Plug the unit in and press the POWER (6) button. The unit will turn on. Pushing the POWER (6) button a second time will turn the unit off.

PLA Y CUE:

1. To memorize the spot at which you want play to start, select the proper track, and then push the PLAY/PAUSE (11) button so the unit goes into the PLAY mode (PLAY/PAUSE (11) LED will glow green). Listen to the CD and when the CD gets to the approximate spot, push PLAY/ P AUSE (12) so the unit goes into PAUSE mode (PLA Y/PAUSE (1 1) LED will blink green). Move the JOG WHEEL (21) to the precise spot you want play to begin and push the PLAY/PAUSE (11) button to memorize the CUE POINT. Press the CUE BUTTON (12) to return to the memorized CUE POINT. Push the PLA Y/PAUSE BUTTON (11), and the unit will instantly play from the spot selected.

2. To fine tune a CUE POINT, pause play at the memorized CUE POINT (the CUE/PREVIEW (12) LED will glow and the PLAY/PAUSE (11) LED will blink), then use the JOG WHEEL (21) to scan frame by frame (1/ 75th of a second) to where you want play to begin (the CUE LED will blink while you scan). Press PLAY/PAUSE (11) to save the new cue point.

NOTE: DURING FINE TUNING THERE WILL BE A STUTTER EFFECT (TO HELP YOU FIND

THE BEAT). THE STUTTERING EFFECT WILL END WHEN YOU PRESS THE PLAY/PAUSE (11) TO SAVE THE CUE POINT .

IN SINGLE-AUTO CUE MODE:

Use ROBO START (29) in SINGLE-AUTO CUE MODE to alternate play between the CFX-40 two CD players (one track from one side, then one from the other). In SINGLE-AUTO CUE MODE play starts immediately with no blank or “dead” space. ROBO START causes one side of the CD player to play when the other side is paused.

1. Engage SINGLE-AUTO CUE MODE with the SINGLE (16) button.

2. Press the ROBO START (29) button to activate ROBO START. Play will alternate between the two CD players. At the end of a track, the playing side pauses and the other CD deck plays a track. At the end of this track, the playing side pauses and the first CD deck resumes play.

IN CONTINUOUS MODE OR DURING NORMAL PLA Y :

If you use ROBO START without SINGLE-AUT O CUE MODE (in CONTINUOUS MODE or during normal play), play will not alternate automatically. Pressing pause on the playing side will cause the other side to play.

1. During normal play, set a CUE POINT on the other side of the CD player.

2. Press the ROBO START (29) button to activate ROBO START (the button will blink).

3. Press PLAY/PAUSE (11) button on the playing side to begin play from the cue point on the other side.

NOTE: PAUSING THE PLAYING SIDE IN THE MIDDLE OF A TRACK WILL CAUSE THE OTHER

SIDE TO PLAY. WHEN THAT TRACK ENDS, PLAY WILL BEGIN FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE TRACK WHERE PLA Y WAS PAUSED.

PROGRAM:

First choose either DISC 1 or 2, and press STOP (8) to reset any previous program on the side that is chosen. Then press either A or B (30) to choose DISC 1 or 2. Next press PGM (30) for PROGRAM mode, (the PGM LED will start flashing green). Select the TRACK NUMBER with the NUMBER PAD and SET (30) afterwards to select a track for that slot. Continue to press PGM (30) and select tracks, until filled with the total number of tracks. Then press PLAY/PAUSE (11) to start the program (the PGM LED will be solid green). To exit the PROGRAM press the STOP (8) button. The SINGLE (16) AUTO CUE mode that is being used, such as CONTINUOUS or SINGLE modes will affect the way the tracks play, ROBO START will not be affected by

PROGRAMING.

DIRECT SELECT :

To DIRECTL Y SELECT a TRACK, just press the TRACK NUMBER then SET (30) followed by PLAY/PAUSE (11) to PLAY the last selection.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

• If the disk will not play, check to see if the disc was loaded correctly

(label side up). Also check the disc for excessive dirt, scratches, etc.

• If the disc turns but there is no sound, check the cable connections. If they are okay, check your amplifier or receiver.

• If the CD skips, check the CD for dirt or scratches. Do not assume that the CD player is defective. Many CDs are recorded out of spec and will skip on most or all CD players. Before sending the unit in for repair, try playing a CD that you are sure plays properly.

AUSWAHL DER LEITUNGSSPANNUNG:

Model CFX-40 ist ein Gerät mit Doppelspannung. Es arbeitet bei 115 oder 230 V. Um die vorschriftsmäßige Spannung einzustellen, sind folgende Schritte zu befolgen:

1. Die Spitze des Schraubenziehers in die Mitte des VOLTAGE SELECTOR (1) Schalters setzen, der sich an der Rückwand des Gehäuses befindet.

2. Den Schalter nach links auf 115 V oder nach rechts auf 230 V schieben.

3. Den Schalter nicht zwingen oder drehen. Wenn man übermäßige Gewalt anwendet, kann dies den Schalter beschädigen. Wenn der Schalter sich nicht leicht schieben lässt, wenden Sie sich an einen qualifizierten Fachmann.

ANSCHLUSSVERBINDUNGEN:

1. Verbinden Sie den Netzstecken im AC IN-NETZBUCHSE (2) fur STROM.

2. Benutzen Sie die beigefügten Kabel und stecken ein Ende in den REMOTE CONTROL (3) Stecker an Seite 2 und das andere Ende in den MAIN UNIT (3) Stecker ebenfalls an Seite 2. Den gleichen Vorgang bei Seite 1 durchführen.

HAUPTGERÄTS UND SEITE 2 AN DER FERNSTEUERUNG AN SEITE 2 DES HAUPTGERÄTS ANSCHLIESSEN. WENN DIESE KREUZWEISE VERBUNDEN WERDEN (Z.B., WENN DIE FERNSTEUERUNG AN SEITE 1 DES HAUPTGERÄTS AN SEITE 2 ANGESCHLOSSEN WIRD) WIRD DER CFX-50 NICHT FUNKTIONIEREN.

3. Das eine Ende eines Satze RCA-Stecker (versorgt) an jeder der LINE OUTPUT (4) Buchsen anschließen.

4. Das andere Ende der RCA-Stecker an einer freien Leitungspegel-

Eingangsbuchse des Mischpultes anschließen. Wenn Sie den CFX-40 durch einen Empfänger anschließen, können Sie die RCA-Stecker an den CD- bzw. AUX-Eingangsbuchsen des Empfängers anschließen. Wenn keine CD- bzw. AUX-Eingänge zur Verfügung stehen, können Sie einen beliebigen Leitungspegeleingang (kein Phono) benutzen.

5. Verbinden Sie jenes Gerattyp das ein digitales Signal akzeptieren wird, wie z.B. DAT, MD, FESTPLATTE, USW. zu der COAXIAL (5) EINGABE auf der Ruckseite des Transports um ein digitales Signal aufzunehmen.

FUNKTIONSBESCHREIBUNGEN:

SCHOCKSICHERER SPEICHER: Mit SCHOCKSICHEREM ZWICHENSPEICHER FÜR 12 SEKUNDEN SPEICHERUNG, speichert jede Seite des CD-

Spielers 6 Sekunden des zukünftigen Abspielens, um sicherzustellen, dass jegliche ruckartige Bewegungen oder Stöße gegen die Wand des Geräts das Spielen nicht unterbrechen werden und dass das Spielen reibungslos weiterläuft.

BEMERKUNG: VERWEISEN SIE AUF DEN VERBINDUNGSABSCHNITT FUR REMOTE

CONTROL (3) & LINE OUTPUT JACKS (4).

POWER: Nachdem sichergestellt wurde, daß der Schieberschalter

VOLTAGE SELECTOR (1) auf der hinteren Schalttafel richtig eingestellt ist, das Gerät einstöpseln und den Netzschalter POWER (6) einschalten. Damit wird das Gerät eingeschaltet. Wenn der Schalter POWER (6) ein zweites Mal gedrückt wird, wird es ausgeschaltet.

DISC TRAY (PLATTENSCHUBFACH): Während dem Laden, Entladen und Playback wird die CD im PLATTENSCHUBFACH (7) gehalten. W enn Sie die STOP (8)-Taste drücken, wird sich das Plattenschubfach öffnen oder schließen. Das PLATTENSCHUBFACH (7) kann CDs von 12 cm und 8 cm aufnehmen. Bitte beachten Sie, dass sich das Plattenschubfach nicht öffnet, wenn sich der CFX-40 im Spielmodus befindet.

ANMERKUNG: ZWINGEN SIE NICHT DEN SCHEIBE BEHÄLTER, ÜBERMÄßIGE KRAFT KANN

DAS CD-MECHANISM BESCHÄDIGEN.

STOP: Drucken Sie auf die STOP (8) Tastte zum STOPPEN eines CDs im

PLAY Modus und ebenfalls zum beladen und abtragen eines CDs CD vom DISKF ACH (7).

ANMERKUNG: DIE TASTE DES END (8) ARBEITET NUR ALS ANSCHLAG UND STÖßT AUF

DIE FERNBEDIENUNG AUS.

DISPLAY: Auf dem DISPLAY (9) werden die Spur-Nr., die Tonhöhe,

einfaches Auto-Cue und Continue (für kontinuierliches Spielen) und 3 unterschiedliche Zeitanzeigen dargestellt. Diese Zeitanzeigen sind die Zeit der abgelaufenen Spur, die auf der CD und auf der Spur verbleibende Zeit. Die Zeit wird in Minuten, Sekunden und Rahmen gemessen. Ebenfalls werden die Beats (Schläge) pro Minute auf der Spur angezeigt.

PLAYBACK DISPLAY BAR: Die PLAYBACK DISPLAY BAR (10) demonstriert die verstrichene und verbleibene Zeit fur jeden Titel. Das Schirm blinkt langsam wenn der Titel 15 Sekunden ubrig hat und pulsiert sehr schnell wenn die Abspielzeit auf 5 Sekunden zuruckgekommen ist.

PLAY/PAUSE (SPIELEN/PAUSE): Jedesmal, wenn die PLAY/PAUSE (11)- Taste gedrückt wird, schaltet das Gerät von Spielen auf Pause bzw. von Pause auf Spielen.

CUE/PREVIEW: Wenn der CD-Spieler sich im Modus PLAY befindet und nachdem die Merkstelle gespeichert worden ist, verursacht ein Druck auf die Taste CUE/PREVIEW (12), dab der CD-Spielers in den Modus

PAUSE an der gespeicherten Merkstelle eintritt. Wenn Sie die CUE/ PREVIEW (12)-Taste niederdrücken, wird die Mithörfunktion auf PREVIEW zurückgesetzt (ermöglicht Ihnen, die Musik zu dem Tempo

abzuhören, das Sie durch Drücken der CUE-Taste eingestellt haben). Das Auslösen der CUE/PREVIEW (12)-Taste führt Sie zur voreingestellten Mithörstelle zurück.

TRACK (SPUR ÜBERSPRINGEN): Die TRACK (13)-Tasten möglichen die Auswahl der Spur, die gespielt werden soll. Die TRACK (13)-Tasten ermöglichen die Auswahl der Spur, die gespielt werden soll.

SEARCH (SUCHEN): Die SEARCH (14)-Tasten werden benutzt, um beim Abspielen oder im Pause-Modus vor-oder zurückzuspulen. Weitere Informationen finden unter CUE-ANWEISUNGEN.

TIME (ZEIT): Die Taste TIME (15) schaltet die Zeitanzeige auf eine der verschiedenen Zeitanzeigen, die unter DISPLAY (10) aufgeführt sind.

SINGLE: Durch Drücken der SINGLE (16) Taste aktiviert die AUTO CUE Funktion. Die Funktion stoppt das Gerät beim Start der Musik des darauffolgenden Titels und ermöglicht das Abspielen sofort beim Start der Musik ohne jeglichen leer Zwischenraum (der zu Beginn eines jeden Titels besteht). Durch Drücken der SINGLE (16) Taste ein zweites Mal aktiviert die CONTINUOUS Funktion. Diese Funktion lässt das Gerät fortwährend spielen (nach der letzten Spur kehrt das Gerät zurück nach der ersten Spur der Platte und wird das Spielen vortgesetzt). Durch Drücken der SINGLE (16) Taste ein drittes Mal desaktiviert die CONTINUOUS Funktion.

FLY CUE (SOFORT-MERKSTELLE): Die Funktion FLY CUE (17) ermöglicht Ihnen, eine Merkstelle mit dem Druck einer Taste schnell einzustellen. Wenn der CD-Spieler im Spielmodus ist, drücken Sie die Taste FLY CUE (17) an der Stelle, wo die Merkstelle sein soll (der CD Spieler spielt weiter). Nun ist die Merkstelle gespeichert. Die Taste CUE/ PREVIEW (12) drücken, um zur gespeicherten Merkstelle zurückzukehren. Die Taste PLAY/PAUSE (11) drücken, und der CD- Spieler wird sofort von der ausgewählten Stelle spielen.

CUE-B/EXIT: Nachdem eine Merkstelle gespeichert wurde und wenn die

CUE-B/EXIT (18)-Taste im Spiel-Modus gedrückt wird, wird der Abschnitt zwischen der Merkstelle und der Stelle, an der die CUE-B/EXIT (18)- Taste gedrückt wurde, wiederholt. Die CUE-B/EXIT (18)-Taste noch einmal drücken oder das Abspielen momentan stoppen, um wiederholte Abspielen zu beenden.

RELOOP/STUTTER: RELOOP/STUTTER (19) Wird benutzt für wiederholtes Abspielen (Stutter-Effekt) von der Merkstelle, wobei eine zuvor eingestellte Schleife wiederholt wird. Die Funktion der neuen Schleife führt die Musik automatisch zur Merkstelle zurück und spielt die Schleife ab, bis sie mit der CUE-B/EXIT (18)-Taste zurückgestellt wird. Die CD wird sofort von den zuvor eingestellten Merkstellen abgespielt.

MEMO CUE 1-3: Der CFX-40 ermöglicht Ihnen, bis zu fünf verschiedene Merkstellen mittels der CUE 1-3 (20)-T asten einzustellen. Um jede individuelle Merkstelle einzustellen, drücken Sie auf die MEMO (20)-Taste und dann eine Merktaste CUE 1-3 (20). Sie können bis zu 3 Merkstellen einstellen. Wenn Sie zu einer der eingestellten Merkstellen überspringen wollen, während die Musik spielt, drücken Sie einfach diese Merktaste CUE 1-3 (20), und die Musik wird zur eingestellten Merkstelle berspringen.

JOG WHEEL (AUSKLINKUNG): Nutzen Sie die AUSKLINKUNG (21) um Anpassung zu mach im PAUSE Modus bei der Einstellung eines

EINSATZPUNKTES. Nutzen Sie die AUSKLINKUNG (21) um die TONSTUFE zu beugen fur prazise Synchronisation im PLAY Modus.

Im VINYL Modus, nutzen Sie das Rad zum KRATZEN der Musik. Wenn Sie das Rad for – und ruckwarts bewegen, wird die Musik aufhoren und stoppen und langsam abspielen wie eine Vinyldrehscheibe. Falls die AUSKLINKUNG (21) nicht mehr bewegt, wird die Musik weitergehen.

Wenn Sie irgendwelche EFFEKTE im CD-MODUS verwenden, justiert das

AUSKLINKUNG (21) den P ARAMETER eines Effektes. JOG MODE (JOG MODUS): Drucken Sie auf den JOG MODUS (22)

um von CD zu VINYL Modus zu andern. Wenn im VINYLMODUS der

EFFEKT-PARAMETER verschlossen ist-. EFFECTS (FILTER, ZOOM, TRANS & ECHO): Drücken Sie eine

von vier EFFECTS (23)-Tasten: FILTER, ZOOM, TRANS oder ECHO, um damit den gewünschten Effekt zu erzielen, und dann drehen Sie das JOG WHEEL (21), um die Effect-Parameter des ausgewählten Effekts zu justieren. Benutzen Sie die EFFECTS (23)-Tasten , um die Effekte auf ON und OFF zu schalten.

MASTER TEMPO: MASTER TEMPO (24)-Taste dieser Regler arretiert die Tonhöhe, selbst wenn das Tempo geändert wird. Sie können den Beat variieren, ohne dabei den Vokal- oder Instrumentenklang zu ändern.

PITCH BEND (TONHÖHEN-NUANCE): Das Drücken der PITCH BEND (25)-Tasten wird die Tonhöhe von der ursprünglichen Einstellung

automatische bis +4% anheben oder bis auf -4% senken. Diese Funktion können Sie benutzen, um die Tonhöhen-Nuance anzupassen, wenn Sie beim Mischen vom einen zum anderen Song übergehen.

PITCH (TONHÖHE): Das Drücken der PITCH (26)-Taste aktiviert die PITCH CONTROL (TONHÖHEREGELUNG) (28) . Die T onhöhe der CD wird je nach der Stellung der TONHÖHEREGELUNG (28) geändert.

PITCH CONTROL SLIDE (TONHÖHEREGELUNG): Die Tonhöhe der CD wird je nach der Stellung der PITCH CONTROL SLIDE (35) geändert.

TONSTUFE SELECT (4%, 12%, 24%, & 100%): Nutzen Sie die

TONSTUFE SELECT (27) Taste zur Anweisung des Prozentes der TONSTUFE AN DIE TONSTUFE KONTROLLE SLIDE (28) haben wird. Die 4% Taste wird +/-4% an die Tonstufe Kontrolle Slide zuordnen. Die 12% Taste wird +/-12% an die Tonstufe Kontrolle Slide zuordnen. Die 24% Taste wird +/-24% an die Tonstufe Kontrolle Slide zuordnen. Drucken Sie und anhalten Sie den TONSTUFE SELECT (27) fur 100% PITCH. Die TONSTUFE (26) Taste muss AN sein fur den TONSTUFE SELECT (27) 4%, 12% und 24% Taste fur die Operation.

ROBO START: Drücken Sie die ROBO START (29)-Taste um den ROBO START zu aktivieren (die Taste wird glimmen). Benutzen Sie den ROBO ST ART im SINGLE-AUTO CUE-Modus, um beim Spielen der

zwischen den zwei Seiten des CD-Spielers zu alternieren (eine Spur von der einen und eine von der anderen Seite). Für weitere Informationen, siehe Robo-Start-Anweisungen.

PGM (PROGRAMM): Nutzen Sie den PGM (30) Abschnitt fur DIREKT SELECT oder zur Erstellung des TITEL PROGRAMMS. Bitte verweisen Sie auf den PGM Abschnitt fur detaillierte Hinweise.

BEDIENIUNGSANWEISUNGEN:

1. Sicherstellen, daß der VOLTAGE SELECTOR (1)-Schalter (Spannungswähler) an der Rückwand auf die vorschriftsmäßige Spannung eingestellt ist. Das Gerät anschließen und die POWER (6)Taste drücken. Damit wird das Gerät eingeschaltet. Wenn die POWER (6)Taste ein zweites Mal gedrückt wird, wird es ausgeschaltet.

2. Die STOP (8)-Taste drücken, eine CD in das CD-SCHUBFACH (7) legen und die STOP (8)-Taste (27) nochmals drücken. Das Schubfach bewegt sich zurück in das Gerät und schließt sich.

3. Die TRACK (13)-Tasten drücken, um die erschwünschte Spur auszuwählen.

4. Die Tasten PLAY/PAUSE (11) drücken, und das Gerät fängt sofort an zu spielen.

EFFEKTE:

Drücken Sie eine von vier EFFECTS-Tasten (23): (FILTER, ZOOM, PAN, TRANS oder ECHO), um damit einen bestimmten Effekt zu erzielen. Der FILTER-Effekt erlaubt Ihnen, die Unterbrechungsfrequenz des

Wiedergabeklangs zu ändern. Dies erlaubt dem DJ, Auszüge bestimmter Teile des Wiedergabeklangs abzuspielen. Der ZOOM-Effekt ändert die Verzögerungszeit, indem eine kurze Verzögerung mit dem Wiedergabeklang gemischt wird. Diese Funktion ermöglicht Ihnen, den Klang eines Düsentriebwerks oder einen “Flanger”-Effekt mit Hilfe eines einzigen CD-Spielers zu erzeugen. TRANS unterbricht das Audiosignal zyklisch, wodurch ein Stutter-Effekt erzeugt wird, die Länge der eingehenden Klänge wird abnehmen, während die Parameter zunehmen. ECHO wiederholt die Musik und wird ein Echo mit höheren Parametern erzeugen. Das JOG WHEEL (21) steuert die PARAMETER der EFFECTS. Das Drehen des JOG WHEEL (21) nach RECHTS und

LINKS wird die PARAMETERS eines EFFECT STEIGERN und REDUZIEREN. Um einen EFFECT auf OFF zu schalten, drücken Sie die EFFECT-T aste, die wieder auf ON geschaltet ist, um ihn auf OFF zu schalten.

CUES:

FL Y CUE:

Befolgen Sie folgende Anweisungen, um das FLY CUE (17) zu benutzen, einen FL Y CUE POINT und eine SEAMLESS LOOP einzustellen:

1. Während ein Titel im PLAY-Modus ist, drücken Sie FLY CUE (17) an derjenigen Stelle, wo der CUE POINT angewandt werden soll, das (FLY CUE (17) wird grün blinken) während die CD spielt. Da der CUE POINT nun eingespeichert ist, drücken Sie die CUE/PREVIEW (12)-Taste , um zum FLY CUE POINT zurückzukehren, und die Einheit wird augenblicklich ab dem ausgewählten CUE POINT spielen.

2. Um eine SEAMLESS LOOP zu erzeugen, drücken Sie FLY CUE (17), um den CUE POINT zu speichern. Um den zuvor ausgewählten CUE POINT zu benutzen, drücken Sie die CUE-B/EXIT (18)-Taste, um den EXIT POINT zu aktivieren und das LOOP zu starten, (das FLY CUE (17) und die CUE-B/EXIT (18)-Taste werden zusammen grün blinken). Drücken Sie die CUE-B/EXIT (18)-Taste für das EXIT aus dem LOOP , und drücken Sie das RELOOP STUTTER (19), um das LOOP zu aktivieren.

MEMO CUE:

Eine weitere leichte Möglichkeit, die CUE POINTS einzustellen, bietet das MEMO (CUE-1-3) (20). Sie können bis zu 3 CUE POINTS eines jeden

Titels innerhalb einer CD speichern. Drücken Sie einfach auf MEMO (20), und dann wählen Sie 1 der 3 CUE POINTS (CUE 1-3) aus, um einen CUE POINT einzustellen. Wenn Sie einen MEMO CUE POINT eingestellt haben, können Sie zu diesem CUE zurückkehren, indem Sie ihn wiederholt drücken. Wenn die CD spielt, wird sie ab dem CUE POINT gespielt, und wird das Spielen der CD unterbrochen, dann wird der CUE POINT ebenfalls unterbrochen. Die MEMO POINTS sind im Speicher gesperrt bis die CD von CD-Spieler ausgeworfen wird.

ANMERKUNG: DIE PROTOKOLLSTICHWÖRTER KÖNNEN IN PAUSE MODUS MIT DEM STOßRAD

FÜR EXAKTE STICHWORTPUNKTE AUCH EINGESTELLT WERDEN.

PLA Y CUE:

1. Um die Stelle zu speichern, an dem Abspielen beginnen soll, wählen Sie die gewünschten Spur aus und drücken die PLAY/PAUSE (11)-Taste, so dass das Gerät in den Spiel-Modus schaltet (die PLAY/PAUSE (11)- LED glimmt grün). Die CD abspielen, und wenn sie ungefähr die gewünschte Stelle erreicht, drücken Sie die PLAY/PAUSE (11)-Taste, so dass sich das Gerät in den Pause-Modus schaltet (die PLAY/PAUSE (11)-LED glimmt grün). Schieben Sie das JOG WHEEL (21) genau an die Stelle, wo das Abspielen beginnen soll, und dann drücken Sie die PLAY/

PAUSE (11)-Taste, um die Merkstelle zu speichern. Drücken Sie auf die CUE/PREVIEW (12)-Taste , um zu der gespeicherten Merkstelle

zurückzukehren. Drücken Sie die PLAY/PAUSE (11)-Taste, und dass das Gerät wird momentan die Musik von der ausgewählten Stelle an spielen.

2. Um eine Merkstelle fein abzustimmen, müssen Sie das Abspielen an der gespeicherten Merkstelle kurz stoppen (die PLAY/PAUSE (11)-LED wird glimmen), und dann drehen Sie das JOG WHEEL (21), um Rahmen um Rahmen zu scannen (1/75tel einer Sekunde), bis Sie an die Stelle gelangen, wo das Abspielen beginnen soll (die CUE/PREVIEW (12)-LED wird während des Scannens glimmen). Drücken Sie die PLAY/PAUSE (11)-Taste, um die neue Merkstelle zu sichern.

HINWEIS: WÄHREND DER FEINSTIMMUNG ENTSTEHT EIN STUTTER-EFFEKT (UM IHNEN ZU

HELFEN, DEN TAKT ZU FINDEN). DER STUTTER-EFFEKT WIRD ENDEN, WENN SIE DIE PLAY/P AUSE-TASTE (1 1) DRÜCKEN, UM DIE NEUE MERKSTELLE ZU SICHERN.

ROBO START-ANWEISUNGEN:

IM SINGLE-AUTO CUE-MODUS:

Benutzen Sie ROBO ST ART (29) im SINGLE-AUTO CUE-Modus, um das Abspielen zwischen den zwei CD-Spielern des CFX-40 zu alternieren (eine Spur von der einen Seite und dann eine von der anderen Seite). Im SINGLE-AUTO CUE-Modus beginnt das Abspielen der Musik sofort und ohne Leerstellen. Mit ROBO START wird eine Seite des CD-Spielers abgepielt, wenn die andere Seite angehalten

1. Den SINGLE-AUTO CUE-Modus durch Drücken der SINGLE-AUTO CUE/CONTINOUS (16)-Taste einschalten.

2. Die ROBO START (29)-Taste drücken, im ROBO START zu aktivieren. Der Abspielvorgang wird zwischen den beiden CD-Spielern alternieren. Am Ende eine Spur wird die gespielte Seite anhalten, und der andere CD-Spieler wird eine Spur spielen. Am Ende dieser Spur wird die gespielte Seite anhalten, und der erste CD-Spieler fängt wieder an zu spielen.

IM KONTINUIERLICHEN MODUS ODER BEI NORMALEM ABSPIELEN:

Wenn Sie ROBO ST ART ohne SINGLE-AUTO CUE MODUS (im CONTINUOUS MODUS oder bei normalem Abspielen) benutzen, wird

das Abspielen nicht automatisch von der einen Seite zur anderen wechseln. Wenn Sie die Pause-Taste auf der anderen Spielseite drücken, wird die andere Seite abgespielt.

1. Bei normalem Abspielen setzen Sie eine Merkstellen auf der anderen Seite des CD-S pielers.

2. Die ROBO START (29)-Taste drücken, um ROBO START zu aktivieren (die Taste wird glimmen).

3. Die PLAY/PAUSE (11)-Taste an der abspielenden Seite drücken, um das Abspielen von der Merkstelle auf der anderen Seite zu beginnen.

HINWEIS: DAS MOMENT ANES STOPPEN DER ABSPIELSEITE MITTEN IN DER SPUR WIRD DAZU

FÜHREN, DASS DIE ANDERE SEITE GESPIEL T WIRD. WENN DIE SPUR ENDET , WIRD DAS ABSPIELEN VON DER MITTE DER ANDEREN SPUR BEGINNEN, WO DAS ABSPIELEN DER MUSIK MOMENT AN GESTOPPT WURDE.

PGM:

PROGRAMM:

Zuerst wahlen Sie entweder DISC 1 oder 2, und drucken Sie STOP (8) zur Ruckstellung jenes vorigen Programms auf der Seite die gewahlt wurde. Danach drucken Sie entweder auf A oder B (30) um DISC 1 oder 2 zu wahlen. Danach drucken Sie auf PGM (37) fur PROGRAMM Modus, (das PGM LED wird blinken in der grunen Farbe). Selektieren Sie die TITELNUMMER mit dem NUMMERTASTATUR und SET (30) danach selektieren Sie einen Titel fur diesen Steckplatz. Machen Sie weiter und drucken Sie auf PGM (30) und selektieren Sie Titel, bis es mit die Gesamtzahl von Titeln gefullt wird. Danach drucken Sie auf PLAY/ PAUSE (11) um das Programm auf zu starten (das PGM LED wird stabil grun sein). Um das PROGRAMM zu verlassen, drucken Sie auf die STOP (8) Taste. Der SINGLE (16) AUTO CUE Modus das gebraucht wird, wie ANDAUERND oder EINFACH Modus wird die Abspielsweise der Titel bestimmen, ROBO ST ART wird nicht beeinflusst sein vom PROGRAMING.

DIRECT SELECT :

Um einen TRACK DIREKT ZU SELEKTIEREN, einfachen drucken auf die TITELNUMMER, danach SET (30) gefolgt vom PLAY/PAUSE (11) um die letzte Selektion ABZUSPIELEN.

FEHLERSUCHE:

• Wenn eine CD nicht spielt, nachprüfen, ob die CD richtig eingelegt wurde (mit der beschrifteten Seite nach oben). Auch auf Verunreinigung, Kratzer usw. überprüfen.

• Wenn die CD sich dreht, aber kein Ton zu hören ist, die Kabelanschlüsse überprüfen. Wenn diese in Ordnung sind, den Verstärker bzw. das Empfangsgerät überprüfen.

• Wenn die CD springt, ist sie auf Schmutz oder Kratzer zu überprüfen. Man darf nicht sofort annehmen, daß der CD-Spieler defekt ist. Viele CDs werden nicht spezifikationsgemäß aufgezeichnet und springen auf den meisten oder allen CD-Spielern. Bevor Sie das Gerät zur Reparatur einsenden, versuchen Sie, eine CD abzuspielen, von der Sie sicher sind, daß sie richtig spielt.

Felicitaciones con su compra del doble lector CFX-40 de Gemini. Este aparato muy moderno está apoyado por una garantía de tres años, excepto los lasers. Garantía de un año sobre los lasers de lectura. Antes de su uso, le recomendamos que lea cuidadosamente todas las instrucciones.

NOTA IMPORTANTE:

Puesto que le CFX-40 es un doble lector CD, la mayoría de las funciones y losmandos se duplican en ambos lados del aparato. Para eliminar la confusión y para facilitar la comprensión de los dibujos, solamente numerar las funciones y los del lado izquierdo.

SELECCION DE LA TENSION DEL SECTOR:

El modelo CFX-40 es un aparato de doble tensión. Funcionará en 115 ó 230 voltios. Para establecer la tensión correcta, haga lo siguiente:

1. Coloque la cabeza de un atornillador en el centro del SELECTOR DE TENSION (1) que se encuentra en el panel trasero.

2. Deslice el selector hacia la izquierda para 115 voltios o a la derecha para 230 voltios.

3. No fuerce ni tuerza el selector. Una fuerza excesiva lo puede dañar. Si el selector no se mueve fácilmente, póngase en contacto con un técnico homologado.

CONEXIONES;

1. Con los cables suministrados, enfiche una extremidad en el conector REMOTE CONTROL-TELEMANDO (3) en el lado 2 y la otra extremidad en el conector MAIN UNIT-APARATO PRINCIPAL (3) también en el lado

2. Enfiche una extremidad de un juego de conectores RCA

(suministrados) en cada uno de los jacks de LINE OUTPUT (4).

3. Enfiche la otra extremidad de los conectores RCA en

cualquier jack de entrada de línea disponible de su mezclador. Si el

CFX-40 se conecta por un receptor, se puede enfichar los conectores RCA en los jack de entrada CD o AUX de su receptor. Si no hay entradas CD o AUX, utilice cualquier entrada de línea (fono no).

DESCRIPCIONES FUNCIONALES:

ANTI-SHOCK BUFFER MEMORY: Con 12 segundos de MEMORIA DE AMORTIGUACION P ARACHOQUE, cada lado del lector DC memoriza 6

segundos de lectura futura para asegurar de que ningun movimiento brusco o choque del aparato interrumpa la lectura y para asegurar un funcionamiento suave y continuo.

NOTE: VEASE LA SECCION DE CONEXION PARA EL REMOTE CONTROL (3) & LINE OUTPUT JACKS (4).

POWER (ENERGÍA): Después de cerciorarse de que el VOLTAGE

SELECTOR (1), colocado en el panel trasero, esté bien puesto, enfiche el aparato y apriete el pulsador POWER (6). El aparato se activa. El hecho de apretar el pulsador POWER (6) por segunda vez, lo apaga.

DISC TRAY (BANDEJA DE DISCO): El DISC TRAY (7) es donde el disco compacto se encuertra durante el cargamento, el descargamento y la lectura. El hecho de apretar el pulsador STOP (8) de la bandeja la abrirá o la cerrará. La DISC TRAY (7) recibe discos de 12 cms o de 8 cms. Observe por favor que si el CFX-40 se encuentra en la modalidad de lectura, la bandeja no se abre.

NOTA: NO FUERCE LA BANDEJA DEL DISCO, FUERZA EXCESIV A PUEDE DAÑAR EL CD-MECHANISM.

STOP: Oprima el pulsador STOP (8) para parar (STOP) un CD en la

modalidad PLA Y y también para cargar o remover la bandeja DISC TRAY (7).

NOTA: EL BOTÓN DE LA P ARADA (8) FUNCIONA SOLAMENTE COMO P ARADA Y EXPULSA EN EL

MANDO A DISTANCIA.

DISPLAY (PANTALLA): El DISPLAY (9) muestra el número de la pista, el

valor de la altura tonal, el single-auto cue, continuación (para la lectura continua) y 3 pantallas de tiempo diferentes. Estas pantallas de tiempo son el tiempo transcurrido en la pista, el tiempo restante en el disco y el tiempo restante en la pista. El tiempo se mide en minutos, segundos y tramos. También muestra los batidos por minuto de la pista.

PLAYBACK DISPLAY BAR: La barra PLAYBACK DISPLAY BAR (10) indica el tiempo escurrido y remanente para cada pista. La pantalla parpadea lentamente cuando se quedan 15 segundos en la pista y parpadea rápidamente cuando se quedan 5 segundos.

PLAY/PAUSE (LECTURA/PAUSA): Cada vez que se apriete el pulsador PLAY/PAUSE (11) produce un cambio en el funcionamiento de

lectura a pausa o de pausa a lectura. CUE/PREVIEW (PUNTO DE REFERENCIA): Con el aparato en la

modalidad de reproducción y después de haber memorizado el punto de referencia, el hecho de apretar el pulsador CUE/PREVIEW (12) hará pasar el tocador CD a la modalidad de pausa en el punto de referencia memorizado. Si Ud saca el edo del pulsador CUE/PREVIEW (12), le lleva de nuevo al punto CUE/PREVIEW (13) preestablecido.

TRACK (SALTO DE PISTA): Los pulsadores TRACK (13) le permite seleccionar la pista que quiera escuchar.

SEARCH (BUSCAR): Los pulsadores SEARCH (14) se usan para ir en adelante o atrás durante la modalidad de lectura o de pausa. Véase la INSTRUCCIONES DEL PUNTO DE REFERENCIA para más informaciones.

TIME (TIEMPO): El pulsador TIME (15) hace cambiar la pantalla temporal entre las tres selecciones disponibles enumeradas bajo DISPLAY (10).

SINGLE: El hecho de apretar el pulsador SINGLE (16) activa la función AUTO CUE. Esta función hace pausar el aparato al principio de la

música de la pista siguiente y le permite empezar la música inmediatamente desde el principio de la música sin espacio blanco (que existe al principio de cada pista). El hecho de apretar el pulsador SINGLE (16) por segunda vez activa la función CONTINUA lo que produce una lectura continua (después de la última pista, el aparato pasa a la primera pista del disco y sigue tocando). El hecho de apretar el pulsador SINGLE (16) por tercera vez, apaga la función CONTINUA.

FLY CUE: La función FLY CUE (17) le permite introducir rápidamente puntos de referencia al apretar un botón. Apriete FLY CUE (17) en el punto donde a Ud le gusta introducir el punto de referencia (el aparato continúa reproduciendo). Ahora el punto de referencia está memorizado. Apriete el botón CUE/PREVIEW (12) para volver al punto de referencia memorizado. Aprieta el botón PLAY/PAUSE (11) y el aparato comenzará inmediatamente la reproducción desde el sitio seleccionado.

CUE-B/EXIT : Después de memorizar un punto de referencia, el hecho de apretar el pulsador CUE-B/EXIT (18) repite la acción entre el punto de referencia y el punto donde se apretó el pulsador CUE-B/EXIT (18). Apriete el pulsador CUE-B/EXIT (18) otra vez o ponga en aparato en Pausa para salir de la lectura repetida.

RELOOP/STUTTER: RELOOP/STUTTER (19), se utiliza esta función para la reproducción repetida (stutter) desde el punto de referencia, repitiendo un bucle establecido anteriormente. La función RELOOP vuelve la música automáticamente al punto de referencia y hará reproducir el bucle hasta que se libere con el pulsador CUE-B/EXIT (18). La reproducción del disco compacto empieza inmediatamente desde los puntos de referencia establecidos anteriormente.

MEMO (CUE 1-3): El aparato CFX-40 le permite establecir hasta 3

PUNTOS DE REFERENCIA diferentes con los pulsadores CUE 1-3 (20). Para establecer cada punto de referencia individual, apriete el MEMO (20) y después el pulsador de referencia CUE 1-3 (20). Se puede establecer hasta 3 puntos de referencia. Mientras que se reproduce la música, si a Ud le gusta saltar a uno de estos puntos de referencia, apriete simplemente el pulsador de referencia individual CUE 1-3 (20) y la música saltará hasta tal punto.

JOG WHEEL: Utilice la rueda JOG WHEEL (21) para hacer ajustes precisos en la modalidad PAUSA/PAUSE (11) cuando se establece un CUE POINT. Utilice la rueda JOG WHEEL (21) para adaptar el PITCH para la sincronización en la modalidad PLAY. En la modalidad VINYL, utilice la rueda para SCRATCH la música. será bloqueado.

EFFECTS (FILTER, ZOOM, TRANS, ECHO): EFFECTS (FILTER, ZOOM, TRANS, y ECHO): Oprima uno de los cuatro pulsadores EFFECTS (23): (FILTER, ZOOM, TRANS, o ECHO) para utilizar este EFECTO y después gire la rueda JOG WHEEL (21) para arreglar los parametros del efecto seleccionado. Utilice los pulsadores EFFECTS (23) para activar (ON) y desactivar (OFF) los efectos.

TIEMPO MAESTRO: El pulsador TIEMPO MAESTRO (24) este mando mantiene la altura tonal de la música hasta cuando se cambie el tiempo. Se puede variar el batido sin cambios en el tono vocal o instrumental.

PITCH BEND (AJUSTE DE LA ALTURA TONAL): El hecho de apretar los pulsadores PITCH BEND (25) automáticamente alzará la altura por hasta 4% o atenuará la altura hasta 4%. El hecho de soltar los pulsadores regresará la altura tonal a su valor original. Se puede utilizar esta función para hacer corresponder el ajuste de la altura tonal de una canción a otra.

PITCH (TONO): El hecho de apretar el pulsador PITCH (26) activa el PITCH CONTROL SLIDE (28) CONTROL DE ALTURA TONAL. La

altura del disco compacto cambiará según la posición del PITCH

CONTROL SLIDE (28). PITCH SELECT (4%, 12%, 24%, & 100%): Utilice el pulsador PITCH

SELECT (27) para atribuir el porcentage TONO - PITCH que tendrá el PITCH CONTROL SLIDE (28). El pulsador de 4% atribuirá +/-4% al

mando del tono. El pulsador de 12% atribuirá +/-12% al mando del tono. El pulsador de 24% atribuirá +/-24% al mando del tono. Oprima y mantenga el dedo en PITCH SELECT (27) para lograr 100% PITCH. El pulsador PITCH (26) debe estar ACTIVADO (ON) para que funcione el pulsador de 4%, 12% y 24% del PITCH SELECT (34).

PITCH CONTROL SLIDE (CONTROL DE ALTURA TONAL): La altura del disco compacto cambiará según la posición del PITCH CONTROL SLIDE (28).

ROBO START: Apriete el pulsador ROBO START (29) para activar la función ROBO START (29) (el pulsador parpadea). Utilice ROBO START (29) en la MODALIDAD SINGLE-AUTO CUE para alternar entre los dos lados del reproductor de discos compactos (una pista de un lado, después una pista del otro lado). Véase las instrucciones ROBO START para más instrucciones.

PGM (PROGRAM): Utilice la sección PGM (30) para la SELECCION DIRECTA o para crear un PROGRAMA DE PISTA. Véase la sección PGM para obtener instrucciones detalladas.

JOG WHEEL (21) ajustará

FUNCIONAMIENTO:

1. Cerciórese de que el SELECTOR DE TENSION (1) que se encuentra en el panel trasero, ocupe la tensión correcta. Enfiche el aparato y apriete el pulsador POWER (6). El aparato se prende. El hecho de apretar el pulsador POWER (6) otra vez, lo apagará.

2. Apriete el pulsador STOP (8), coloque un disco compacto en la BANDEJA DE DISCO (7) y apriete el pulsador STOP (8) otra vez. La bandeja entra dentro del aparato.

3. Aprieta los pulsadores TRACK (14) para seleccionar la pista que quiere reproducir.

4. Apriete el pulsador PLAY/PAUSE (11) y el aparato reproducirá inmediatamente.

EFECTOS:

Oprima uno de los cuatro pulsadores EFFECTS (23) : (FILTER, ZOOM, P AN, TRANS, o ECHO) para utilizar un EFECTO. El efecto FILTER le

permite cambiar la frecuencia de cortar del sonido reproducido. Esto le permite al DJ extraer y reproducir ciertas partes del sonido reproducido. El efecto ZOOM cambia el tiempo de retraso por el hecho de mezclar un breve retraso con el sonido reproducido. Esta función le permite reproducir el sonido de un motor de avión o el efecto « flanger » con un solo lector CD. PAN simplemente panoramiza el sonido de la izquierda hacia la derecha. PAN cambia en velocidad según los ajustes de los parametros. TRANS corta la señal audio en ciclos lo que causa un efecto de tartamudeo; la longitud del sonido de entrada reducirá en virtud del aumento del parametro. ECHO repite la música y producirá una reverberación con altos parametros. La rueda JOG WHEEL (21) controla los parametros de los EFECTOS. El hecho de girar la rueda JOG WHEEL (21) hacia la derecha y la izquierda AUMENT ARA y REDUCIRA los PARAMETROS de un EFECTO. Para desactivar (OFF) un efecto, oprima otra vez el pulsador EFECTO activado (ON).

FL Y CUE:

Siga las instrucciones para utilizar FLY CUE (17) para establecer un FL Y CUE POINT y un SEAMLESS LOOP:

1. Cuando una pista se encuentra en la modalidad PLAY, oprima FLY CUE (17) en el lugar donde quiere que se encuentre el CUE POINT;

(FLY CUE (17) se pondrá a parpadear en verde y CUE/PREVIEW (11) parpadeará en azul) durante la lectura del CD. Ahora que un CUE POINT ha sido memorizado, oprima el pulsador CUE/PREVIEW (11) para volver al FLY CUE POINT en cualquier momento. Oprima el pulsador PLAY/PAUSE (11), y el aparato empezará a reproducir inmediatamente a partir del punto CUE POINT seleccionado.

2. Para crear un SEAMLESS LOOP, oprima FLY CUE (17) para memorizar un punto CUE POINT. Utilizando el CUE POINT, anteriormente seleccionado, oprima el pulsador CUE-B/EXIT (18) para activar un punto de salida - EXIT POINT y para empezar el LOOP, (los pulsadores FLY CUE (17) y CUE-B/EXIT (18) juntos van a parpadear en verde). Oprima CUE-B/EXIT (18) para SALIR-EXIT del LOOP en cualquier momento, y oprima RELOOP STUTTER (19) para activar el LOOP.

MEMO CUE:

Otra manera fácil para establecer los CUE POINTS es mediante el MEMO (CUE 1-3) (23). Se puede memorizar hasta 3 CUE POINTS de

cualquier pista dentro de un CD. Simplemente oprima MEMO (23), y seleccione después 1 de los 3 CUE POINTS (CUE 1-3) para establecer un CUE POINT. Una vez que se establezca un MEMO CUE POINT, se puede volver a este CUE al oprimirlo otra vez. Si el CD está tocando, lo hará desde el CUE POINT; asi si el CD está pausado, el CUE POINT también estará pausado. Los MEMO POINTS se memorizan hasta que el CD se descargue del lector de CD.

NOTA: LAS SEÑALES DE LA NOT A SE PUEDEN T AMBIÉN FIJAR EN MODO DE LA P AUSA USANDO

PLA Y CUE

1. Para memorizar el lugar donde quiere empezar la reproducción, seleccione la pista deseada y después apriete el pulsador PLAY/PAUSE (11); ahora el aparato pasa a la modalidad de reproducción (el LED de PLAY/PAUSE (11) se prende y es verde). Escuche el disco compacto y cuando el disco se acerca del lugar aproximado, apriete PLA Y/PAUSE (11); ahora el aparato pasa a la modalidad de pausa (el LED de PLAY/PAUSE (11) es verde y parpadea). Desplace la RUEDA JOG (21) al lugar exacto de donde quiere que empiece la música y apriete el pulsador PLA Y/PAUSE (11) para memorizar el punto de referencia. Apriete el pulsador PLAY/PAUSE (11) y el aparato comenzará a reproducir instantáneamente desde el lugar seleccionado.

2. Para sincronizar un punto de referencia con precisión, ponga la reproducción en PAUSA en el punto de referencia memorizado (el LED de referencia se prenderá y el LED PLAY/PAUSE (11) parpadea). Después, utilice el JOG WHEEL (21) para escanear tramo por tramo (1/ 75 de un segundo) hasta donde Ud quiere que empiece la reproducción). Apriete PLAY/PAUSE (11) para memorizar el nuevo punto de referencia.

NOTA: DURANTE EL AJUSTE FINO, HABRÁ UN EFECTO DE PER TURBACIÓN (PARA AYUDARLE A

ENCONTRAR EL RITMO). ESTE EFECTO SE TERMINA CUANDO APRIETE PLA Y/ P AUSE (11) P ARA MEMORIZAR EL PUNTO DE REFERENCIA.

ROBO START:

EN LA MODALIDAD SINGLE-AUTO CUE:

Utilice el ROBO START (29) en la modalidad SINGLE-AUTO CUE para alternar la reproducción entre los dos lectores DC del CFX-40 (una pista de un lado, después una del otro lado). En la modalidad SINGLE-AUTO

CUE, la reproducción empieza sin espacio blanco o muerto. El ROBO START causa la reproducción de un lado del lector de DC cuando el

otro lado está en “pausa”.

1. Enganche la modalidad SINGLE-AUTO CUE con el pulsador SINGLE (16).

2. Apriete el pulsador ROBO START (29) para activar la función ROBO START. La reproducción alternará entre los dos lectores DC. Al final de una pista, el lado de reproducción se pone en pausa y el otro lector DC reproduce una pista. Al final de esta pista, el lado de reproducción se pone en pausa y el primer lector DC se mete a reproducir otra vez.

EN MODALIDAD CONTINUA O DURANTE LA REPRODUCCION NORMAL:

Si se usa ROBO ST ART sin modalidad SINGLE-AUT O CUE (en la modalidad CONTINUA o durante la reproducción normal), la reproducción no alternará automáticamente. Apretando Pausa en el lado de reproducción hará reproducir el otro lado.

1. Durante la reproducción normal, coloque un punto de referencia en el otro lado de reproductor de discos compactos.

2. Apriete el pulsador ROBO START (29) para activar la función ROBO START (el pulsador parpadea).

3. Apriete el pulsador PLAY/PAUSE (11) en el lado reproducido para empezar la reproducción desde el punto de referencia en el otro lado.

NOTA: PAUSANDO EL LADO DE REPRODUCCIÓN EN LA MITAD DE UNA PISTA CAUSARÁ LA

REPRODUCCIÓN del OTRO LADO. CUANDO SE TERMINE ESTA PISTA, LA REPRODUCCIÓN EMPEZARÁ DESDE LA MIT AD DE LA PIST A DONDE SE PAUSÓ LA REPRODUCCIÓN.

PROGRAMA:

Escoja primero el DISC 1 o 2, y oprima STOP (8) para reestablecer cualquier programa anterior en el lado escogido. Ahora, oprima A o B (30) para seleccionar DISC 1 o 2. Después, oprima PGM (30) para la modalidad PROGRAMA, (el LED PGM empezará a parpadear en verde). Seleccione el número de la pista - TRACK NUMBER con el NUMBER PAD y SET (30) después para seleccionar una pista. Continúe oprimiendo PGM (30) y seleccione pistas, hasta que esté lleno con el número total de pistas. Ahora, oprima PLAY/PAUSE (11) para arrancar el programa (el LED PGM del estará verde). Para quitar el PROGRAM, oprima el pulsador STOP (8) . La modalidad

SINGLE (16) AUTO CUE utilizada, tales como las modalidades CONTINUA - CONTINUOUS o UNICA - SINGLE afectarán la manera

de reproducción de las pistas; ROBO START no estará afectado por la PROGRAMACION - PROGRAMMING.

SELECCION DIRECT A:

Para SELECCIONAR DIRECTAMENTE una PISTA, es suficiente oprimir el NUMERO DE LA PISTA, después SET (30) seguido por

PLA Y/PAUSE (11) para REPRODUCIR - PLAY la última selección.

SOLUCION DE PROBLEMAS:

• Si el disco no reproduce, verifique si el disco ha sido cargado correctamente (etiqueta hacia arriba). Verifique también si el disco contiene un exceso de suciedad, rascaduras, etc.

• Si le disco gira pero no se oye nada, verifique la conexión de los cables. Si todo está en orden, verifique el amplificador o el receptor.

• Si salta el disco compacto, verifique el disco (suciedad o rascaduras). No suponga que el reproductor tiene defecto. Muchos discos compactos se registran fuera de las especificaciones y saltarán en la mayoría o en todos los reproductores. Antes de mandar el aparato para reparación, trate de reproducir un disco del cual se sabe que es perfecto.

garantie de trois ans, à l’exclusion des lasers. Garantie de un an sur les lasers DC. Avant son emploi, nous vous recommandons de lire soigneusement toutes les instructions.

ATTENTION:

N’utilisez pas cet appareil à des températures en-dessous de 5° C/41° F ou au-dessus de 35° C/95° F. L’appareil ne doit pas être exposé à l’égouttement ou aux éclaboussures; aucun objet rempli de liquide telle qu’une vase ne devrait être placé sur celui-ci. Placez l’appareil dans un lieu propre et sec. Ne mettez pas l’appareil dans un lieu instable. Lorsque vous retirez le cordon d’une prise c.a. du secteur, prenez-le toujours par la fiche. OBSERVATION IMPORTANTE:

Etant donné que le CFX-40 est un double lecteur de DC, la plupart des fonctions et commandes se répètent sur les deux côtés de l’appareil. Pour éliminer toute confusion et pour faciliter la compréhension des dessins, uniquement les fonctions et les commandes du côté gauche seront numérotées.

SELECTION DE LA TENSION DE SECTEUR:

Le modèle CFX-40 est un appareil à deux tensions. Il marchera sur 115 ou 230 volts. Pour choisir la tension correcte, faites ce qui suit:

1. Placez la tête d’un tournevis au centre du VOLTAGE SELECTOR (1)- SELECTEUR DE TENSION sur le panneau arrière.

2. Glissez le sélecteur à gauche pour 115 volts ou à droite pour 230 volts.

3. Ne forcez et ne tordez pas le sélecteur. Une force excessive risque de l’abîmer. Si le sélecteur ne se déplace pas bien, contactez un technicien qualifié.

BRANCHEMENTS:

1. Branchez la fiche électrique à l’ AC IN (2) pour la mise sous tension.

2. Par l’intermédiaire des câbles inclus, enfichez une extrémité dans le connecteur du REMOTE CONTROL (3) - COMMANDE A DISTANCE sur le côté 2 et l’autre extrémité dans le connecteur du MAIN UNIT (3) - APPAREIL PRINCIP AL également sur le côté 2. Répétez sur le côté 1.

OBSERVA TION IMPORTANTE: VOUS DEVEZ BRANCHER LE COTE 1 SUR LA COMMANDE A

DISTANCE DU COTE 1 DE L ’APP AREIL PRINCIP AL ET LE COTE 2 SUR LA COMMANDE A DISTANCE DU COTE 2 DE L ’APP AREIL PRINCIPAL. SI VOUS LES CROISEZ (P AR EXEMPLE, LA COMMANDE À DISTANCE SUR LE CÔTÉ SUR L ’APP AREIL PRINCIP AL SUR LE CÔTÉ 2), LE CFX50 NE MARCHERA P AS.

3. Enfichez une extrémité d’un jeu de connecteurs RCA (fournis) dans chacun des jacks de LINE OUTPUT (4)-SORTIE SECTEUR .

4. Enfichez l’autre extrémité des connecteurs RCA dans tout

jack de secteur disponible sur votre mélangeur. Si vous connectez le CFX-40 à travers un récepteur, vous pouvez brancher les connecteurs RCA dans les jacks d’entrée CD ou AUX sur votre récepteur. S’il n’y a pas d’entrées CD ou AUX , utilisez n’importe quelles entrées de secteur (pas phono).

5. Branchez n’importe quel dispositif qui acceptera un signal NUMÉRIQUE tel que DA T, MD, HARDDRIVE, ETC. à l’entrée COAXIAL (5) Osur le panneau arrière du transport pour enregistrer le signal NUMÉRIQUE.

DESCRIPTIONS FONCTIONNELLES:

ANTI-SHOCK BUFFER MEMORY: Ayant 12 secondes de mémoire tampon anti-choc, chaque côté du lecteur DC mémorise 6 secondes de lecture future pour assurer que tout movement brusque de l’appareil n’interrompera pas la musique.

NOTE: VOIR LA SECTION BRANCHEMENT POUR REMOTE CONTROL (3) & LINE OUTPUT JACKS (4).

POWER: Après avoir vérifié que le VOLTAGE SELECTOR (1) sur le

panneau arrière est convenablement positionné, enfichez l’appareil et appuyez sur la touche POWER-PUISSANCE (6). L’appareil se mettra en marche. Si vous pressez cette touche une seconde fois, l’appareil s’éteindra.

DISC TRAY (PLATEAU A DISQUE): Le DISC TRAY (7) contient le disque durant le chargement, le déchargement et la lecture. Lorsque vous pressez la touche STOP (8) du plateau, ce dernier s’ouvrira ou se fermera. Le DISC TRAY (7) peut contenir des disques de 12 cm et de 8 cm. Veuillez notez que le plateau ne s’ouvrira pas si le CFX-40 se trouve en lecture.

NOTE : NE FORCEZ PAS LE PLATEAU DE DISQUE, FORCE EXCESSIVE PEUT ENDOMMAGER

LE CD-MECHANISM.

STOP: Appuyez sur la touche STOP (8) pour arrêter un CD dans la

modalité PLAY et pour charger ou enlever un CD du DISC TRAY (7).

NOTE : LE BOUTON DE L’ARRÊT (8) FONCTIONNE SEULEMENT COMME ARRÊT ET ÉJECTE

SUR LA TÉLÉCOMMANDE.

DISPLAY (ECRAN): Le DISPLA Y (9 ) montre le numéro de la piste, la hauteur

du son, la référence single-auto cue, continue (pour une lecture continue) et 3 affichages de temps différents. Ces derniers sont le temps écoulé sur la piste, le temps restant sur le disque et le temps restant sur la piste. Le temps est mesuré en minutes, secondes et trames. Il montre également le nombre de battements par minute de la piste.

PLAYBACK DISPLAY BAR: La PLAYBACK DISPLAY BAR (10) affiche le temps parcouru et restant pour chaque piste. L’affichage clignote lentement lorsqu’il reste 15 secondes sur la piste et clignote rapidement lorsqu’il reste 5 secondes de reproduction.

PLA Y/PAUSE (LECTURE/PAUSE): Chaque appui sur la touche PLA Y/PAUSE (11) produit un changement de l’opération de lecture à pause ou de pause à lecture.

CUE/PREVIEW: L ’app areil étant en mode lecture et après avoir mémorisé le point d’insertion (cue), le fait d’appuyer sur la touche CUE/PREVIEW (12) (touche d’insertion) fera entrer le lecteur CD en mode pause au point d’insertion mémorisé. Le fait de tenir le doigt sur la touche CUE/PREVIEW (12) change la fonction CUE/PREVIEW (12) en PREVIEW (ce qui vous permettra d’écouter la musique au rythme que vous avez réglé en tenant le doigt sur la touche CUE). La libération de la touche Cue vous renvoie au point Cue préréglé.

TRACK: Les touches TRACK (13) vous permettent de choisir la piste à écouter. SEARCH (RECHERCHE): Les touches SEARCH (14) s’utilisent

pour aller en avant ou en arrière dans le mode lecture ou pause. Voir la section sur INSTRUCTIONS CUE pour de plus amples informations.

TIME (TEMPS): La touche TIME (15) fait commuter l’affichage du temps entre trois choix disponibles énumérés sous DISPLAY (10).

SINGLE: Le fait de presser la touche SINGLE (16) active la fonction AUTO CUE. Cette fonction met l’appareil en pause au début de la lecture de la

piste suivante et vous permet de commencer la lecture immédiatement du début de la musique sans espace blanc (qui existe au début de chaque piste). Le fait de presser la touche SINGLE (16) une seconde fois active la fonction CONTINUOUS ce qui fait jouer l’appareil en continu (après la dernière piste, l’appareil reviendra sur la première piste du disque et continuera à jouer). Si vous pressez la touche SINGLE (16) une troisième fois désactivera la fonction CONTINUOUS.

FLY CUE: La fonction FLY CUE (17) vous permet d’établir des points de référence à l’instant même avec une pression de la touche. En ayant l’appareil en mode de lecture (la LED lecture/pause est verte), pressez FLY CUE (17) au point où vous voulez établir le point de référence (l’appareil poursuivra la lecture). Maintenant le point de référence est mémorisé. Pressez la touche CUE/PREVIEW (12) pour revenir au point de référence mémorisée. Pressez la touche PLAY/PAUSE (11) et l’appareil commencera à jouer à partir du l’endroit choisi.

CUE-B/EXIT: Après avoir mémorisé un point de référence, le fait de presser la touche CUE-B/EXIT (18) dans le mode de lecture, répète la partie entre le point de référence et le point où la touche CUE-B/EXIT (19) a été pressée. Pressez la touche CUE-B/EXIT (18) de nouveau ou mettez la lecture sur pause pour QUITTER la lecture répétée.

RELOOP/STUTTER: RELOOP/STUTTER (19), Cette fonction s’utilise pour la reproduction répétée à partir du point de référence, en répétant une boucle établie antérieurement. La fonction “Reloop” ramène automatiquement la musique au point de référence et jouera la boucle jusqu’à sa libération avec la touche CUE-B/EXIT (19). Le disque compact commence à jouer immédiatement à partir des points de référence établis antérieurement.

MEMO (CUE 1-3): L’appareil CFX-40 vous permet d’établir jusqu’à 3 points de référence différents à l’aide des touches CUE 1-3 (20). Pour établir chaque point de référence individuel, appuyez sur la touche MEMO (20), puis sur une touche de référence CUE 1-5 (20). Vous pouvez établir un maximum de 3 points de référence. Lorsque la musique joue, et vous voulez qu’elle saute à un des points de référence, il suffit de presser cette touche de référence particulière CUE 1-5 (20) et la musique passera automatiquement à ce point.

JOG WHEEL: Utilisez la roue JOG WHEEL (21) pour réaliser des réglages

très précis dans la modalité PAUSE lorsque vous établissez un CUE POINT. Utilisez la roue JOG WHEEL (21) pour modifier le PITCH afin

d’obtenir un synchronisation précise dans la modalité PLAY. Dans la modalité VINYL, utilisez la roue pour SCRATCH (GRATTER) la musique. Si vous tournez la roue en avant et en arrière, la musique s’arrêtera et jouera lentement comme un plateau en vinyle. Lorsque la roue JOG WHEEL (21) s’arrête, la musique continuera.

JOG MODE: Appuyez sur JOG MODE (22) pour changer la modalité CD à la modalité VINYL. Quand en mode de VINYLE le paramètre d’EFFETS

sera verrouillé.

EFFECTS (FILTER, ZOOM, PAN, TRANS, ECHO): Appuyez sur un quelconque des quatre TOUCHES d’EFFETS – EFFECTS BUTTONS (21): FILTER, ZOOM, PAN, TRANS, ou ECHO pour utiliser cet effet ; ensuite, tournez la roue JOG WHEEL (21) pour régler les paramètres de l’EFFET choisi. Utilisez les touches EFFECTS (23) pour ACTIVER (ON) et DESACTIVER (OFF) les effets.

MASTER TEMPO: MASTER TEMPO (24) vous permet de maintenir la hauteur de la musique même si le rhythme change. Vous pouvez faire varier le battement sans changer la tonalité vocale ou instrumentale.

PITCH BEND BUTTONS: Le fait de presser les touches PITCH BEND (25) augmentera automatiquement la hauteur de son de jusqu’à 4% ou la réduira de 4%.

PITCH: Le fait de presser la touche PITCH (26) active le PITCH CONTROL – COMMANDE DE LA HAUTEUR (28). La hauteur de son du

D C changera selon la position de cette touche (15).

PITCH SELECT (4%, 12%, 24%, & 100%): Utilisez la touche PITCH SELECT (27) pour attribuer le pourcentage de TONALITE qu’aura le PITCH CONTROL SLIDE (28). La touche de 4% attribuera +/-4% à la

commande de la tonalité. La touche de 12% attibuera +/-12% à la commande de tonalité. La touche de 24% attribuera +/-24% à la commande de tonalité. Appuyez et gardez le doigt sur PITCH SELECT (27) pour obtenir 100% PITCH. La touche PITCH (26) doit être activée (ON) pour que la touche PITCH SELECT (34) 4%, 12% et 24% puisse fonctionner.

PITCH CONTROL SLIDE (GLISSIÈRE DE COMMANDE DE LANCEMENT):

Le relèvement de DIAPOSITIVE de PITCH CONTROL SLIDE (28) ou vers le bas abaissera ou soulèvera le pourcentage de lancement.

ROBO START: Pressez la touche ROBO START (29) pour activer cette fonction (la touche clignotera). Utilisez ROBO START (29) dans le MODE SINGLE-AUTO CUE pour alterner la lecture entre les deux côtés du lecteur DC (une piste d’un côté, puis une piste de l’autre côté). Voir les INSTRUCTIONS POUR ROBO ST ART pour de plus amples instructions.

PGM (PROGRAM): Utilisez la section PGM (30) pour le DIRECT SELECT – CHOIX DIRECT ou pour créer une TRACK PROGRAM (programme de piste). Voir la section PGM pour les instructions détaillées.

JOG WHEEL (21)

INSTRUCTIONS DE FONCTIONNEMENT:

1. Assurez-vous que le VOLTAGE SELECTOR (1) sur le panneau arrière, se trouve sur la tension correcte. Enfichez l’appareil et pressez la touche POWER (6). L’appareil se mettra en marche. Le fait de presser la touche POWER (6) une seconde fois, éteindra l’appareil.

2. Pressez la touche STOP (8), placez un disque compacte sur le PLATEAU A DISQUE (7) et pressez de nouveau la touche STOP (8). Le plateau entrera dans l’appareil.

3. Pressez les touches TRACK SKIP (14) pour choisir la piste que vous voulez écouter.

4. Pressez la touche PLAY/PAUSE (11) et l’appareil commencera à jouer immédiatement.

EFFETS:

Appuyez sur un quelconque des quatre touches EFFETS-EFFECTS (23): FIL TER, ZOOM, PAN, TRANS, ECHO pour utiliser un effet. L’effet FIL TER

vous permet de modifier la fréquence de coupure du son reproduit. Ainsi, le DJ pourra extraire et reproduire certaines parties du son reproduit. L’effet ZOOM change la durée de temporisation en mélangeant une brève temporisation avec le son reproduit. Cette fonction vous permet de produire le son d’un moteur d’avion ou d’un « flanger » à l’aide d’un seul lecteur de CD. PAN simplement panoramise le son de GAUCHE à DROITE. PAN change en vitesse selon les réglages paramétriques. TRANS coupe le signal audio en cycles ce qui cause un effet de bégaiement; la longueur du son d’entrée décroîtra par rapport à la croissance paramétrique. ECHO répète la musique et créera une réverbération avec des paramètres plus élevés. La roue JOG WHEEL (21) commande les PARAMETRES des EFFETS. Le fait de tourner la roue JOG

WHEEL (21) à gauche ou à droite fera ACCROITRE ou DECROITRE les P ARAMETRES des EFFETS. Pour désactiver l’EFFET , appuyez de nouveau sur la touche EFFET qui est activée.

CUES:

FL Y CUE:

Pour l’utilisation de FLY CUE (17) et pour établir un FLY CUE POINT et une SEAMLESS LOOP (BOUCLE SANS JOINT) , suivez les instructions ci-après:

1. Lorsqu’une piste se trouve dans la modalité REPRODUCTION - PLAY, appuyez sur FLY CUE (17) au point où vous voulez que le CUE POINT s’établisse; FLY CUE (17) commencera à clignoter en vert et CUE/ PREVIEW (12) clignotera en bleu, pendant la reproduction du CD. Maintenant qu’un CUE POINT est mémorisé, appuyez sur la touche CUE/ PREVIEW (12) pour retourner au FLY CUE POINT à n’importe quel moment. Appuyez sur la touche PLAY/PAUSE (11), et l’appareil commencera immédiatement à faire la lecture à partir du CUE POINT choisi.

2. Pour créer une SEAMLESS LOOP, appuyez sur FLY CUE (17) pour mémoriser un CUE POINT. Faisant emploi du CUE POINT antérieurement choisi, appuyez sur la touche CUE-B/EXIT (18) pour activer un EXIT POINT (point de sortie) et commencer la bouche LOOP, (les touches FLY CUE (17) et CUE-B/EXIT (18) clignoteront en vert). Appuyez sur CUE-B/EXIT (19) pour sortir (EXIT) de la boucle (LOOP) à tout moment, et appuyez sur RELOOP STUTTER (19) pour activer la boucle - LOOP.

PLA Y CUE:

1. Pour mémoriser le lieu où vous voulez commencer la musique, choisissez la piste désirée, puis pressez la touche PLAY/PAUSE (11) de sorte que l’appareil passe au mode de lecture (la LED de PLAY/PAUSE (11) est verte). Ecoutez le disque compacte et quand il s’approche du point approximatif, pressez PLAY/

P AUSE (11) de sorte que l’appareil passe au mode de pause (la LED de PLAY/ P AUSE (1 1) est verte mais clignote). Déplacez la JOG WHEEL (21) au lieu précis d’où vous voulez com mencer la musique et pressez la touche PLAY/ P AUSE (11) pour mémoriser le point de référence. Pressez la touche CUE/ PREVIEW (12) pour revenir au point de référence mémorisé. Pressez la

touche PLA Y/P AUSE (11) et l’appareil commencera à jouer immédiatement à partir du lieu choisi.

2. Pour ajuster un point de référence avec précision, pausez au point de référence mémorisé (la LED cue brillera et la LED de lecture/pause clignotera), puis utilisez le JOG WHEEL (21) pour balayer trame par trame (1/75 ème d’une seconde) jusqu’au point d’où vous voulez commencer la musique (la LED cue clignotera durant le balayage). Pressez PLAY/PAUSE (11) pour mémoriser le nouveau point de référence.

REMARQUE: DURANT LE RÉGLAGE DE PRÉCISION, IL Y AURA UN EFFET DE TONALITÉ

CADENCÉE (POUR VOUS AIDER À TROUVER LE RHYTHME). CET EFFET S’ARRÊTERA QUAND VOUS PRESSEZ PLA Y/PAUSE (1 1) POUR MÉMORISER LE POINT DE RÉFÉRENCE.

MEMO CUE:

Un autre moyen facil pour établir les CUE POINTS est offert par MEMO (CUE-1-3) (20). Vous pouvez mémoriser jusqu’à 3 CUE POINTS de

n’importe quelle piste d’un CD. Il suffit d’appuyer sur MEMO (20), puis de choisir 1 des 3 CUE POINTS (CUE 1-3) pour établir un CUE POINT. Lorsque vous établissez un MEMO CUE POINT, vous pouvez retourner à ce CUE en l’appuyant de nouveau. Si le CD joue, il commencera à partir du CUE POINT et si le CD est mis au repos (PAUSE), le CUE POINT sera mis au repos (PAUSE) également. Les MEMO POINTS sont mémorisés jusqu’à l’éjection du CD du lecteur de CD.

NOTE : LES SÉLECTIONS DE NOTE PEUVENT ÉGALEMENT ÊTRE PLACÉES EN MODE DE PAUSE À

L’AIDE DE LA ROUE D’ESSAI POUR LES POINTS PRÉCIS DE SÉLECTION.

INSTRUCTIONS POUR ROBO START:

EN MODE SINGLE-AUTO CUE:

Utilisez ROBO START (29) en MODE SINGLE-AUTO CUE pour alterner la reproduction entre les deux lecteurs de DC du CFX-40 (une piste d’un côté, puis l’autre de l’autre côté). Dans le Mode SINGLE-AUTO CUE, la reproduction commence immédiatement sans espace blanc ou “mort”. ROBO START cause la reproduction d’un côté du lecteur de DC tandis que l’autre est au repos.

1. Engagez le mode SINGLE-AUTO CUE avec la touche SINGLE (16).

2. Appuyez sur la touche ROBO START (29) pour activer ROBO START. La reproduction alternera entre les deux lecteurs de DC. A la fin d’une piste, le côté de reproduction se met au repos et le côté de reproduction se met en pause et le premier côté se remet à reproduire.

EN MODE CONTINU OU DURANT LA LECTURE NORMALE: Si vous utilisez ROBO START (29) sans SINGLE-AUTO CUE MODE (en MODE CONTINU ou durant la lecture normale), la lecture alternera automatiquement. Le fait de presser Pause sur le côté qui joue causera la lecture de l’autre côté.

1. Durant la lecture normale, mettez un point de référence sur l’autre côté du lecteur DC.

2. Pressez la touche ROBO START (29) pour activer la fonction ROBO START (29) (la touche clignotera).

3. Pressez la touche PLAY/PAUSE (11) sur le côté qui joue pour com mencer la lecture à partir du point de référence sur l’autre côté.

REMARQUE: LE FAIT DE P AUSER LE CÔTÉ DE LECTURE À MI-CHEMIN D’UNE PISTE CAUSE

LA LECTURE DE L’AUTRE CÔTÉ. QUAND LA PISTE SE TERMINE, LA LECTURE COMMENCERA À P ARTIR DU MI-CHEMIN DE LA PISTE OÙ LA LECTURE S’EST P AUSÉE.

PGM:

PROGRAMME:

Choisissez d’abord DISC 1 ou 2, et appuyez sur STOP (8) pour la remise d’un programme antérieur sur le côté choisi. Appuyez ensuite sur A ou B (30) pour choisir DISC 1 ou 2. Appuyez ensuite sur PGM (30) pour la modalité PROGRAM, (la LED PGM verte clignotera). Choisissez TRACK NUMBER (numéro de la piste) au moyen du clavier numérique et ensuite SET (30) pour choisir la piste. Continuez à appuyer sur PGM (30) et choisissez les pistes jusqu’à ce qu’il soit rempli du nombre total de pistes. Puis, appuyez sur PLAY/ P AUSE (11) pour commencer le programme (la LED PGM sera verte). Pour quitter le PROGRAMME, appuyez sur la touche STOP (8). La modalité

AUTO CUE SINGLE (16) qui s’utilise, tel que les modalités CONTINUES CONTINUOUS ou unique-SINGLE, affecteront la façon de reproduction des pistes; ROBO ST ART ne sera pas affecté p ar la programmation - PROGRAMMING.

SELECTION DIRECTE:

Pour la sélection directe d’une PISTE, il suffit d’appuyer sur TRACK NUMBER (numéro de piste), et ensuite SET (30) suivi de PLAY/ PAUSE (11) tpour reproduire la dernière sélection.

SOLUTION DES PANNES:

• Si le disque ne joue pas, vérifiez si le disque a été chargé convenablement (étiquette en haut). Vérifiez également si le disque ne contient pas trop de saletés, égratignures, etc.

• Si le disque tourne mais il n’y a pas de son, vérifiez le branchement des câbles. S’il n’y a rien d’anormal, contrôlez votre amplificateur ou récepteur.

• Si le disque compacte saute, contrôlez le disque pour la présence de saletés ou d’égratignures. Ne supposez pas que le lecteur DC est défectueux. De nombreux DC sont enregistrés en dehors des spécifications et ils sauteront sur la plupart ou sur tous les lecteurs DC. Avant d’envoyer l’appareil pour réparation, essayer de jouer un DC dont vous êtes certain qu’il joue convenablement.
