Smarter than your average speaker, free app available from the App Store:
■■ Use your iPhone or iPod touch to control the speaker wirelessly. To use this feature, dock a 2nd iPhone or iPod touch, ensure both devices are connected to Wi-Fi and select the control speaker feature in the SmartLink app.*
■■ Auto-tune and save your favourite stations. The app screen displays what you’re listening to.**
■■ Access your music library through the app and display your favourite album art.
N.B. App-enhanced features require GEAR4 SmartLink app for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS or iPod touch (2nd, 3rd and 4th generation only) with iOS 4.0 or higher. App screens correct at time of print.
*Please ensure that you ‘allow remote’ in the SmartLink settings menu from the 2nd docked iOS device.

Getting started:
■■ Plug the power cable into the back of the unit and then into the mains supply.
■■ Press the button on the speaker or the remote.
For use with iPod / iPhone:
■■ Carefully insert your iPod into the dock, the HouseParty 4-Evo will automatically switch into iPod mode.
■■ If your iPod is already in play mode it will immediately begin to play when docked, alternatively press the play button on the remote control.
■■ Use either the remote control or the buttons on the HouseParty 4-Evo to navigate the iPod functions.
For use with FM radio:
■■ Press MODE on the remote control or the M button on the speaker to select radio mode.
■■ Use the and buttons on the remote or the speaker to auto scan the frequency.

■■ To manually scan the frequencies, gently tap the and buttons.
For use with other audio devices:
■■ Press MODE on the remote control or the M button on the speaker to select AUX mode.
■■ Plug one end of a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) into your MP3 or MP4 player and connect the other end into the AUX in port at the back of the unit.
■■ Select the track and press play on your music source.
N.B. The remote will not control devices connected via 3.5mm cable.
EQ settings:
■■ Press EQ on the remote to scroll through the equalisers – JAZZ, POP, ROCK, CLASSIC, BASS and OFF.
■■ The default EQ mode is OFF. The speaker will revert to this when powered on and off.
■■ The speaker will use the last used EQ when switched on from standby.
To display the time:
■■ To check the time, when the speaker is on, press the clock button on the remote.

UNPACKING AND INSTALLATION
Unpack your unit carefully. We recommend that you save the packaging in case you ever need to store your unit. To avoid damage, never place the unit or its batteries near radiators, in front of heating vents, under direct sunlight or near water.
FOR YOUR SAFETY
‒‒When disconnecting the power supply, pull the plug first. Do not pull the cord by itself.
‒‒Never handle the power plug with wet hands, as this could cause fire or electric shock.
‒‒Refer servicing to qualified personnel only.
‒‒Do not open the housing.
‒‒Do not twist or pinch the power supply cord. If the plug or power supply cord needs to be replaced, ensure that it complies with the manufacturer’s recommendation.

Utilisation avec l’iPod / l’iPhone :
■■ Insérez soigneusement votre iPod dans le dock. Le système HouseParty 4-Evo passe automatiquement en mode iPod.
■■ Si votre iPod se trouve déjà en mode de lecture, il reproduit immédiatement la musique lorsqu’il est branché au dock. Dans le cas contraire, appuyez sur la touche de lecture de la télécommande.
■■ À l’aide de la télécommande ou des touches du système HouseParty 4-Evo, faites défiler les fonctions de l’iPod.
Utilisation de la radio FM :
■■ Appuyez sur la touche MODE de la télécommande ou sur la touche M des enceintes, pour sélectionner le mode radio.
■■ Pour faire défiler les fréquences automatiquement, utilisez les touches etde la télécommande ou des enceintes.
■■ Pour rechercher des fréquences manuellement, appuyez doucement sur les touches et .
Utilisation avec d’autres périphériques audio :
■■ Appuyez sur la touche MODE de la télécommande ou sur la touche M des enceintes, pour sélectionner le mode AUX.

■■ Branchez un câble audio de 3,5 mm dans votre lecteur MP3 ou MP4, et branchez l’autre extrémité dans la prise AUX au dos de l’unité (non fourni).
■■ Sélectionnez la piste à écouter et appuyez sur la touche de lecture de l’appareil.
Remarque : La télécommande ne contrôle pas les appareils connectés par l’intermédiaire du câble de 3,5 mm.
Réglages de correction :
■■ Appuyez sur la touche EQ de la télécommande pour parcourir les effets de correction : JAZZ, POP, ROCK, CLASSIC, BASS et OFF.
■■ Le mode de correction par défaut est OFF. Les enceintes reviennent à ce mode lorsqu’elles sont éteintes puis rallumées.
■■ Lorsqu’elles sont réactivées après une période de veille, elles reviennent au mode EQ dans lequel elles se trouvaient avant la mise en veille.
Pour afficher l’heure :
■■ Appuyez sur la touche Horloge de la télécommande pour consulter l’heure lorsque le haut-parleur est en marche.

DÉBALLAGE ET INSTALLATION
Déballer l’appareil avec soin. Nous recommandons de conserver l’emballage, pour tout stockage prolongé éventuel de l’appareil. Pour éviter tout endommagement, ne jamais placer l’appareil ou ses batteries près d’un radiateur, près d’une bouche d’aération, sur un rebord de fenêtre exposé au soleil ni près d’une source d’eau.

Erste Schritte:
■■ Stecken Sie das Wechselstromkabel in den Anschluss auf der Rückseite des Geräts und dann in den Netzanschluss.
■■ Drücken Sie die -Taste (Ein/Aus-Taste) auf dem Lautsprecher oder auf der Fernbedienung.
Verwendung mit einem iPod / iPhone:
■■ Stecken Sie den iPod vorsichtig in das Dock, und der HouseParty 4-Evo schaltet automatisch in den iPod-Modus.
■■ Wenn sich der iPod bereits im Wiedergabemodus befindet, startet die Wiedergabe, sobald der iPod im Dock steckt. Sie können jedoch auch die Wiedergabetaste auf der Fernbedienung drücken.
■■ Verwenden Sie entweder die Fernbedienung oder die Tasten auf dem HouseParty 4-Evo zum Steuern der iPod-Funktionen.
Verwendung mit FM-Radio:
■■ Drücken Sie die MODE-Taste auf der Fernbedienung oder die M-Taste auf dem Lautsprecher, um den Radio-Modus zu wählen.

ZU IHRER SICHERHEIT
‒‒Ziehen Sie zuerst den Netzstecker heraus, bevor Sie das Netzteil abtrennen. Ziehen Sie nicht am Kabel selbst.
