VERSAFLOOD ® II SIGNLITER
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The NEMA heavy-duty weather-resistant floodlight designated _______ (identify) shall be a GE VERSAFLOOD® II SIGNLITER, ordering number _______ (specify V2FN or V2FS, plus ordering number logic from catalog) or approved equal, to operate one _______ (specify [70, 100, 150(55V), 200, 250 or 400] watt high pressure sodium [HPS] or [(175, 250 or 400) watt metal halide or mercury]) lamp from a nominal _______ (specify 120, 208, 220, 240, 277, 347 or 480) volt , 60 Hz or 240 volt, 50 Hz power source and shall be capable of starting and operating the specified lamp within the limits specified by the lamp manufac­turer. The luminaire shall include a completely prewired integral ballast and an optical assembly with _______ (specify MN4 or SN4 according to photometric selection table) IES Distribution type. The luminaire shall have a NEMA lamp identification de­cal. It shall be UL/cUL Listed SUITABLE FOR WET LOCATIONS. Standard construction is IP55.
MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION
The luminaire shall include a die-cast aluminum housing and hinged front door frame with stainless steel latch, brace to hold door open for relamping, ballast, lamp socket, filtered optical assembly, surface mounting through back, 3/4 -inch threaded (with screw-in plugs) conduit openings (for wiring) on top and sides of housing, tempered door glass (and optional prewired photoelectric control receptacle). All hardware shall be corro­sion-resistant . All die-cast aluminum surfaces shall have an electrocoat _______ (specify dark bronze [standard] or gray) paint finish.
BALLAST OPERATION
OPTICAL ASSEMBLY
The optical assembly shall be sealed, have an activated charcoal filter, and include a precision formed aluminum reflector stippled, heat/impact-resistant tempered flat door glass (on V2FS 400-watt units, use convex glass), with gasketing around the perimeter of the housing. The reflector shall have a chemically bonded and lightweight non-breakable ALGLAS providing corrosion resistance, durability and ease of cleaning.
The optical assembly shall contain an E39 mogul base socket with superior lamp gripping. The socket shall have added insu­lation, giving it the ability to handle the higher pulse ratings of newer HID systems. The socket shall be capable of field adjust­ment for variations in beam spread without parts modification or replacement and with no more than a screwdriver for a tool.

All electrical components shall be mounted on the housing. The ballast shall be prewired to the lamp socket and terminal board. There shall be a plug-in igniter for use with HPS lamps.
The luminaire shall contain a standard _______ (specify) type ballast* in full compliance with lamp-ballast specifications available from lamp manufacturers at time of manufacture.
The ballast shall reliably start and operate the lamp in ambient temperatures down to -20
-40°F for HPS. The luminaire and ballast shall be from the same manufacturer.
