GUIDE FORM SPECIFICATIONS

WALLIGHTER 175 LUMINAIRE

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The totally enclosed, weather-resistant luminaire designated
_______ (identify) shall be a GE WALLIGHTER 175 luminaire, or­dering number _______ (specify W1LR, W1SR, W1LG or W1SG,
plus ordering number logic from catalog) or approved equal,
to operate one _______ (specify [50, 70, 100 or 150(55V)] watt
high pressure sodium [HPS] or 175 watt metal halide or mer­cury mogul base or [70, 100 or 150(55V)] watt HPS or [70, 100
or 175] watt metal halide or 175 watt mercury medium base)
lamp from a nominal _______ (specify 120, 208, 220, 240, 277,
347 or 480 volt, 60 Hz or 220 or 240 volt, 50 Hz) power source.
The luminaire shall include a completely prewired integral bal­last and an optical assembly that shall provide an IES Distribu­tion Type _______ (specify according to photometric selection
table in catalog). The luminaire shall be UL/cUL SUITABLE FOR
WET LOCATIONS. Standard construction is IP55. Ballast, hous­ing, optical and luminaire assembly shall all be from the same
manufacturer.

MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION

The luminaire shall include a two-piece die-cast aluminum
housing with an electrocoat dark bronze paint finish and
_______ (specify acrylic or polycarbonate resin) refractor. There
shall be weatherproof neoprene gaskets around the refractor
edge and the wiring and mounting holes. Mounting shall be by
two 3/8-inch (9.5mm) bolts through provided back holes or to
a 4-inch (102 mm) outlet box. There shall be 3/4-inch (19mm)
conduit entrances with built-in clamps provided on the sides
for through-feed wiring. The luminaire shall have standard and
vandal-resistant screws provided to secure the refractor to the
housing. Removal of the refractor shall allow direct front ac­cess to the lamp, socket, ballast and reflector. The luminaire
shall have provisions for a field-installed photoelectric control
kit and internal glare shield.

OPTICAL ASSEMBLY

The optical assembly shall include a precisely molded prismatic
_______ (specify acrylic or polycarbonate resin) refractor and
top and rear aluminum reflectors with an Alzak✝ finish. The
optical assembly shall contain a _______ (specify mogul base
E39 socket with superior lamp gripping, without lamp [W1L­RXXXXXXXXXXXXX], or a medium base socket with specified
medium base lamp supplied [W1SRXXXXXXXXXXXXX]). The mo­gul base socket shall have added insulation, giving it the ability
to handle the higher pulse ratings of newer HID systems.

The optical assembly may contain an optional, factory
installed glare control shield.

The top reflector shall be drilled so as to accept field
installation of an internal glare control shield IGS-WL175.

BALLAST OPERATION

The luminaire shall have a standard _______ (specify) ballast*.
The ignitor (for HPS only) and ballast shall be prewired to the
lamp socket requiring connection of power supply leads only.
The ballast shall be in full compliance with lamp-ballast speci­fications available to the fixture manufacturer from the lamp
manufacturers at the time of fixture manufacture.

The ballast shall reliably start and operate the lamp in ambient
temperatures down to -20
